How is it that in PC2 we had so many cars and tracks, and now it seems like we're a bit more strapped for those aspects? Was there a bigger budget for that game than for this one? I prefer quality over quantity, but right off the bat, I miss some tracks like Watkins and Road America.

TL;DR - as with the other vids - looks good, sounds good, handles well even on the PS5 controller, AI all over the place (to put it mildly, in some parts it looks absolutely awful).

If you're just going to hotlap or do multiplayer I think it looks great. If you're planning on doing the career hold off until the day 1 patch and see if that fixes the AI.

PC2 was built over PC1, so about 6 years of development. PMR was probably started a bit more than 2 years ago where they could not use anything from PC2 since it belongs to EA.

Also not sure if the team is smaller (or bigger?) than at SMS or if they used some outsourced work again, but that could also have an impact.

Well the main answer is simply that this game has nothing to do with project cars, yes some of the team are on this game and Ian Bell heads it up but it has nothing to do with it.

The working title for this game before it became Project Motor Racing, was GTRevival, and in the build up to that and then PMR, it's always been referenced as a successor to GTR, GTR2 and GT Legends. Focussing on GT racing specifically with modding support and solid groundwork for single player and online.

Yes the track count is lower than perhaps everyone would like but as has been stated already, budget likely plays a part there, look at how many circuits are currently unlicensed and under generic names, the marketing, yes there's been some but not a mad push. Relying on short trailers and influencer content.
 
Perhaps they're keeping the Ferraris separate until 2026? Maybe we'll get the Ferrari license once the three 10 car DLC packs get released?

Highly unlikely. We still have 23 or so cars to be revealed, it's the only conspicuous exclusion currently and we know they've been spotted at various points of development. They won't be kept separate or come later, they just haven't been announced yet.

They may not get announced at all of course but I'm confident they will be imminently.

More than Ferrari even, I hope they have the McLaren licence. The GT1 class page mentions Longtails more than once. I want to drive the F1 GTR and have it actually be on pace with its in-game competition.

They are part of the paid season pass. You can get the year 1 bundle with the game or it will be available separately but we don't know how much for yet.

Ah yes of course, I was going by the site which is still missing some of what has been spotted. It will be 83 including those last 3 packs you mentioned which is a dam solid starting point if you ask me.

I knew about Austin, and was honestly prepared to ignore it as just one bad apple because I really wanted to play this game (I'm a hypocrit, I boycotted Hogwarts Legacy because of Rowling but happily played Cyberpunk despite all the issues with CDPR). I didn't know that Ian Bell waves away any criticism of Austin's comments and defends the far-right. I'm not prepared to knowingly support people like that anymore. EDIT - deleted the links, the info about Austin Ogonoski (the game designer) and Ian Bell's comments are easy to find if people care enough to look.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t interested in PMR anymore (I enjoyed Project CARS 2 and I also enjoyed Project CARS 3, the latter mostly due to me convincing myself that it was never supposed to be a PCARS game and only ended up as one due to corporate tomfoolery), but it does suck to know that there are people developing this game who would rather have people like me ****ing dead. Same thing happened with BallisticNG, fantastic game ruined by toxicity and political extremism

I do have to say I was quite disapointed when Austin (aka james on PRC) was rewarded for his toxic behavior.

Pretty annoying as I spent my personal time to find his accounts and get them banned from WMD1 and WMD2 as he was not only insanely critical, but he was also leaking confidential info and screenshotting messages from the private WMD forum (including at least one of mine). Remember when he leaked Project Cars 2 screenshots? Because I do.

He was (is?) also a 4chan edgelord, so the Nazi meme stuff is to be expected. Recent screenshots of his "political" beliefs are terribly disappointing to say the least.

A main fixture of all my cars until recently (for obvious reasons) was a somewhat provocative picture of a girl I’d been seeing for a while, and I just kinda went from there. I didn’t really plan on her to be on there for long until people were legitimately crashing out of races just trying to get a better look. I’m not kidding, I owe at least ten truck wins to a picture of my now ex-girlfriend.

The whole “I Heart Scene Girls” stems from that epic tale, and that logo is what I use to identify myself everywhere on iRacing.

The "Scene Girls" is the livery that featured content & a link to girls allegedly underage.

So, defend the bigotry and ignore the pedophilia? Shame. I'll still play this, but through other means.

Thanks for linking these. I am out too and will make sure to never buy a product these guy's are involved with. Ian Bell comes of almost as bad.

Everyone who is like "I don't want my gaming ruined by politics" and truly does not sympathize with fascist or other inhumane views please read it and think about if this indifferent attitude towards fascists is really an option for yourself.
