I bought an electric piano, shipped with DHL.
When it arrived to my city I had to choice to go and pick it up myself or to let them deliver it to my home address. The length of the box was a couple of centimeters bigger than the luggage space of the Polo, according to what I could find on the internet, so I decided to have the piano delivered to my home address.

After unpacking I took the empty box to the recycling station and discovered that actually it fit perfectly in the back, albeit with the front passenger seat sent fully forward. Another win for the Polo.

New track day season is upon us!! Lots of work on the Aston over winter but we are now up and running! First day completed with no real concerns, except chewing through a new set of Yoko AO52s due to lack of negative camber and being too loud and getting black flagged… again!

That induction sound is biblical. I haven't heard anything like it before.

So basically because we were banned for having a naughty exhaust this is the ‘silenced’ version; I had mic under the bonnet and one on the rear bumper and that’s why you can hear so much induction noise but the way DJI mixes multiple inputs/noise cancelling is inconsistent so sometimes it sounds dreadful

With the exhaust valves fully open all you can hear is exhaust. It’s the most evil sound in person and far far far too loud.

Here's our fleet (in order of acquisition):

My 2007 Cobalt LT, which I've owned since 2008. Not much is stock on it anymore - it is supercharged, full exhaust, full upgraded suspension, SS Recaro seats, stellar sound system. This was my second car, purchased after my '86 IROC (that was parked) was wrecked by a drunk driver.

My wife's 2014 Cruze Diesel, which we bought new. Has close to 170k miles now. In terms of performance, it just has a tune and short-ram intake. It does have projector retrofits so you can actually see at night.

1778269634208.webp

My 1981 Camaro Z28 (305 ci V8, ST10 4-speed manual) - my uncle bought this new out in LA, and I had it shipped up here back in 2016. I've done headers and a full exhaust, an entire tubular suspension upgrade, and other things here and there. It doesn't get driven a lot because it mostly annoys the hell out of me when I do.

My 2017 Volt LT, which we also bought new. This is my daily driver (though my wife has been using it lately due to it being essentially free to drive).

And our latest addition, the 2015 Camaro SS Convertible. My wife and I rented this car on our honeymoon out in San Francisco almost 11 years ago, and we purchased it back in 2024 (and I don't mean this is like that car, it is that car). Thus far, I've done an OE Z28 air intake and a Corsa exhaust (that doesn't actually fit convertibles...unless you do a few things).

And a bonus picture...from said honeymoon, on the Pacific Coast Highway (it didn't have stripes originally), overlooking, well, the Pacific Ocean. We picked the car up from the airport with 7 miles on the odometer.

Nice collection, I love that old Z28!

Fun fact - your 2015 Camaro shares exactly the same chassis as my Commodore!

Thanks!

Yes it does - Zeta platform, so she's a big heavy girl, but fits in the garage better than the 2nd gen does simply due to the shorter length of the car (even if it is considerably wider).

It’s nice to see a compact car that’s not only been under the same owner and well cared for almost 20 years, but also properly modified. Well done. Most Cobalts in 2026 seem to have been either junked, in poor shape, and/or with questionable modifications.

So...since this is post a pic of your car, not your 'cool' car...here it is. Gran Turismo 7 approved!

2023 Renault Austral Esprit Alpine E-Tech. Quite a mouthful for use, but a great family hauler. But yeah, still a SUV.

At least the color is properly cool, 'Rojo Deseo/Rouge Flamme'.

That's only half a mouthful. One of my cars full name is 2017 Holden Special Vehicles Clubsport R8 Tourer LSA 30th Anniversary GEN-F2

Edit: And nothing wrong with SUV's. Very versatile 👍

There is always a bigger fish for sure

Thanks, but whoa, yours is a properly cool car, mine will blend right in anywhere (which could be an advantage depending on the view) yet it's cooler than my previous car...a beige Renault Mégane II. Cool design for sure (at least for me) but...at least it was a honest car, and served me well.

Our most driven car is 2017 Subaru Outback 3.6R that also blends in anywhere :), and a lot of people don't notice that the HSV is anything more than a Commodore wagon... unless they're proper 'car people'.

On a proper wash day...

What a fine garage! Yup, it has everything, a nice daily, a enthusiast car 'dressed' as a wagon, and the lovely Falcon just in between.

The world of sleepers, especially from the factory is always great for that very same reason you say, only the enthusiast knows what he's looking at. A bit of off-topic, this SAAB 9-3 sat alone in a car event today...little people did know it was a late Aero V6T XWD with 280 hp, but people just saw a SAAB sedan and kept walking by...

And of course, talking about red cars, getting back on topic with 2 extra pics, I'm a blue guy but this red just does the trick. Same car in grey, white, black, even blue (the only shade I like is only found in the Rafale) they make the car look dull...

Soap and water! That's not an ordinary old Falcon in the same way the HSV isn't a Commodore. it's an '03 BA FPV GT-P ;):sly:

So far I'm loving it. Couple of little snags here and there to sort over time and I may have to make the investment in a Canbus Function Extender, but those are neither here nor there.

Extremely rare spec too - for those in the know it's a very early facelift T5, which means it gets the better 256hp 2.4T engine but not the expensive post-2006 tax, it's a M66 manual with the spaceball shifter, has the BBS Nebulas from factory, sunroof, heated seats, and just about everything I can think of besides the memory seats. Engine-wise it's completely stock which is becoming harder to find these days. It also did have the Four-C suspension as standard but this was removed a few years back in favour of some BC Racing coilovers and some very slight wheel spacing. Super understated design that I think is aging incredibly well with just enough aftermarket touches to look a bit more aggressive but not like a total tit!

Awesome story. Fat chance of me finding(and importing) the Hertz C6 I rented for our honeymoon in Miami 18 years ago.

Came across this today in FB Touring Car Universe page. Rickard Rydell WTCC 2002.

When we dropped the car back off at the airport, I took a picture of the VIN and basically had it as a Chrome tab of a google search from then on. I missed the initial auction (since Hertz's Adrenaline Collection is a lease from the manufacturer versus something they own), but it popped up for sale in PA in ~2018ish for far too much, but I kept the tab up, in the event it went up for sale again...and it did. It was still a little high in terms of price, but our finances now allowed us to grab it, as I was mostly focused on getting the car this time. It hadn't left PA and the dealer had a ton of pictures, so I jumped on it and they shipped the car to me. Was so excited when it finally arrived.
