Does anyone that has this demo know if you can use the 900 degree steering mode on the Driving Force pro wheel while playing? If it does, I may have to find a copy to try it out:)

Yes you can. There's even a special menu to configure/calibrate it properly.

Be advised tho, there are only 2 cars in the Toyota demo. Both Electric cars. And you have a 2 mins time limit. So don't expect much. Its beautiful tho ;)

Well I got one off of Ebay for $8.
NTSC versions are cheaper than the PAL Geneva disc. All of them reach 30 € (that's about $30) on eBay. I know, I got one. Far too expensive for 2 cars, 2 tracks and races only 2 minutes long. It's not for players, not even for fans : only GT-addicts can buy this.
When PD knows the price some pay for a disc which actually is only a demo of a preview of the real game, they'll charge $200 when GT4 is finally released

Well, all new PS2 games here in the US are $50 upon release. Considering the demand for GT4 in the US (3 frickkin' years with no new product:rolleyes: ) and the spare-no expense production costs to make the game, I would not be surprised if GT4 ends up being $60 or even (a unlikely) $70 upon initial release. Unless they let us have GT4P for the summer. (yeah right, who am I kidding?:irked: )

Edit: most of the GT4 Toyota demos have been going for $12-15, but I found this one with Buy-It-Now for $8. People like to bid it up too high IMO. Ahh the magic of Ebay:lol:

We dont get much down in Aus though you US should think ya selves lucky

I thought you guys got GTC. And it has been confirmed that Aussies are getting GT4P. So that's two more GT games that you are getting and we are not.

Living in the US has advantages in other aspects of course.;)

just got the demo of ebay and I have been waiting anxiously for it .....

Can't wait to finaly try out GT4!!!!!

I just got the demo on ebay! I won the auction! i almost SHlT my pants, anywho. Is the demo time regulated? thanks

Crap.....bought mine for 14.50....
Thought I had it for 7.50, then this jackass comes and challenges me.... Dam gambling..

Glad to know that I'm not the only one buying the demo on eBay... I paid $15 for mine, free shipping. Still waiting for it though. The 2 cars, 2 tracks deal doesnt bother me... but does anyone know if the time limit can be cracked or bypassed somehow? Just wondering... also, while I've got your attention, I really want the Prolouge edition, but I dont want to take apart my PS2 to modify it... but I did see a memory card type of hardware addon that you put in your memory card slot, and with it, you can play import games... I was wondering if those really work, and will it be worth it?

Just to add, i actually want a Modchip, but I have NO soldering experience whatsoever.... and I'm really worried about screwing up my PS2... :(

I don't know about games but such devices work on DVDs pretty well.

I wouldn't go soldering modchips into your PS2, or even opening the thing, unless you really know what you're doing. Take it to a pro.

If you screw it up, then you can get a new one with a network adapter for 150. :)

Um... I don't know if you can anymore, but I got my Toyota demo for free on the Toyota website, just request information on the Prius, and in like 3 or 4 days it was at my house. there was some other thread on this.

Has anyone taken a look at the data on the disk to see if there are other playable tracks? Cars? Does anyone know where I can get the program to do this myself?

Thanks!

According to the pic Viper Zero posted it's a DVD-ROM, seems an awful waste to just have two tracks, two cars and a few other pieces on a DVD. I know they're cheap but still.

What files are listed as present?

It essentially has all of the prologue tracks on it. Assisi, Fuji, New York, Tsukuba, Grand Canyon (the original one from Prologue), Grand Canyon North (the tiny grand canyon loop from the license tests) and "L_grandcanyon4", which I assume is the actual grand canyon track displayed in the demo.

So, can we access these tracks somehow?
I would like most to disable the time limit. I want to drive for more than 2:00. I can not complete the two laps on Fuji. The furthest I have gotten was about turn two on a second lap. Does anyone have the knowhow to disable said limit using a device such as a Codebreaker or GS? I would love to see codes!

How hard can it be to search for a variable set to 120 and then 60 a minute later, then just force it up to a few thousand? Granted I haven't gone messing with PS2 codes but I made quite a few for the first PlayStation.

The main thing I'm concerned about is removing the time limit.

But hey, I wanted to bring something else up... what times have you guys gotten at Grand Canyon with the toyota demo? My best time so far is 1:41:389 I just got the demo today though so I'm still working on it.

I have the demo set up at my work, and while messing around got a 1:37:XXX

1:37? that's pretty cool. The main thing, I think is turning off traction control... Are you using the DS controller or a wheel? I know it takes practice but I'm wondering if you did anything in particular to help get that time.
