What has surprised me the most so far is how incredibly well soundproofed it is.

If you're thinking of buying a Mazda, explore beyond Soul Red.

There are some really beautiful colors.

Mine is Platinum Quartz, the photos don't do it justice. It changes tone dramatically depending on the light.

Ceramic White and Red Artisan (exclusive to the CX-80 and CX-90) are gorgeous.
Buttons and knobs and switches on dash, as god intended. 👍

These were some photos a good friend of mine took back in May. He does excellent automotive photography. His Instagram: robs.povs

I am extremely close to giving the green light on a CX-60 Azami in that colour.

My current car is a 2011 Mazda 6 Luxury Sports hatchback with the 2.5 and 5-speed auto.
There's nothing wrong with it apart from souvenirs from the shopping centre carpark, but it's just ticked over 190,000kms.
I just had it serviced as per the book at my local Mazda dealer, and it was given top marks for its condition.

So, the real question I face is this:
If the 6 is in such good condition for a 15 year old car, why do I want to spend almost AUS$80K on something new?

🤔 What to do, what to do?

I had, and still have a 2005 Accord CL9 2.4 Executive with all the extras.

330,000 KMs and the car is still in very good condition.

But I'd been wanting something new and more fuel-efficient for a while.

Besides, European politicians are forcing us to drive more environmentally friendly cars if we want to avoid restrictions on entering city centers.

In the end, it depends on your financial situation.

That Mazda 6 could last much longer.

But if you can afford the CX-60, go for it, there are few things more pleasurable than driving a new car.

As a fun fact, the European Accord CL7/CL9 and the Mazda 3 Sedan are almost the same length: 4665 mm and 4660 mm respectively.

I’ve got an ‘06 facelift six-speed manual, 165,000 kms/102,500 miles. Love my fabric seats. Plus, the car is so quiet and rattle free. Build quality is impeccable. I’ve bought three brand new Hondas when I lived in the states. This one feels just as new as those(also with some parking lot dings from the 18 years with its first owner). Can’t see me passing it on.

Mazda3 also shares the perfect clean looks of the Euro. Also cool details of the classic round headlights and taillights and I love that Mazda3 minimalist dash. Awesome steering wheel too.
If I were to buy a new five seater it’d definitely be the Mazda3. Wish the Mazda3 had that Cypress Green to match my MX-5. ;)

I told myself I was just going to leave everything OEM on this car since its my daily and there isn't much point in even doing anything to a near-base Civic, but it was time for tires and I went ahead and got wheels and new springs too. Motegi Kojin 18x8.5+38 with 235/40R18 Continental DWS06s (I really ended up hating the Goodyear Eagle Sports the car came with) and H&R Sport Springs. The springs are supposed to be about 1.2 inch drop front and rear but I only had them installed for maybe an hour in this photo so they should settle lower over the next week or so. I have gotten some hate for the wheel choice elsewhere but I wanted tri-spokes and didn't want to replace black wheels with another set of black wheels so I like them a lot. The blue lug nuts are just because they were the only ones in stock at the time

Is the Honda a 2.0 litre K20?

It seems you have the Euro Type R without the look.

These Euro Accords are known as Acura TSX here in the States, and I love them! My ex had one and they are a pleasure to drive.

And the Mazdas nowadays are such hi quality, so very well designed, a pleasure on the eyes !

I would totally get the Mazda if I ever had to buy a new car.
Over here in the States, they are unfortunately so underrated and under appreciated, but I am starting to see more and more people getting the Mazdas.

Mazda deserves so much more recognition, but people here just can't get see past the Toyota and Honda.

Thanks for sharing
And enjoy them nice looking sedans/berlines...

I have the K24A2(around 190bhp). 16” wheels.

The Luxury came with 17” wheels.

The Sport got the wheels from the Type R.

Ok. So the big block with the non-VTEC sensible head. Still good power though at 190bhp.
That's 20bhp more than the 2.5 in my 6.

Also, your 16' wheels probably allow a tyre with a decent, comfortable side wall.
The 6 comes with 18' rims wrapped in 225/45R18 that are great on a decent road, but tram track and follow undulations on the bad roads - an increasing number in Victoria.

Just before the TSX came out, I was looking at the Mazda6 hatch(after seeing the new body styles at the NY Auto Show). Really wanted the TSX, but I didn’t wait for its debut. I was in my ‘04 EP3 Si and my situation changed where I bought an ‘05 Odyssey EX-L.
It’s crazy how different the culture between Honda and Mazda is when I got to Australia. Australia is Mazda country and Hondas just aren’t seen as on par with Mazda.

I had an old workmate who was choosing between the then new 325 or a new TSX. I told her about the TSX. She saw how everything was standard(I think she had to option Navigation) in the TSX and bought a red one.

Last year round trip Newcastle to Melbourne and recent round trip Newcastle to Cowra, both times with a full load were too easy.

You’re right about the tyres. It has 205/55-16(funnily enough the same size wheels and tyres that were standard on my ‘04 Si). I wanted to put on 17” and lower the Euro slightly, but the 16” Bridgestone RE 003s offer enough grip in dry and wet, working well with the double wishbone suspension.

Well! It isnt the day yet, but I was feeling jolly, and considering I am hosting a little competition on a discord server (who can decorate their car the best) I went out to get festive and decorate the Twingo!

As much as I wanted to, I did NOT drive around with the decorations on the outside, as my favorite buddies (the police) would have been... rather unhappy with me and my silly little rustbucket :D

That being said, the looks of the people walking by or driving by were hilarious, some even gave a thumbs up! I call that a success!!

The Euro R Looks sooo good
Yeah, man. There have been a few for sale I passed on. Most of them in blue(me and blue cars don't do well together). One in silver that wasn't the best it could be. A red from a dealer that was bit much and a black one with all Mugen aero parts that was fresh off the boat.

Those actually remind me of my old 16v Jetta. Very old school with a high revving four, plenty of room for passengers and a big boot. Not the fastest and definitely not lightweight like a Type R, but a fun car.
