😂
I still use PC2 to this day. Although a lot of the content is getting transferred over to AMS2 which is wonderful.
One thing that keeps PC2 alive on PC for me is the Custom FFB files though. That's transformed some of the minor issues and makes it still fun to this day. I've raced people on controllers bumper to bumper. I wouldn't say they have any disadvantage after some of those races. Quite capable.
They may not be at a disadvantage but I think there'll definitely be fewer of them than if the driving model was accessible to more people (or lazier people like me).

I just noticed that the Project Motor Racing website has a forum, populated by the expected members and staff, oddly despite having threads dedicated to ACE and two for GT7; Project Cars 3, aka 'all the sim you could want' is absent from discussion.

It's really not a bad game. I think it's a bit of a forgotten gem really if you switch off any expectations of it actually being the same type of game as the first two.

Completely agree, stand alone game, it's pretty great actually.

If it was named Project Cars: evo or somethig like that it would have been much better

Please lets stop calling things "Evo". Cars, Sims anything. Can't just slap Evo on it and call it Christmas. lol

At the end, I'm still not sure why PC3 was marketed as PC3 when marketing a game that heavily differs form its predecessors never works out well. It would've been like if Forza Horizon was called Forza Motorsport 5 or if (don't know if anyone here gets this one) Devil May Cry was called Resident Evil 4 like it originally was going to be. Those would've been messes instead of the success they became.

I heard that Codemasters post buyout is why PC3 got called PC3 and it was going to be called Project Cars Sideways or something. But I don't know how true that is.

So you'd like to give Evo the Heave ho? 🙂
You're too late because I've heard Santa has his new Evo Sleigh this year! It's all the sleigh he could want, so I believe. Ho ho ho.

kjb
Why not evo can mean some many things. Very ambiguous 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
Nothing against your proposal, I'm personally sick of that suffix/term. :D

NOOOOOO, I wanted to poo this so bad. 😂

I have this on my PS4 disc but I would love to pick it up digitally. However it never ever seems to go on sale...what would the reason be 🤷?

EA & Sony conspire to keep the price artificially high
Nah not sure I bought the complete edition on sale for $25 a going on 3 years ago. I would say wishlist so whenever it goes on sale you would get a notification

Last sale for the standard was in April 2022 and the deluxe November 2021 so you probably got lucky.

I had put it on my wishlist right after I bought PC2. I bought the regular PC2 on sale as well. It just so happened they had both deluxe versions on sale. So I bought
the deluxe version of PC2 and PC3 within days of each other tried to get PC1 on sale but I missed out on that so I ended up with a cheap physical copy of that.

I've been racing online with some friends and some random players for the past few nights after a long time away.
It's been so much fun, I don't think this game ever got the credit it deserves tbh.
If anyone ever wants to jump online for some clean racing just give me a shout. All are welcome.
We run races were we all drive the same stock cars.

Came back to kind of say a similar thing. I installed it on PS5 (having played it on Xbox previously) and started going back through it, and it is a lot of fun to play, the car and track list is still phenomenal and it plays well. It suffered from god awful marketing and build up. I actually enjoy it more than I did pCars 2.

If it had been renamed 'Grid 3' or pCars: Grid or something under Codemasters, it may have done very much better overall.

The main thing I love about PC3 is the livery editor. They definitely should have given it a different name

Project CARS 3 is being delisted next month (August 24th) and having its online servers shutdown in February

It's a shame it had a relatively short shelf life. I know there were reasons behind branding PC3 as a follow-up to PC2, but it probably would’ve landed better as a Shift game, particularly as the gameplay was solid in that regard.

Thanks for the heads up.

I would have bought the game but there has been absolutely no discount on Xbox for AT LEAST 3 YEARS.

Unfortunately, following the initial sales failure on release, there has been no effort at all to sell the game by the publisher. You would think they would actually have wanted to earn some income, but apparently not.

If they were smart, they would discount it up until delisting to get a few last minute sales.

I cant be the only person who would pick it up on sale, but not at the original retail price which it is sitting at now?

PCARS3 is a fun "Turn-Your-Brain-Off" game for me. I can do a few little races in my favorite classes and I also get references of the liveries so I can copy them to GT7.

I play PC3 from to time. It has a great car selection and a very good livery editor. TBH I am surprised it took this long to delist it. I guess they would sell as long as the licenses were in fact.

I am surprised it has not gone on sale lately. I would have thought that they would have tried to put it on sale to help get some sales. I got lucky and got the complete edition for $25 a few years back. If I didn't get it then I surely wouldn't have gotten it later. I have to admit the DLC cars are pretty fun.

Delisted, eh?

Good thing I never got it

I think they barely made any effort after PCARS 2.

I don't think Motorstorm, or Motorfest whatever the upcoming one is called, is going to be that great either.

I presume you mean Project Motor Racing, since the other two are unrelated titles. It's supposed to be a return to the more sim-like experience that the first two PCARS games delivered, while ideally keeping PCARS 3's ease of use with a controller.

This has totally irritated me too. I bought the physical game and really like it on controller. Great handling and feeling. I've been waiting for the DLC to go on sale yet....it never does.

Bandaid Namco is a very greedy company and often charge premiums for crappy DLC and they very rarely have it on sale
