;) I'll stop it now.

One thing that I would love to see as an improvement is steering wheel shake. When they do those side by side comparisons the only thing I think draws me out of the realism is not seeing the steering wheel struggle. I wanna see little wobbles and jolts

^ That depends to a large extent on the driving style I think. Steering wheels don't really shake much in real life, but some drivers continually saw at the wheel, others have a smoother style. I'd not want a lot of 'artificial' shake. Here is an example of sim vs RL, where the sim is being worked harder. Generally, AFAIK, sims are driven with less sawing at the wheel for a number of reasons (no G-forces, less wheel torque, less driver nervousness...). YMMV.

Yeah, couldn't agree more....shaky/jolts/wobbles:nervous: (cabin view) and steering wheel struggle makes a huge difference imo:tup::gtpflag:

I'm looking forward to the historic tracks DLC. Slightly Mad has such great taste for circuits/venues.
The 'real' Hockenheim and classic Silverstone were great additions to Shift 2, here's me in my classic Porsche doing a lap:

It's the only video i ever made on youtube so an opportune moment to score some extra views :p

Do I need to preoder to get the limited edition or can I buy it when it comes out? I'm not big on preodering games since I don't see the point because I'll get it at one stage but I'm interested in getting the limited edition for project cars.

It's probably sold out entirely by now

Every time I see or think about S2U these days, I want to play it, but I know the handling will be distracting at best and frustrating at worst. It can be tantalizing that way, same as Gran Turismo. If the physics had actually been sorted out, S2U probably would have replaced FM4 very quickly, and I might still be playing it now while anticipating PCARS.

I'm trusting WMD's and others' word that the physics are really worth it this time, even if they're not quite revolutionary. Ugh, I want to know the Wii U release date already!

I remember playing shift 2 a lot! I don't ever remember it looking that good!

Is that circuit in Pcars?

Do we know anything about updating licenses (track names, sponsors...) after the release? As much as I don't mind unlicensed products, it would be nice to have non-existing content updated with real products.

I had the same feeling, so much so that I bought a second copy of S2U on the PC a while back and attempted to mod it enough to make it worth playing. Then I'd remember why I stopped playing, and stop. And then come back some months later having forgotten again. The game design was fantastic, the implementation was...shall we be kind and say poor?

pCARS is nothing like S2U physics-wise. It bears as much resemblance to S2U as GT6 does. If you want an SMS project that it feels like pCARS is descended from, it's GTR2 or GTL. With a greatly upgraded tyre model, because the tyre models in those games are garbage by today's standards.

Play GTL (worth it, if you haven't already, it's dirt cheap and still great fun) and imagine that GTL is Gran Turismo 3, and pCARS is going to be Gran Turismo 6. That's about the sort of difference we're talking about. Recognisable heritage, but massive improvement.

Shift and S2U appear to have been aberrations. Although I guess when you're employed by EA you make what they tell you to make.

More will be known soon. :)

@Imari -- Not only have I played GTL, back in the day I bought a copy of F1 2002 just to play the GTR 2002 mod that preceeded everything. With Live for Speed as an alternative, I never really got into any ISI-powered games or that old tire model, but you could say I've been tagging along the whole way. :)

I guees there isnt a LE for the states......Went to my local gamstop and he hadn't even heard of the game, I asked him about LE and he said there wasnt one...so what comes on the LE across the pond??

Yeah, nobody seems to know about the States getting the LE.

I mentioned yesterday that for PC, Steam has a Digital Edition on pre-purchase that includes the LE car pack as well as the pre-order Mod pack, for 49,99€ (£37,09 / $56,71)... but here in Portugal I was lucky to find a store selling the LE disc version for that same price... 👍
