Ship date /= Street date. Street date is tomorrow.


I don't know when they changed that around, release date always meant.. you could go and buy it on that day. But for the past year or so, the street date is always a day later.
 
I think the Best Buy ad here in Grand Rapids said it will be in the stores by Wednesday at 2PM...

This is, by far, the greatest game of the series. Hell, you'll even forget there are other games in the series. This is leaps and bounds ahead of what PGR3 was. The physics are way different, cars actually have weight, the graphics are incredible, the sounds are great.


My only complaint is that the shift up/down buttons are strange. Y to upshift and X to downshift, and the only other control options make even less sense.

Besides that, so far, this game is amazing.

Just after 9am this morning, I ordered PGR4 from Play-Asia, since it is region free. However, my order will most likely arrive on Saturday or Monday.

Sounds are better, graphics are better, physics are aren't really comparable.

Lots of tracks, cars that should've been in Forza but weren't (FXX, Ultimate Aero, etc.)

I love the game, pretty much the first vehicle pack I got was the one with the Syclone in it...now all I have to do is unlock the ring and have some fun in the snow.
 
OK, so I bought the game a few hours ago. I completed some of the arcade races with some cars and the bike. It's PGR – it's always very fun, no surprise there. The graphics look like PGR3 with far less jaggies and slightly more detailed backgrounds. Looks great.

Until I started fooling around and set up a custom race. A Diablo GT in stormy, heavy raining weather, in New York City... holy ****ing ****. Switch into the in-car view, and it just looks even better. Having some good music helps as well. The car sounds great, the weather looks spectacular, everything was just top notch. That small part alone takes a dump on everything else I've played this year, from Lost Planet to Forza to Halo 3, and more.

Everyone should buy this.
 
How are the bikes? From what I've seen they went back to PGR2 style and I liked that more than 3. 3 was just pretty IMO.

The bikes... I dunno. I've only done 2 races with one low powered bike, so it's not like I have a final opinion on 'em. From what I've seen so far, though, they're competent.
 
The bikes took me two or three races to get used to, but they "fit" with the physics and don't feel awkward like TDU's.

A better photomode shot, I actually put effort into this one.
 
Just checked up on my delivery of PGR4 from Play-Asia on FedEx and well it says my copy of region free PGR4 will arrive on Monday.

I know that sometime sthe first release is region code free or that there are sometimes even 2 Asian version, one without regio code and one with, but... just to prepare you ;)

Edit : seems that this has to do with legal issues only. Maybe PA doesn't want to get into trouble with MS, since the game isn't released yet in Europe...
 
The only complaint I have about the game is they took the money aspect out of it. I liked having to buy my cars instead of unlocking packages of them with kudos points. But meh whatever the sheer awesomeness of everything else makes up for it.

I ordered it before the whole page changed today, in other words Microsoft are making Play Asia lie. In addition, Play Asia has sent out region free games published by Microsoft before and never had problems.
 
There are some region free copies on Ebay and I was going to purchase one today, then I rememberred that there is going to be a postal strike so I wouldn't recieve it until Thursday next week, when it should already be out.
 
Did you do that Lamborghini invitational yet? Absolutely hilarious.

Having issues with the Bloc Party one, there must be specific conditions.
I've platinum'd a race (during the day) and didn't get it, so I did a custom race at night (CCX vs Firebird :p) and won that and didn't get it, so I'm just going through career mode with only that song enabled. Just finished a championship and still haven't gotten it. Although there were no night races.

That song is god awful, btw.


Delorean thing I had no problem at all with (except finding a long enough track to get the car to go that fast)

If it helps at all, I got the Bloc Party achievment by winning the 2nd arcade race on Gold with the GNX.

...That's the race that I platinum'd with the song on. Arghhhhhh.
 
It's probably just any arcade race like a lot of the other achievments.

edit: I just did the Lambo invitational. That was really fun :lol: Too bad we can't race in stuff like that.
