If a game has a good offline mode (the classical split between "quick race" and "Career") all I need is that the "quick race" means I can use whatever car in whatever track with whatever settings. I just love this "everything is available from the start" from PCars and I would hate a Gran Turismo kind of game where your progress in Career mode determines what you can do if you just go for a quick dash at the wheel.

About Online mode, again, I really hope that I can race my friends without any limitations coming from my "garage" or even progress in career mode.

In short, I'd like an engaging career mode and I don't mind whatever realism is thrust into my struggles to progress through it (results, money, learning how to tune/setup a car, doing the right strategic calls, luck). But if that gets in the way of what I can do in quick (offline and online) races I will be very dissapointed.

It does look interesting. All I'll say is that for me there's already almost THE perfect GT-focused game in ACC out there, so this will have to do something a bit different or really offer something brilliant to make me get really excited about it. What was great about PCars 1&2 was the 'every type of motorsport' sandbox experience and this does look a bit narrower in scope so far. I'll follow it with interest, and I'm happy that it's out so soon too.
ACC is great if you want to just drive contemporary GT cars, most of what's in PCR will be very different to those.

I don’t mind earning cars… but GT7’s way takes forever. The single player is pretty trash since the AI is garbage and usually you’d have to take a car once as a write off and figure out how you’re going to tune it to win the race.

I’m surprised so many people enjoy the single player portion of GT7. I found it quick, boring and a little infuriating sometimes losing my clean race bonus because of an AI move. Then you have all the single player content, licenses and time trials and circuit experiences. Makes for a boring day completing that stuff. I prefer to race around a track with others.

I agree, I hope it’s not like that, I do like to earn things, it gives it some value, but it should take so long and shouldn’t require you to do it on your own. Online lobbies in GT7 payout so poorly. I have 2000hrs in GT7 already, I should be filthy rich, but I’m not because I pretty much only ever race online.

Also - The Aston DB9R is now officially confirmed.
With that confirming that they're not sticking strictly to the 2004 entries for the GT class, I'm very hopeful for a C5-R (and the Maserati MC12 of course).

GT & N-GT look like the best classes for a career. No need for any of that modern hypercar/GT3/GT4 nonsense.

Just watching the latest Traxion video.
I guess the console modding approval system will work like it does on Snowrunner, where it gets approved for PC then filters down

Does Farming Simulator have modding on console? It would be the same as that if so, due to same game engine/publisher.

Yes it does.

From the Giants software website about mods in this game:

“With the launch announcement comes the exciting news of premiere level modding within the world of racing simulation: Thanks to the proven GIANTS Engine, the team confirms full mod support from day one, across all platforms.

Using the official GIANTS Editor, all user-generated content can be submitted through the in-game UGC-Portal, where every mod is tested by the developers before being made available for download. “Project Motor Racing taps into the same powerhouse modding ecosystem as Farming Simulator,” says Boris Stefan, CSO & Head of Publishing at GIANTS Software. “Racing modders will be able to tweak, tune, and transform their experience however they like.”

I wonder if they will do something similar to Grid Legends when you race online. Where you can fill your race with bits and others can join and take over the bots place. Also I wonder how career modes can you do at the same time. I think in PC2 it was 4. That will allow to figure out how what I enjoy most

I know Boris, I worked with him at Konami :)

He's a cool dude.

That would be great, didn't know it's possible in PC2 :)

Yeah I think I have 3 different careers i PCS 1 Ginetta GT5 , 1 Ginetta GT4 & 1 Group C.

I asked on the Discord, they confirmed you can have multiple save files for Career mode.

I will defend GT4 in that it’s pretty much back to basics GT racing. I know, I know, paddle shifters, TCS, ABS for those Gentleman race cars don’t make them as raw as old GT1 racers, but the less aero the better. ;)

If they add the Camaro or A110 I may give them a go.

I'd noticed in Farming Simulator 22 (not sure if 25 is still the same, it's not on GamePass yet) that people talking about mods were talking about the PC variant of the game, as they weren't all ported over to Xbox yet.

Hopefully PMR makes them on all platforms at the same time.

Not seeing much farmland in the footage yet, to try and determine if we'll have stuff growing in a seasonal manor, borrowed from FS. Could be pretty cool, especially in mods if we're racing about in the countryside, a few of their maps could be really good for a track or two.

Foliage in this footage is certainly looking nice.

Consoles will never get all the same mods as PC because of Xbox/Playstation guidelines. I just hope we get the good ones. PMR devs confirmed that custom championships can be modded into the career. Someone will do the late 90s BTCC seasons and I don’t want to buy a PC to play them!

It's my understanding that there's an additional approval stage for console mods and that not all PC mods will be available or eligible for console.

Here's the mod guide from GIANTS:

Quoting from the mod guide that @Famine linked:

How to get a mod on console

Our QA team will generally check every submitted mod for console compatibility. However, dueto various limitations, not every mod automatically qualifies for console publishing. For example, consoles cannot process scripts, which means that all mods with scripts cannot be consideredfor a console release.

If your mod is suitable for console publishing, our QA team will let you know. This also applies ifthe mod needs some minor adjustments to become console compatible.

Let's hope for the best and a lot of quality mods for us console players!

Yeah, I'm sure we'll also get tracks, their props and cars in the same way as FS has maps, fences etc to dot about and all the equipment to drive.

It was more advanced stuff like police with missions I'm sure I was looking into for my son, but we did manage to cut people out of car wrecks with a fire brigade mod on console, with missions varying from things like that to various different fire extinguishing scenarios - totally different from regular farming gameplay.

The Group 5 pack states 5 cars on PSN. Will we finally see the Lancia 🤔
Group 5 can mean a lot of things: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_5_(motorsport). To quote from PSN:
Race 5 fire-spitting icons from the Day 1 Group 5 Revival Pack.
Easiest is to assume - and I expect - that this means the Gen4 of Gr5, the Montecarlo, the 935, the Capri or the 320 Turbo but one could argue that quite of a few of the various Group 5 cars from the category's lifespan (1970-82) would fit the bill :)

Honestly, I thought initially that I'm gonna wait to buy the game until after it comes out but I may have to pre-order the Year 1 bundle...

Since they seem intent on bringing back a good chunk GTR's roster, I definitely expect the MC12 to show up at some point. I'll happily take the C5R as well, but my gut feeling is they'll use the C6.R if they want a Corvette from that era.
