After finally getting my P's (yay!) i suddenly worked out the downside of my family owning a sportscar. Insurance for me to drive it is freaking $$$$$ (Nay!). So i took initiative since i'm going to need a car to get around to my job, that's cheap to insure and stuff. Looked in the papers the other day and found a car, a few days later and i finally put in my first deposit onto it.
Its a commodore maaate!
A 2005 VZ Executive to be exact.
Despite being a ford type of guy i'm not all pure against holdens, and i have to say from driving this car it is smooooth, its got decent power, handles really well and its roomy, the boot especially which is good... when my family needs it. T_T its also got a towbar and electronic brakes(?) for towing which is good... when my family needs it. T___T The car's original engine (which had done 250km+) has been replaced with a refurbished engine (with only ~86km driven). Brakes, tires, transmission, essentially all mechanical parts have all been serviced within the last 6 months so there is no problems with those either.
I'm going to replace the stereo in the near future since it doesn't have an aux/bluetooth, but it isnt urgent at the moment. It's got cruise control and electric front windows, but the rears are wind-up (which i like for nostalgia). It's a bit dusty in the interior but nothing a bit of a dust and wipe cant clean.
The only issues this car has are minor, as it was owned by an elderly couple who regularly serviced and maintained it. There's just a couple of dints and tiny paint chips on the doors but thats easy to touch up and not going to kill me. Tbh it is barely noticable unless you know they're there. There's no rust which is another good thing. And besides, you can't expect a 10 year old daily car to be 100% immaculate inside and out, so for the cheap price of $4,750 (including roadworthy and rego till June next year) i'm stoked.
