You like that whistle? I find it so annoying, which is one of the reasons that I always race from the third person perspective, and not in the car, 'cause you can't hear the whistle from the outside!
 
Yeah...now that you mantion it, I do find that whistle annoying! :mad:
 
But turbo cars do have thier advantages too...
 
With turbo cars in the game you, moreso in real life, you will find more "lag" with the stage 3 and 4 turbos as they make most of their power much higher in the power band.
In NA cars with stage 2 or 3 upgrades the power band gets "meatier" throughout the rev range. On tighter courses, like Monaco, dump the stage 4 turbo for a stage 2 and your times will almost certainly go down, cause you won't be waiting for the turbo to spool up.
 
I would take turbo over N/A anyday...... all my best cars are turbo..... you get a lot more power out of them.... My cars that have the highest topspeed are almost all turbos, most of my 400M cars are turbo too
 
But like gil said, lag is a factor. I just use my Viper, I win all the time.
 
Turbo Lag.

Being a turbine-powered compressor driven from the exhaust stream, the turbocharger suffers from what is known as boost lag. This is the delay between the throttle being pushed down and the engine kicking out enough hot exhaust gas to spin the turbine and compressor fast enough for boost pressure to be made.

Typically this lag is only a problem below a critical rpm limit where there is not enough exhaust gas volume and energy to spool the turbo. This can be controlled, to a large degree, by the design of the turbocharger and how it is installed in the engine.
When operating above a certain rpm, the engine produces enough exhaust gas volume for a turbo to spool almost instantaneously.

Blow-off Valves

Where does that whistling sound come from. That's the blow-off valve. These valves are used to expel excess boost pressure to the outside air when you back off the throttle. It will sound like a big relaxed sigh every time the throttle is suddenly closed.
