Something should be done about the scripted nature of the career.

It's a thunderstorm fest, waaaaaaay overdone, seems to be this way because the devs thought it'd be a great idea having 10 laps races going from bright sun to thunderstorm for the eye-candy.

It's boring, unrealistic, sad, infuriating, annoying and whatnot.

It's a mess. Someone, please, make this madness stop.
That's why we should have a option to disable rain in career

It's not dynamic though is it? It comes in the same every time you restart an event.
Not always, after restarting a few times ("jump started" because I forgot to hold the brake), weather suddenly changed from rain to dry/fog...
So it does change sometimes.

None of us could have anticipated the sheer stupidity of the implementation.
TBH, the game is made in the UK, where the climate is roughly the same as in Belgium.
You have any idea how often it rains here, or how often we have to drive in foggy conditions ? :D
I'm pretty used to these and (granted that SMS wants to show off weather changes a bit too much) I have no problem with it.
BTW: I do like the sound of rain coming down on the roof (miss that in open top cars)...

This morning I was trying to tame the Lotus 86 F1 car at Spa in the rain.. Heading up Eau Rouge the beast is taking a bit of taming.. feather the throttle .. get smashed into by the AI. Thanks for that.

Hum, so you are saying that it starts to rain a monsoon from a sunny day in a matter of few laps over there? Every damn race?

Never saw that happening in tons of British sporting events that I watched over the years. Not in the pCARS consistency, at least.

It isn't like it rains once in a while. It's pretty much on every damn race, it's annoying and retarded, because everybody knows that weather doesn't work that way.

(And you surely don't know the legendary Curitiba weather...)

No, not every race.
In a matter of laps (or less) ? Yes.
A monsoon ? No, we don't get these, though the rain can be really hard.
I go to Zolder and Francorchamps on a regular base. Last week the weather was sunny and really warm. Suddenly cars came in the pitlane, soaking wet. Turned out that it was raining really hard in Les Combes and Bruxelles corners. Only 15' later it started raining in the pitlane.
Zolder is a much shorter track, but I had it happen there also, several times. Part of the track was wet, other parts completely dry. Really hard to drive...

But, as I said in my previous post #18727, there is too much of it in the game, I completely agree.
Weather changes in game are quicker because the races are compressed in time. That is also why the tracks dry out so fast (too fast).

Please watch (and have fun doing so...) 👍

Another good example in Zolder ---> comment:
"""""Inbetween two rainshowers the track was drying so I changed from wets to my CR500's. They only had a few miles of life left on them and would be useless in the wet but I was hoping that it would stay dry .... 1.5 laps later I wished I had done differently and that I minimally would have put some wet weather gear on :-)"""""

Lots of videos.

Only if you are playing with less than full lenght races. I'm not, so the weather transitions shouldn't be compressed at all.

Besides, the gripe is that is waaaaaaay overdone, as stated by yourself. I'll keep track of the rain on my next season, just to see how much I'm getting.

Great collection of videos, by the way.

Just gave Jussi some Gr A homologation papers, hope it will be useful to improve Gr A cars in Pcars :) Anyone interested to try E30 Gr A setup aimed to be closer to the BMW Motorsport E30 M3 Gr A Manual/Catalog, check my sig, feedback welcomed.

Ok I gave it a good run on Puaruna Oulton short and a few other tracks. I do like your setup better than the default it took a bit of getting use to it but worth it 👍 so far so good.
I will do a few more but you have done a good setup, keep on tuning

All were done with no driving aid everything off nice and raw.

Thank you, very nice to hear it :) It was not really a tuning effort, I did drive it a bit before for a few laps quite awhile ago, but when I enter the setup on the database, it was basically blind setup as I just used my experience driving it on default and adapt the real life setup data that I gathered :P Looks like the caster used, although didn't even reach the BMW Motorsport manual base setup used back in the day at 10 degrees still good in Pcars :) It's a shame Pcars didn't include the 6 speed gearbox that also were used in E30 Gr A.

Here is another setup made from real life data, basic Gr 2 / Gr 4 tarmac Escort RS1600 Mk1 :) I used the car homologation papers ( Mk1 ), car manuals, and a setup guide by a team who built and raced Mk1 RS1600 and RS2000 cars IRL.

Hope it drives great.

Well there is always a compromise to be from reality and sims as long it works that is the main thing . I will give the little fella a try later on in the week or the weekend right now I'm getting my speed fix in GT3 & GT1 class .

Will let you know when I tested it.

So I eventually gave up trying to put a qualy lap in spa in the rain, too much traffic and too much crashing in the 86 lotus f1 car

Starting from the back in the dry, a. The start line is in the wrong place unless I'm very much mistaken and secondly absolute carnage from the ai 50% of starts involve a side ways ai car and a 100% of them going slowly and pulling out. In the end I gave up and accepted the dnf having lost so many wheels Paul Hembery couldn't keep up.

Doing five laps of brands hatch in the gt4 category. Pitted at the end of lap 4 from first. Come out in second... So the trophy opportunity was gone... Couldn't see the leader.. Came round the last corner onto the pit straight and there's an ai car in the pits?? As I cruise past him I retake first place and the win. Who pits on the last lap????

The guy you idolize for one... (relatively speaking) [/joke] :p

Dude it's just a game

Yes, and we need to know as much as possible about the 'game' so we can tune the cars accordingly, which in turn, helps us enjoy the game more. Especially if we came up with a good tune ourselves using info like this 👍

After multiple hours on PCars yesterday with the G29 I finally feel confident again with a wheel, the G29 feels great and I love the way all of the cars drive.
