that 1up article kinda confirms what i've said all along about the online thing... KY said at TGS that it was due to "infrastructure". this article confirms that that's BS, and that i was right all along. it's not because of network infrastructure, it's because for him lag would ruin the game. hey this is fine, but all he needed to include in the game is a HUGE warning that said that latency could change the game in negative ways, and let the people decide if they still wanted to play online or not, lag will not be better in 10 years, it's just not gonna happen. at least not untill we have an internet that doesn't rely on something as slow as the speed of light...
heck, i even suggested "ghost" mode for laggy games or where you wouldn't be able to crash to oponents, etc. but hell, no point on repeating my suggestions, you can find them in old threads.
this is the same reason why the korean game might include online in the first place, no lag there whatsoever because of their awsome connections evrywhere and the fact that they are so close to eachother.
