So I preorederd GT5 like many here I'm sure and I played the piss out of it both online and off, but that said the game has been sitting for a while now. I did do GT Academy which was fun, and I think I liked it because it was different.

After a while I just grew tired of the only new races being seasonals, and the usual drive through the pack of cars driving slow. Time trials are fun, but even those I grew tired of. And online racing? Great when I as with my usual crew, but pick up games turned into whine and crash fests.

The nail in the coffin was me buying a G27 and hoping it would breathe new life into the game only to find the clutch/shifter implemented SO poorly that is virtually unplayable. Yeah I should have done some research on it before buying, but I assumed (wrongly) that it was a given.

Another thing I found that I missed was I picked up the PC game Race '07, which when you do a race simulates a full race weekend, so you do 2 practices, qualifying, warm up, and then race. You used to be able to do practice/qualifying before an event in GT4 which was nice, but its now long gone, so for example if you haven't practiced a track in the past in a Formula GT you're thrown into the deep end, and its an event that takes a really long time to complete. I didn't realize how much I missed that till I had it back. The AI sucking and some of the cars being way overpowered in some races are also always on the list but we all knew that. Yes I know Online play can take care of that, but honestly a lot of times I don't feel like online play, I'd rather be on the track with 18-24 cars that are going to behave normal, and not be cursing and whining over their headsets, and just have a competitive race (that I can pause and take a leak in the middle of if I have to).

Any other pre-order players just "over it" or what are your thoughts?

I am still playing it now until the slow steady stream of games starts flowing in the last quarter of the year. I will still play, but it will eat into my time with GT5.

Im playing it now :) dont really go on many other games at the moment, waiting for f1 2012 and assassins creed 3 to come out which will dramatically reduce the amount of time spent on gt5

I still play it pretty much everday(ask my wife). I started to get bored with it, bought a 360 and Forza 4... I prefer GT5 flaws over Forzas anyday. So here I am back with gt5 and enjoying the seasonals and hosting my own rooms.

In my own rooms I don't have on the chat feature and the room title sets the tone. No if and or buts. Even if they want a pp change it's a big no no if it's in the title. If asked more than twice to change it I kick. Any out of the way behavior or attitude... I kick.

I preordered the CE GT5 and sadly I have to say GT5 is done for me. It's also sad because I still remember the day I got it, on release day, and how excited I was to get to Game Stop and hurry to come home to play GT5.

I got Forza 4, and after buying a Fanatec, I have not looked back since.

I've never played PC or console games much at all. Pre-ordered GT5 and still play it quite often. Joining a club helped me maintain interest when it started to feel a little stale.

I still play GT5 but not all the time, I've been playing alot less lately since I brought Race Driver GRID a few weeks ago.

I rarely play it anymore.

I'm slowly quitting after getting Forza 4 and possibly Horizon, Forza is killing the GT series in it's car roster, monthly DLC, livery editor, and the feel of racing. GT5, on the other hand, definitely beats Forza in physics but it's too hard to powerslide your cars, power limiting is present, animated pit stops, night racing, customizable driver avatars, and less crazy lag.

Pre-ordered the collectors edition, still play it 50/50 with Black Ops. 👍

I still have my receipt :)
I remember back when I was waiting desperately for the game's release...

I still play every night, but only online. Except for the occasional Blu-Ray movie, the GT5 disc never leaves the console.

still playing gt5 and i love my g27. One reason why i play it, its that this game is very good for practice and training for real slalom or drift races.
If u get borred , go join racing clubs, drift clubs , drag clubs and others. Do car of the week challenges. GTP community is perfect for this game. So stop whining and go play this Masterpiece game

I've slowly started playing less. My launch day fat 60gb dying several months back was the main reason since I lost my game save. Getting a new G27 wheel for my new ps3 was my main reason I started playing again from scratch, now experiencing the game again with a wheel which has breathed some life back into the game for me.

The trouble is, every time I pick it up again to play I always wish gt5 had some features from other games, like more realistic damage etc. If gt5 had realistically modelled damage it would be truly awesome... as it is I think it's started to show its age (already?)

Highlighted the only thing I liked about Shift 2 over GT5. GT5 drives and plays so much better, but in Shift 2 you feel like a race car driver, same with Race 07.

I think its just the lack of challenge and sometimes disparity in performance of the AI that gets it for me. I still think the game is a masterpiece and theres a hell of a lot of content, its more than worth the money, I just am feeling after almost 2 years of it, the game is getting long in he tooth.

Honestly my favorite part were the driving challenges (Top gear, Nascar, etc), I wish they would release more stuff like that as DLC. The seasonals are too repetitive, same story every time with different cars (and yes I dial my PP down as low as possible to make the races competitive).

Those of you enjoying it with a G27, I'm assuming you're using the paddle shifters because the stick/clutch is worthless.

Not very often although it's still the only game I really play. Don't play many video games at all nowadays. It's all about the online though, haven't touched single player for months. I remember thinking when I first got the game "I'l never play online much, gt is about the single player".

I don't think a game is a masterpiece if I need to be part of a fan site to enjoy it. That just shows the game can't stand on its own two feet. I mean, what did you guys do with yourselves when online gaming wasn't possible in the past? What did you do in GT5 when PSN was hacked and playing online was impossible?

Why does this game need online to be any good? I'm not interested in any of those things mentioned in this post. Some of us want a fun and enjoyable offline mode, which sadly, is something GT5 doesn't have.

Gt5 is the only game I really play anymore until GTA5 comes out, it has it's flaws but it's still the best racing game on ps3. I think I've just gotten less into video games as I've gotten older (I'm 26 now) I haven't even bought a new game for almost a year now and having motorcycles and 4 wheelers to play with keeps me off gt5 quite a bit when it's nice out.

I still play a lot. Most of the time I play with my 4 year old & paint cars.

I pre-ordered GT5, and although I don't play it as much as I used to, I still play it occasionally (once every few days).

The game is a few years old now, so I guess as more games come out you will find yourself playing GT5 less and less.

I still play, almost daily.

Not since I started playing iracing, PS3 hasn't been turned on in over a year. Still a great game though, just no time to play

Pretty much every day since release.

A poll is in order don't you think?

I have never preordered anything, but I did purchase at release. I play when I have free time. Kind of hard some days with two kids, school, sports, life lol. Nothing else has been in the PS3 for a very long time. Last game was F1 2010 if that gives you an idea!

Still playing, every day.

QFT.

I feel the same way. Preordered it, played it to death for roughly a year, and now it sits, waiting for new DLC or update. It even forced me to return to ye ol Call of Doody :yuck:.

Pre-ordered and still play almost daily. I've got B-Spec winning a few Seasonals right now :P

I pre-ordered the collector's edition, but don't play it much anymore.. I did just about everything I can do with this game. PC sims like rFactor or GTR2 are a much better buy. There are so many addon cars and tracks you can download.

Yes and no,I do for a little bit each day but no-where-near as much as I used to.
