Predictions for the August 2026 update (1.71)?

Seems more likely to me that they'll show a trailer for the update itself at GTWS, and the actual update will drop on the 20th.
This can make sense, but wait to show a trailer with only road cars in? There better be more in then, because we'll not get the same crowd reaction as the Hypercars Update...

I haven't played it once since FH6 came out.

If it doesn't have road cars, I shan't bother again, like with the last update.

I think you'll like the next one then, just a shame we have to wait so long.

Just talking to the guy who says he likes road cars that the update people have said will only have road cars will have road cars in, and that he'll like the road cars. If you take anything more than that away from my message then those expectations are on you alone.

I struggled to read this the first couple times so apologies, is the interpretation it’ll have road cars people like? 😁

GTWS round 2 is the rescheduled tape-delay premiere one, there will be no crowd to get a reaction from.

For example it was showcased as real car on GTWS several times.
And that is just a showcase of vehicles at the GTWS, not a confirmation of licensing, scanning and modelling being done for the game

I have a way better question for the sake of this thread's comprehension.
Not really because someone just wishlisted a car they like
Where exactly have you heard that?
Have ways and means of seeing what’s coming up, which as others have said on this site before, won’t delve further to not have measures by PD to prevent it.

That's okay. This is a deep-cut collection for long-time GT enthusiasts, not a cheap key-jingling crowd-pleaser. ;)
Trust me I fit into this category, but it's just that i'm tired of every yelling after an update : "Where are the X car?".
@Nakano219 Then the trailer at GTWS makes more sense.
@Nebuc72 I said that because I though the next GTWS was public that's it. You seems to know what's in the next one and happy about it so it's great.

For the race cars aficionados, being a road car only update doesn’t necessarily equal bad update. I can think of lots of sweet selections that could easily put the June update to shame.

For us, plebeians, all that’s left is speculation: considering the GTWS Round 2 is at the PDI Studios with closed doors and something could be shown there, maybe it’s a classic/nostalgic Japanese road car selection since there are a few obvious faces still missing and themed updates are apparently a thing now, right?

This one would smoke last month’s update, personally, so I mean it when I say there’s great potential.

I dream about a BTCC '98 pack... A road version pack (Laguna, 406, S40, Accord...) would make feint...
But it could also be a Nostalgia pack : Daihatsu Midget II, Subaru 360, Suzuki Alto Works, 1st gen Yaris, MX-5 NB, Mazda Demio, Honda Prelude...

It was mentioned there’s probably no update this month and possibly an update next month. Whether it’s on the 20th or earlier or later in the month, no one, for the moment, can say with certainty.
So we've gone from monthly updates, to every month and a half, and now two months? Seems like GT7's time is coming to an end.

Dead in the water.

I don’t know. The recent SOPHY article, the recent Milli Miglia. Maybe we see that first generation Crown RS and some of the Pebble Beach cars before the game bows out. Let’s doom post and say we only have five months left. Maybe we get five final updates.
If we look at the datamine(which for the bazillionth time doesn’t confirm any car on this list will be added to the game), the most cars added to the game have been the all capitals cars. That leaves a possible 13 cars yet to be added along with cars unknown:

It’s possible to have three cars added each update until the end of this year. In special instances even more per update. If we get none of the cars on this list from now through the end of the year then, whatever. It’s been a waiting game ever since PD began. ;)

As always take it with a grain of salt:

-Toyota Chaser tourer V Mark II
Toyota Chaser '97
-Hyundai Ioniq 6 N
-Caterham R500

Also he mentioned the expected date as August 20th (apparently content was shown on the recording of round 2 of GTWS at PD HQ today)

I'd be down to get the Chaser. It's one of those cars that I'm surprised was left behind on the PS1 (outside of the tuned TOMs version, but I count stock and tuned cars as separate entities) considering it's popularity as a drift platform.

I just hope they add the JTCC body kit as an option for some Super Touring goodness :D

Finally latched onto the right source from so many people talking about it publicly I suppose - don't take this to mean they'll be correct every time though.
