I don't know how finacially set, you guys are(except Solid ). I still know few people who's still waiting to get a PS2! They have steady jobs, but it's just that their priority isn't PS2(One has new girlfriend every few weeks, so you figure it out ).

Why should Sony bare the cost of a people who are too hesitant to buy into new technology? They shouldn't, but I know they have to. But, I don't like that reality. If sucks, for both me, and Sony and their investors.

I can see your side, but I don't care. You don't care for Sony's side. You don't care for my side. You don't care for all the sides of those you can view digital only equipment. So, why the hell should we care for your side? Why is our side so "wrong" and your side so "correct.?"

Teens and young adults are very capable of saving enough for a DR TV set, but you don't want to. Good! Don't!

You don't need a HDTV set, just a "digital ready" set that can cost as little as 600 bucks. Or, 250 bucks if you buy a computer monitor that could display 720 progressive images. Is that how much HD-Ready TV cost these days? 600 bucks? How much you guys wanna bet, that by the time PS3 would be in "circulation" to most people, those HD-Ready sets would be under $300? Might not seem possible now, but in late 2007 to 2008, it should be that cheap barring inflation. When I first got into DVDs, the cheapest DVD players were $300. Now, it's like less than third of that. This happens to all new electronics technology.

I bought a Panasonic 47" Widescreen, probably little over couple of years ago. BestBuy was asking $1,800, talked them into throwing in the BestBuy Warranty(worth $300). Last time I saw the replacing model in the ad, it was just over $1,000.

Well lets be honest, it doesn't exactly hold Sony back to support both HD and normal TV.

The thing is though, people would rather have a new console then spend alot MORE money replacing a perfectly good TV set. I know that I sure as hell wouldn't replace mine. You make it sound as if decent analog sets have terrible picture quality which is frankly crap.

I bet if you looked hard at what you spend all your money on, you could easily save for whatever you want.

Even if that were true, I still wouldn't want to spend it on a pointless new TV.
