On first party stores you typically can’t put pre-orders up without a release date, as pre-orders tend to only be allowed within a certain time period of release (something like up to 6 months before launch). You might be able to wishlist though.

If it turns out to be PSVR2 compatible on PS5 and hopefully a good implementation on PS5pro I will definitely be plonking money down if it doesn't suck. It would be nice to have a change from GT7...
 
Not sure if anyone else here noticed but the keyart appears to be on the Nordschleife, a track that’s not on their announced list yet.

How they classify the cars between the classes will be eager to see. From the trailer, we see the Gillet that's been entered under GT2 & G2, the Marcos under GT2, the Aero 8 that was also under G2, the MT900R that's been under G2/GT, & a 996 GT3 RS/R that looks like White Lightning's livery that's run in GT & GT2, but the 996 GT3 RS/R also entered within' N-GT. I'm probably over thinking it as I assume they may just simplify & group the cars that are most competitive with each other under just 1 class, but 10 classes is quite a variety.

launched in 2006, the game was already outdated, bundling with it the 2003 and 2004 season roster. Racing historians will note that this timing and licensing arrangement inadvertently resulted in certain high-profile cars that would go on to dominate GT racing throughout the 2000s were missing from the launch product. We can now rectify that and bring you an even better line-up of GT racers.

I'm guessing this also confirms the DBR9 as they're referencing GTR2 here, noting it excluded a high profile car that dominated through the 2000s. 2006 was the year Aston won the Manufacturer's Cup in the FIA GT.

Yes, went live today but it was the same with FH5, as well. When the news came that it comes to PS5, you could wishlist it.

I'm fine with Group 5 if there are no Super Touring. Love the discipline in PC2! Gimme that BMW 320 all day.
 
On that link from beezer of the car, track list, i noticed down the page a link to an Ian x post with one of his cars he got back a couple years ago it seems. A bmw m4, looks so nice with the color too.

Looks promising. The physics engine definitely has the potential to bring us a real gem. I definitely have my hopes up but I'm aware that there's also a good chance of the next sim that doesn't deliver.

I have Faith because I have been Watching and Listening to all the Posts as well as all the Devs on the Forum Boards of Project Motor Racing Website! They're talking about being so advanced from a tuning standpoint that you would be able to adjust the timing on the car! 😱 Either way with this Coming Out Rennsport coming out and Several Others it could be a Great Year for all Sim Racing Fans! Either way I am not gonna knock it till I at least Try Out but for everyone who is Sketchy go to the Website and read the Forums of the team that is playing the game and giving the devs feedback!

Give this Article a Read on the Whole Project Cars 3 debacle! He didn't want to call it PC3 and also didn't have any direct input at that time they were taken over by CodeMasters and anyone that has a family and has worked at a job they didn't like in order to support said family until something else comes along should Understand.....Anyways for what it's worth. I just feel that Project Cars 1 & 2 were Massively Huge for the Sim Racing Community especially considering they didn't have the Backing of some HUGE STUDIO. Like Polyphony, Turn 10, Epic, Playground Games, Etc. So for them to do what they did is Pretty Damn Impressive and let's not forget about Need for Speed Shift.

I was bitterly disappointed when Project Cars 3 released because it wasn't like the previous game. I played Project Cars 2 for 3 years and did many, many league races in all sorts of cars - not just GT3 machinery. I had big hopes for Project Cars 3 but because it fell so far short of the mark, hardly anyone bought it and I was forced to focus purely on my Gran Turismo league racing. That did not go to plan, so I quit it and did one last championship in Project Cars 2 before picking up ACC, which is pretty much where I've stayed for my sim racing shenanigans since. As much as I like ACC, the variety of cars is limited so I'm not able to see how I stack up to my competition in different machinery. That's what I really liked about Project Cars 2, so getting a proper sequel in the form of Project Motor Racing is exactly what I'm after. It's been a long time coming and I'm excited to see what's in store.

Eh, semi open world areas? Stepped back? Didn't he drive the media campaign and big up the game himself and got it totally wrong? And there aren't any semi open world elements aside from the test track.

Anyway, I'll approach with caution, looks fine, like the sound of the true track thing which sounds like an evolution of what other games have done, tugging at the nostalgia heart strings is a good idea but it needs to be executed the way it's being pitched or it will fall very short.

27 layouts doesn't sound like many when spanning potentially 5 decades of Motorsport, but we shall see, it could simply be 1 circuit has a variation and we're getting 26 locations, it could be 12 locations with an average of 2 layouts each, so it could be a good number, it could be a somewhat disappointing number. For context, GTR2 had 15 circuits, with 3 variations inside that to give 18 layouts, where's project cars 2 gave us 60 tracks and 180 variations.

The footage from TraxionGG didn't fill me a lot of confidence, looked overly twitchy on the wheel and didn't seem to have much control. It therefore worries me that this is going to feel a bit nervous on a controller, and in terms of console play ability and sales, that's not a good thing. Hopefully I can be proven wrong but I absolutely won't be preordering or buying at all if it doesn't play well on a pad.
 
As with every game, the proof will be in the final release.

Everything else is just words, for sure some teams have earned the benefit of the doubt. Others have to build up that level of trust.

Games aren't getting any cheaper, and in a world where there's so many options, you have to come up with something really compelling to justify the cost of entry.

Now I write this as a huge fan of PC1 and PC2 (and AMS2 using the Madness Engine), but pushing the blame over to CM to such a degree smacks of damage limitation, the issues with PC3 were not in the 'micro details' but in the fundamental approach, something not helped at all by the marketing approach taken by SMS around PC3 and the 'all the sim you could want' direction. Regardless of any CM involvement, SMS misrepresented what PC3 was, including Ian Bell himself.

It also ignores the fact that PC3 wasn't published by CM, but Bandi Namco (as the first two were), and that CM acquired SMS roughly 10 months before PC3 released, and I'm guessing a good 2+ years into the titles development.

Was this during the time where criticism on the official forums was getting met with deletion? Pretty sure Ian himself was also on these forums sharing development of PC3 before & after Codies took over.
 
Pretty sure mistake number one on PC3 was Ian hiring Kris Pope as the lead designer. And then telling him to make a successor to Shift 2 without him understanding what made Shift 2 what it was. So he made Motorstorm but on race tracks, albeit with generally decent if not great physics.

I vividly remember everyone being on board with PC3, up until the moment they announced that pit lanes won't be available at all in the game. That was like the nail in the coffin for a majority of people. Wasn't that what triggered Ian to say that PC3 was still all the sim you need, or something like that?

It was more than the pitlanes. I believe I recall there being an in depth article or Q and A or something and he talked about pit lanes not being accessible, tyre wear and tyre compounds not being a thing in the game, hyped up the sim aspects with the now infamous "all the sim you would ever need" statement along with a few other things. Obviously no tyre wear, no pitstops, no compounds and magic tyres that become wet when it starts raining for many, isn't all the sim we would ever need.

Add in the continued baffling omission of custom championships and Pc3 was destined to fail.

From their press release website "With action-packed 4-class racing across 27 scanned, global tracks, Project Motor Racing is a motorsport-first simulation." suggests to me 27 completely different race tracks/circuits, rather than layouts like an older version of the same track without a chicane for instance?

You are right that we need more confirmation on this, but MotoGamesTV was there talking with devs. Maybe he understood them wrong, maybe they are planning psvr2 support on later date. We will see.
