You know that major label artists only get 5-10% of CD sales, and that's only after they sell 500,000 copies, right?

Or they could sign with indie labels and make better music that isn't made just to be aired on the radio.
Yes, but thanks to major label payola, their music would be lucky to get aired on the radio and they wouldn't reach a very big audience then.

So? I don't want to listen to an artist who is just making music for the money anyway. Plenty of independent acts get recognition. If you want to find someone's music you can find it regardless if it is played on the radio or not.

You need to make some kind of money out of a music career, no? And you do know that the artist has to pay for the recording of the album, video clips, tour costs and promotion of the record right? Independant acts get a bigger slice of the CD sales yes, but once you take out those costs and compensate for the fact that they don't have as big of a fanbase as mainstream bands, it doesn't leave much.

No, you don't need to make some kind of money out a music career. If you're good enough to make money, you will regardless if you're on a major record or not. If you're not making any money, it's probably because you suck and not because the evil capitalist major record labels are suppressing you.

So you're telling me, even if you didn't get any money out of the sales at all, you'd still be making music? 90% of artists hope to make some money out of making music, not just doing it for the fun of it.

No, I'd stop making music and go do something that I'm good at.

You don't deserve money just because you make music. You don't deserve music if you're the most amazing musician to ever walk the face of the Earth.

Cluttered desktop, start menu, hard drives filling up, and a 3rd hard drive, and 700 blank cds for backup, lol. I'm a pack rat when it comes to storing information on the computer.

Klostrophobic: Wow, that's ... amazingly clean. Though I wonder why you don't group the applications more appropriately and move them up one level removing the need for an "applications" folder? And what OS are you using?

I had a bunch of other folders in there. Then I deleted them. I should probably just move all the applications down one level and remove the Applications folder. Or sub-group them like you suggested. There aren't that many icons to justify doing that, though.

It's Windows 98 SE! Second Edition, woooo!!!

Looks pretty nice for 98SE.

I should probably do a format in not too long. When you think about how many of the programs you actually ever use, you sure see a lot of trash.

You poor thing. I suggest mowing some lawns and getting a computer manufactured in the past two years, preferably with an operating system to match.
