I tested it for a few hours, including one hour spent adjusting the FFB on certain cars.
Well, I'm not going to beat around the bush, it's bad.
Just adjusting the FFB is a nightmare, there are more settings to adjust than on all PC simulators combined.
And you have to do it for EVERY CAR.
How am I supposed to know that a particular car is supposed to feel a certain way compared to a GT3 or an LMDH?
In iRacing, you hardly have to do anything, and it's the same for Raceroom, AMS 2, LMU, and rFactor 2.
Big FFB bug: at high speed, the steering wheel starts to make increasingly violent left and right turns, and with a DD it's very difficult to keep it steady.
The brake feel is mediocre.
It's impossible to know how close you are to the braking limit when braking hard.
You just slam on the brakes and that's it.
In terms of car behavior/physics, it depends on the car.
I tested the LMDH and they are awful.
They're supposed to have huge aerodynamics, but they just slide abnormally, which is illogical. They're supposed to be glued to the ground. And yes, my temperature was correct.
When cornering, I noticed some very strange behavior: the car was able to regain grip and turn correctly even when understeering. I've never seen that in a simcade before.
Sure, it's possible to adjust the cars, but it's like FFB, we're not here to spend hours getting everything right.
Speaking of LMDH, the sound is a disaster, the Peugeot is unrecognizable, I was shocked.
In fact, I get the impression that this applies to all modern cars.
Especially the GT3s that float around—I feel like I'm driving on AMS 2 in its first few months.
On the other hand, in terms of AI, there are some positives.
Unlike many simcade games (maybe all of them?), there's no boost, and even at 100% there's no rubberbanding effect.
On the other hand, it has the same eyes as the AI in GT7 or Forza Motorsport.
It barely sees us and can't even drive properly next to us.
And when they explain that the AI uses the same physics as the player, that's complete ********.
Go drive in the rain and we'll talk about it.
The AI doesn't have the same constraints as the player.
Oh, and the optimization is terrible and the rain looks really bad.
Project Cars 2 in 2017 looks much better in the rain.
