i´ve got it figured out now - i think
i did some 1,27´s now but the roundabout still holds some secrets for me.

ps: i did some 5 lap races and put a lap on the last two ai cars. i just wish i could drive this old skool celica

The handling seems a little random sometimes.

I was going to say if the real thing is anything like this,
first thing I'd do is weld that 🤬 differential right up!

I've got the throttle indicator on now and has helped a bit. (Go easy on the gas)

I can get 1:28.4 pretty steady now, but wow a 1:27, not for a while.
I fluked the 1:28.0. I've got it saved coz it might be my best time!

I don't mind sharing this, but if you hook a wheel up on the rumble strips round the roundabout you gan go a little faster without drifting out. ;)

Havn't been able to run below T2 mid 28's yet. Lots of work to do.

Much better now... But the roundabout makes me going crazy!!!
I will try Tacet technique later.
 
The Tacet Technique..thats funny :D

They key is the final right before the start finish straight. If you get that wrong you lose time all the way up the straight.

I think the timer speeds up along there as well ;)
 
i love when the car starts moving it´s behind when you come out of that last corner grrrrr.....
 
I've always got my fingers crossed it doesn't touch that damm wall on exit.

On my best run , the car is at 45 degrees as I'm pulling away from it.

I might get some laps in tonight, after the football of course!

Anyone from NL or Portugal? I'm a united fan, so I don't know who to choose from Ruud Van Nistelrooy or Christiano Ronaldo, both great players, Figo might swing it for me, so I might back Portugal.

Back to GT4P...I keep having to drive a decent car in between laps with the 240!

Its doing nothing for my lap times but at least it calms me down after the nasty little 240 slides into another wall...yet again :ouch:
 
I don't see myself getting T2s less than 1'30 :(
 
Still no improvement on my splits. I went back to it and put a few laps in, but my times were way off.

At the moment I drive a fast warm up lap, and then have a memory lapse on the flying lap and get all the braking points wrong :dunce:


T2 still mid 1:28s 👎
 
finally i got a 1,27.x AND i made it onto the straight without hitting that wall 👍

now i can go into the weekend a little more relaxed ;), going to see The Darkness on saturday - i´m sooo excited :dopey:

Yep, the race is hard, very hard. I´m sorry about this week´s combo. It sucks. 👎
I have problems to get even a T2 under 1'30. I will submit a time, but it´ll be seconds behind the pace.

don´t be so hard on yourself RSC` ;)
this combo really isn´t that bad, try the same with a viper on street tires - that´ real hard!!
 
Into the 1:27's you lucky man toler, looks like you're well in with a chance 2 win this one.

Even though I have a 1:28.0 in the bag, I know I can go faster now round the roundabout than I did then, so its really a slow 1:28.0 :irked:

Its bugging me that I've taken 4 seconds off my warm up lap, and I still suck on the flying lap :crazy:

this looks like a fun race.
the 240 ZG and street tires are made for each other,
and driving this combo in New York doubles the pleasure.

if you guys don´t mind i´d like to join the race.

anyway, you might have guessed that i already did some laps in the Fairlady (personally i prefer the old name Datsun 240 ZG ;))
and after a quick check my T 2 was a 1´26.536

a little more practice and the 1´25 will flash up soon :)

T13R might put up a decent challenge for you Flinx, but I'll be happy with a 1:27.anything.

1'26.5 is already very quick, but I guess I don't know the New York track very well yet. But if I do get there, I don't think I could manage going lower to a 1'25 T2. Will be very tough to catch you this race. I still don't have any updates since the last time I posted, and tonight I'm gonna take it easy, because 21 years of my life are gone, and now I start a 22nd year :dunce:

Arghh! Anyone else using the new 900 degree logitech having issues with part throttle while using the Datsun 240? Constantly having to reset to get full throttle back and Its driving me nuts :crazy:
Managed to finally bust into the 1:27's (only just! :grumpy: )...will continue to perservere and hopefully find an improvement in my time before the deadline 👍
 
Deadline earlier.... :sick:

I need more time, not less.

I'm just getting worse and worse on this one, I'm still changing my mind about where to brake, and what line to take. I'm trying early hard baking then easing off to avoid skid, or slow gentle braking that increases, wide lines, tight lines etc

But my lap time is always the same :confused:

Managed to get T2 down to 1`27.7 but went through the roundabout really slowly.

Toler are you still sliding the car around to get that time? I'm trying a smooth is fast approach, but it doesn't seem to help.

Also what is your T1 at these days?

I just can't gain any time on this, I only lose time... :grumpy:
