It's still not an overnight process.

This. People tend to think easier programming means that it could be done in a matter of months. It's gonna take some serious time and manpower to do this. And they are probably pretty far with the ps3 version so they'll never drop that project, because that would undermine years of development.

The Lotus 98T got a new tire in build 439, my god is it fun. :D

Very nice work on this video Drumming, I'm going to give that a shot after a couple hours of much needed sleep.

Releasing it on the PS4, doesn't that mean that they have to rewrite (code) the whole game?

I'm sure there will be a lot of different code written for the PS4, perhaps it will be more in line of a PC? From what I have heard the PS4 will more or less be a "kickass" PC anyways. I have not been more excited for a console release ever as I have for the PS4. Of course money is an issue as well, has anyone heard of a price point for the PS4?

I see a nice triple set here, gorgeous images chrom. :)

I hate to ask questions that seem to pop up all too frequent, but I would like to know if my planned PC rig would be able to run the game on highest settings. I am aware of the system requirements, but I don't really know how they compare to my build. I'm an idiot when it comes to PC's... :ouch:

Specs are Intel Core I5 3570 3.4 GHz, with 4 GB's of DDR3 RAM. Still debating with myself if I should get 4 or 8 gigs of RAM.

GPU is a AMD Radeon 6870.

Operating system will be Windows 7, 64 bit. Monitor is HD at a max resolution of 1920X1080.

Thanks in advance.

Also, have they made any remarks about DRM and whether the game will require constant online connection?

Highest settings? It seems a little off the mark for me.

I mean even I can't do highest settings and I have this.
Processor. AMD FX 4170 quad core 4.20 ghz.
8 gb. 1300mhz DDR3 Ram.
Graphics card. AMD Radeon HD 7770.
Windows 8.

Was on another forum talking about a potential nascar game for ps4, and how that might look- but such a game is limited to dry conditions, as usual. But for a lot of drivers, the thought of wet racing makes them drool. And come to think of it, is that a rain effect in this picture or is it the effect of soo many people drooling for pCars to come out? Either way, it looks extremely realistic.

You should get 8gigs of ram. You can still game at 4gb as right now games use up to 2GB, then around 1GB for the OS. If you have a browser open or another few programs you can easily go over 4GB of ram, programs will get use more ram going forward. Then you have future 64bit games which can use more ram. For the sake of $15-20 get 8gb and no need to close stuff.

Pcars, its very hard to say what you'll need as optimaztions haven't been made but I would say something like a 7950/gtx 670 would be a gpu to play at highest settings. If you're on about last gen in cards, then a 580 or 6970.

Another things is ultra shadows, super sample AA, you can dial some settings back to get but still look good on a 6870. What is max settings and what fps do you target, how many cars should be onscreen. people say max out or highest settings but often leave out heavy stuff like ultra shadows and lots of AA.

I'd wait long as you can to get a gpu, its been 15months since AMD released 7970 and 7950. I would think soon you should see price drops so you get more power for your dollar. In any case, once finished a 6870 should be able to do well in pcars and still look comparable to higher end cards. I used to run a 460 in pcars and get 40fps at but recent builds are more demanding, the game isn't out of pre alpha.

Also bear in mind 6870 is a mid range card from 2010, pcars is a 2014 game, we may still see new addtions for even more image quality to test out gpus today and beyond into 2014/15. You may be happy at medium/high settings.

Yes that's the rain weather. its light rain setting, there's more heavier rain settings as well.

Many thanks to haitch40 and chromatic9 for their replies. The only thing I'm keeping from my current PC in the new rig is my graphics card, and I won't have the money replace that with a newer card in the near future. Already costing me 5000DKK to get all the new stuff...

I suppose I'll go for 8 gigs of RAM, even if it seems a bit over powered for todays games.

The other question is whether or not you will want to move to triple screens. I'm having issues trying to get my 7950 working well with triple screens and I'm wondering if a Nvidia card would be better. Of course as mentioned graphics haven't been optimized especially for triple screens.

Not going to bother with triple screens. I have a hard enough time trying to justify spending 5000 on building my new rig. Don't want to spend money on more monitors. :)

Jawehawk, I suggest you should buy the Intel Xeon E3-1230V2 since you are not planning to overclock. It is essentially the Core i7-3770 without an IGP, but it's a lot cheaper (only ~20€ more than i5-3570). I know the i5-3570 is well enough for gaming but the Xeon has greater bang for the crown. ;)

That is if you buy the parts separately or if you can customize the PC, if it's prebuilt.

Thanks for the tip. I'll ask the guy at the shop about it on monday, and see what the price difference would be. You can always trust the price in Denmark to be higher than elsewhere. :)

It is a custom PC, with the only things being carried over from my old one, being the GPU, cooler and hard drive.

Why would you suggest he buy a server CPU?

How well could Pcars output with these settings?
-AMD Turion(tm)64X2 Mobile Tech TL-60
-2GB Ram
-Nvidia GeForce 8400M GS
-OS windows home vista premium

It's unlikely to move. No but seriously, that is a very weak setup for gaming, you could try it at 640x480 with everything on low but I doubt even that would run at an enjoyable rate.

Really that bad.
I'll stick to my PS3 then.

Took the M3 GT-E out on the Ring last night and I have to say, the physics on this game and that particular car have come a looong way, physics wise it's already ahead of rF2's Corvette, only thing missing now is a good solid FFB but so far I am very exited about the potential of the game!

I agree.. the beemers are one of the best atm. It's a right word to use, "potential", many of us have for long felt there's great things within reach here. In the end the last 5% of fine tuning will be what makes the game and if SMS physics team will be able to get it right (as I strongly believe they will) it's going to be all around amazing.

M3 GT is my favourite atm as well btw 👍

Indeed. The good cars are really good. If they can get all the cars up to that high standard it will be amazing.

And hey, if they don't they can just patch it and tinker around with the thing for the next two years like GT5! (Not bitter at all... :p)
