http://www.wpmc-karting.com is the link for the site mentioned above.

Hopefully it works.

Yep, working great here. I'm liking that! 👍. Just out of interest, what CMS are you using?

Actually, while I'm here:

http://thecarforum.net/

Design has completely changed since the last time I posted, (I think...) there's now a gallery, the forum has just hit 10,000 posts and 1000 threads, and the wiki is being sorted out at the moment.

heres the site im working on with a friend.

http://www.torontojdm.ca

The vBulletin forum should be up by tonight for now were running on a free one...

And ill be coming out with my own site in January 2007 covering car shows, drag events, drift events etc. on it. :)

By the way, guys, I don't really think this thread is for discussion about what's happening on your forums or sites, but for asking people's opinions on design and content, etc. Just thought I'd say it before this turns into a glorified admin chat room.

Bingo. This thread is not about any problems you may be having at your own forums. We also don't need a running commentary about the slightest little things either.

EDIT: I've just deleted 32 posts of off topic chit chat. Lets get back on topic.

Thanks Daan. 👍

I like the skin (apart from the slightly odd copyright at the bottom...). Stick in a banner and you'll be set :)

EngineBlock

Story short: created it because of the automotive forum I put my time in to accomplish 1000+ post was attacked by spam (porn links); that's not the bad part, the administrator doesn't answer PM's, and all the current Mods are inactive members. Why does he allow guest posting? Doesn't care anymore I guess; otherwise all this just may have been fixed.

Finally finished a skin that turned out good. What do you think?

I have a issue with my logo banner at the top; the design isn't so nice for one, but it all the sudden centered itself after I changed the width and removed borders. I can't seem to see why? Any clues (I want it to the left or right).

Looks nice.

One correction, United Kingdom is not spelled with an e on the end. ;)

Looks pretty clean, but you must change that logo. It's too plain and it's not even anti aliased. And I don't quite understand this bit: "Posting is only allowed in Forum Discussion for our guest." Do you mean that forum discussion is the only forum open to guests?

I see.

Like I sad, the logo is quite ugly. I'm not sure how I will be able to create a nice logo. Right now I want to get it align the the left.

Yes, the forum discussion is the only forum open to guest. I'll get to that latter.

thgf is now http://thgf.net:)

edit: Alpine's really taking it seriously:

Alpine at THGF

From now on you can access THGF from http://thgf.net

This should really get us kicked off. I found out that to get at the top of the google search engine I'm gonna need to put the price I pay for each click to above 20p which is alot when you think about how many people click on the first link their search engine brings up when they type in PS2, Tony Hawks etc.

So, the answer to this is a THGF store. When we raise some money from it that can be used to advertise us on google & raise money for no ads to make a premium service which can raise even more money if people join THGF & get into it & decide they want more from it & buy premium for around £3 a month. This can eventually pay for an upgrade to invision power board 3.0. With he extras gallery & blog this site would be perfect. All this comes at a price of £150 + £20 a year for support & license.

I've checked to see if making a profit from a free forum is allowed & it is. There are codes to make a store & making a premium service would just require making a new group & adding benefits to it such as a bigger avatar, premium forum, no ads etc.

With any luck all this should be up & working by 2008.

You really shouldn't advertise a forum until it's got off the ground. You're just wasting your money otherwise. Not once have I seen anyone advertise an invisionfree forum. Ever. Be careful with adwords, too: the cpc on that sorta keyword will be MUCH higher than for anything else. I advertised with the keywords "car forum" and "bored". Car forum cost me 3p, and bored cost me £3. After 3 months, I'd racked up a bill of £60 and I'd gained no members. So I cancelled it. It's one thing having visitors, but it's the number of people that stay that you should be worried about.

At a glance, you're up against this place:

http://www.thp8forums.com/

3,000 members, 89,000 posts... You can't hope to get anything near that, but you've got to try your best to get everything shiny. Remove any excess features that you don't need - it might seem fun to have a print page button at the bottom, but it sticks out and nobody is going to use it. When was the last time you wanted to print the homepage of a forum? I'm not saying expanding isn't good, but please don't waste your time and money!

I know, but you're reporting his news, so I'm replying to it.

That's not my site. I just googled Tony Hawk forums.

I have made a few websites and forums as of now. Oh and, I'm new here. I have been playing GT4 for quite some time now and eagerly waiting for GT5/ GT HD :D .

Anyway,

Nicholas' Diecast Models

This is my website about my diecasts with reviews and galleries. It might be very helpful and informative to diecast fans and collectors on GTPlanet.

Toyota Estima Club

An Estima Club of mine. It has been made a while ago but only has a smally number of members. I hope to expand it with Estima/MPV/Toyota owners.

Thanks.
Cheers.

LOL! Good eye. Alpine told me about this thread and that he has got some traffic there from here. You need me posting there? :)
Please visit my model car website too. I really need traffic. Might say I'm desperate too.
