The latest version of PCARS2 is now live on Steam. I didn't see a dedicated thread on the update, but it's a substantial one in terms of bug fixes, judging by the list.

I've included the entire thing below, care of Nathan Bell over at the official forums:

    Update 02.16.18
PlayStation 4 patch has now gone live.

Full patch notes, via Nathan Bell on the official forums:

    Update 02.23.18
Xbox One patch has now gone live.

Good news, SlipZ! Looking forward to the PS4 version. I hope this update of livetrack 3.0 fix the AI speed as it passes through the water puddles. I'm glad the SMS staff are working hard to improve our experience. The game did not start well in some aspects, but let's hope it delivers all the potential it has. Thanks for the heads up.

After reading all that, the highlight for me was "Added name of tyres on the car...".

Hopefully the list for ps4 is similar. I have seen a number of my bug bears addressed in that list above.

So they still haven’t identified and fixed the ‘career wiping itself’ issue ! This is bad on the one x and several pc users have suffered too, iam on my 3rd career, last i heard was that the devs couldn’t replicate the problem so they can’t fix it.

    Removed Damper Saturation option.
    - hopefully they left included value on zero, or game value might drop significantly. Waiting with fingers crossed.

Porsche 911 GT3 R: revised suspension geometry and setup from new reference material. Re-calculated chassis moments of inertia.
    - great news.

Group C and IMSA GTP: increased engine rotational inertia, new tyre carcass, and re-balance of adhesive vs ‘rip grip’. Bump Stop lengths also reviewed, as was lift:drag ratio on all cars. Fuel consumptions also addressed.
    - more great news.

I knew something changed!! That's the only GT3 car I have any seat time with and it didn't feel quite the same as it did before the update but I was unaware of this patch note. Very easy to feel the difference through the wheel.

In other news, I never used soft tires at all after reading on the forums that they were unusable other than in very cold temperatures. Work was slow today so I had time run a few lobby races and I can confirm that soft tires are indeed usable now. I had no trouble running them at Sakitto, Bathurst and Nurb GP at track temps hovering around 30 C. 8 laps sprints and no overheating. In the 911 GT3 I had the rears much warmer than the fronts and had to close the ducts almost entire on the front to keep them up to 90C. I only did a few laps with the hards so I can't compare how they stack up with each other now but the softs were lasting just as long as the hards before the update.

The lobby I was in had a mandatory pit stop and I know there have been issues with pitstops. At Bathurst the Splash and Go stop I had set up worked perfectly, in and out in seconds. At Nurb GP not so much. My pit crew decided to give me a ton of fuel when I was in the lead with 2 laps to go!! They are now fired of course.:mischievous:

Hope XB1 gets some of those AI fixes.
Cool fix regarding the Escort FOV. It's a bit close to the windscreen.

Couldn't see a fix for pitting offline. Where I call for a pit stop and once I get to pit entrance, the engineer notifies me pit box is occupied. I continue down the lane, into my pit box and the crew works on my car and the AI car already there. I get serviced and leave before the AI car.

I was caught out a few times and did drive thrus, winding up the back of the grid. Started to see what happened if I pitted anyway, with the above results.

I'll answer my own question. According to the official forum, no clutch fix, and now tyre pressure in the hud is broken, it shows bar to no decimal places, so 1 bar, 2 bar, etc, which is pretty useless. Oh well....

I think the patch notes are generic and the exact same patch notes will go to XB1 and PS4 as well.

I must have missed this thread. I'd been seeing the news announcement on the Project Cars official site but not here on GTPlanet and was about to post a question to the GTplanet contribution writers to ask how come no news announcement on the latest patch for Project Cars 2.

From the reviews I've seen on Project Cars official site/forum it seems lots of patches and improvements with this update and positive reviews. Looking forward to it being available for PS4 users also. We always seem to be the last to get whatever patches available.

They didn't say they've turned up the engine audio of the FC car... :guilty:

Loads of great fixes elsewhere though. Must've been a ton of work.

Man!!!! There’s a lot of fixes for the game! I didn’t read through each fix. I do wonder if they’ll fix the headlights shining through the car’s body before retracting up on cars with retractable headlights?, or the reverse lights blinking during gear changes?

All these AI fixes sound great. Especially the improvements to the AI passing/lapping slower cars. Should make multi class racing even better, hopefully anyway.

I have to say, I found MUCH more improvement in this patch than the "huge" third patch. I really love that I can do a career now and not have to constantly exit the menu, change AI setting, test, repeat. Since figuring out my new numbers, I havnt had to change it at all. Yes, there are some races where I am slightly faster or slightly slower, but the variation is so small now that it actually makes it feel more realistic. This change alone saves me 30 minutes per race not having to fiddle with the ai to find a good match.

You bought a centre channel? What were you running before 4.0 but you thought it was 4.1?

I'm setting up a new system and had no centre channel as of yet. Without it your left and right channels act as a centre channel, splitting the centre signal equally between the two of them but it's not quite the same thing. So with the unplugged centre I guess it was 4.0:lol:.

You were racing against AI with skill and agression at 100 or so right?
