Just made a jump from gas to EV, Equinox EV more specifically. I think this car is exactly what I was waiting for - good looks, good range (300+ in warm weather), price is right, and infrastructure is at a good enough point now IMO.
I have a 20Amp 240V outlet in the garage, so can charge at home at around 3.5kW added per hour, so around 12 miles of range.
Also get free charging at work, so my energy costs will be almost nothing.

I was going to go EV for my next one, but this time I felt I wanted a petrol again after 5 years with a low power diesel. I'm absolutely ready for the simplicity and acceleration of an EV, in my mind they're objectively better than ICE for simply driving. Enjoy.

Thanks! This specific EV is actually not very quick off the line, does 0-60 in 7.7 seconds, since this is a FWD version. However, I've had my fair share of driving faster cars when I was younger and this thing's still faster (and smoother) than car it replaced.

Might as well post an update too since I now have company here.

Car has been running extremely solid since it almost hydrolocked. Still keeping a solid eye on it for any little thing I notice, but so far so good. Tune has been great, PSI now at around 24-26lbs, up from around 18-21. Its a completely different car now. Unfortunately, the amount of extra power I'm pushing is causing my clutch to slip. The OEM clutch isnt rated to handle much more than what the car produces stock and I'm pretty well above that, probably around 40% more at this point. So I'm going to pick up a Bully Clutch and also replace my flywheel at the same time. I'm just going to stick to the original DMF, It's solid. I also don't plan to do any other major power upgrades until sometime next year, maybe around summer. Goal is Meth Injection(might be this year if anything), a bigger turbo, maybe a cam, and then bigger injectors that are e85 capable. That will very likely be the end of the road performance wise, there's not much more to do thats necessary outside of that.

Of this last pic, I managed to beat my buddys WRX at the end of this line up by about a half a car. It has an exhaust and a tune on it. I was actually completely surprised by that, but I do have a good nearly 1k pounds difference on him.
