So we can do these views again? Nice. I'm probably an outlier, but I really liked this view in PC2 & the fact it'd be adjustable is a big plus.

That is literally the view, yes!
@Nismonath5 are you playing on a base ps5 or pro?
Base PS5

I feel like the main problem for me isn’t the fact it might have a few bugs, frame rate issues etc to iron out - PCars 2 was a mess initially, ACC has frame rate hitches still, most games have teething problems, I can accept and even expect that - it’s that it’s still having these issues despite being down to 16 cars on track. To be honest, the 16 car cap has kinda drained away my interest in the game. I had these images in my head (that certainly weren’t discouraged by any of the pre-release PR) of big, multi-class grids a la PC2, but done better this time because tech is better and this was a truly ambitious project led by a bloke who’s annoying and makes big bombastic promises about his games but ultimately loves what he does and eventually delivers. But sixteen car grids just aren’t what I had in mind here, and that’s fine, I was dreaming about something that isn’t the reality, that’s not to say it’ll be a bad game. I’m sure the Lister Storm is brilliantly recreated to the nth degree and it’s challenging to handle lots of the cars and people will find a lot of good in this, and that’s great. It’s just not going to offer me what I thought it would offer and that’s a shame.

Frame rate on ps5 pro

Damn. I was hopeful with the initial footage on the Nord, with it staying pretty comfortable within the PS5’s VRR window. That rainy race though, that’s unplayable in that state. Better hope the day 1 patch works wonders, especially for the less powerful consoles.

I don't understand the logistics of that, how did they laser scan the tracks if they didn't license them, why have I got a vision in my head of them breaking in with bolt cutters at 3am and getting it done before the staff turned up for their morning shift

😂. Slightly simpler fortunately. The easiest way is to purchase the scan data, then you don't even have to be in the same country as the circuit.

The other way is to aerial lidar, can hire a plane to do this or use a drone, very common way of getting a lidar scan of a circuit or area. As long as you have permission to fly over the circuit then you're good to go.

So apparently you can't join lobbies that are already running. And I mean, just running practice. Once you start the lobby no one else can join.

This is prehistoric by this point. I can't even start to understand who thought this would be fine. This just kills lobbies, let alone leagues.

Who the f will create a lobby just to look at the screen waiting for random people to join, doing nothing?!

I think we'll have to see what happens AI wise on launch and the consensus of how they race. ACC is a decent example as it uses full physics on the AI as well, however, couple key things to remember with that:

1. ACC physics refresh at 400hz, PMR at 720hz. And that's before you get into all the detail of the engine between the 2.
Wow that's a BIG difference.

Never was a big fan of Ian Bell's games for the fact they usually launch with more bugs than a backyard in the summer, but I was somewhat interested in this, car roster being somewhat interesting. But... the base game is 125$ CAD on the Xbox store, and the game + full DLC thingamabob is 165$ CAD...
What The Hell Wtf GIF

Yeah, no thanks.

Indeed... Performance is concerning 😟, especially on the rain and we are talking about the PS5 pro...

Let's hope a day one patch could help, it lack polish for sure, there is still a lot of work to be done

Just wish it's a better version of pcars2, otherwise I will stick to pcars2

I spent all of today driving various cars, on various tracks. Too many videos to post here in one go, so feel free to check out my channel and see if there's anything that spins your wheels!

Here's the one I figure most people will appreciate, even if I was wrestling it pretty hard just to keep on track!

You are on standard ps5, don't you? Could you comment what we are reading about framerate on ps5 pro? Thanks

Thanks for the vids ! Seems decent on base PS5, does the performance suffer as well in the rain ?

That's what I'm expecting. A scary ride in those brutal machines.

I'd say they are not strict enough judging from the performance on the ps5 pro.

I have a feeling the reason they are not sending xbox codes is because series s is really really bad.

Most likely, although at this point in the console gen cycle, that can't come as a surprise to anyone.

Previous encounters with PC3 and the team from burnt my fingers… as well as a conversation I had with Ian.

However, I am looking forward to trying this soon and once I’ve fully upgraded my PC and a few updates/patches have come out.

The videos so far all have issues but a lot of promise of what it could be, Austin’s sort of convinced me on the structure of the game so once I’ve got my GPU sorted out in the next few weeks I’ll look into this.

They could skip xbox entirely or delay it until it's acceptable. We will see in 2 days.

Yeah but we know that obviously wouldn't happen. The XSX will more than likely mirror the PS5, which from what we've seen is absolutely solid. Aside from the rain FPS above but we don't actually know what the PS5 Pro Enhanced elements are so that could be affecting it. Base PS5 rain footage hasn't dropped that much from what I've seen.

The dude from the ps5 pro performance video told me the performance on base ps5 is about the same.

Edit: I know I'm being a bit (understatement?) negative, but I really want the game to be good and do well. I desperately want a new game to play online with an online structure that resembles what other games have and not the limited structure of gt7. The offline component was the frosting on top.

Doesn't this game have Automatic Blip or Heel/toe assist? Pretty much everyone keep locking up constantly, especially after downshifting?
Or is there no brake force adjustments?

Everyone seems to be struggling, or preparing a car to get weird seizures at any time...
The Mazda MX5 seems to be only "actually drivable" car from what i've seen.

Gamermuscle spent like 10h adjusting only a couple cars, but don't think his driving got any better, always kept spinning "just by steering too much". Often it seemed like the car had Lancer's AYC control cranked to x10, or something like that.

I am on a standard PS5.

Re the frame rate, I haven't noticed anything particularly ugly, regardless of weather or time of day.

When you load into the track there can be a bit of stutter, but it's all sorted out before you start driving, at least in my own experience thus far.
