It is not really fair to say that, The Last Of Us has gone gold and they obviously split off a team to work on this extra DLC. They said the game is 8-10 hours long and that sounds about right for a game of this nature.

They announce a season pass now so that when we play the game and enjoy it, we go buy the pass because you know it is there. I highly doubt the making of the pass takes anything away from the main game, especially in terms of singleplayer. Singleplayer dlc is usually content that would feel out of place if they tried shoehorning in to the main game, a lot of people want singleplayer dlc for games like this anyway.

Naughty Dog spent years making this game, this isn't Capcom sticking dlc on the original game's disc, it isn't day-one dlc, it is just a developer producing extra content for a game that they have confidence in.

If this singleplayer stuff was available on release date than it would be a different story but I really don't see the big issue. Naughty Dog has yet to release early dlc for a game so if they stick to that plan then I'm fine with that. Unless of course you want to argue that dlc shouldn't be allowed, remember, the game won't have as big of an interest a few months after release, it's business not being greedy.
Ouch will only be renting this now. Thought for sure it would have been much longer.

Season Pass confirmed for The Lat of Us, with one of the DLC's being single player. Naughty Dog has officially joined the greedy pigs club :grumpy:... Here's hoping they burn to the ground.

Yeah. Just noticed it on their website. Don't know why would they do that since they been working on the Last of Us for 3 years...

Ok, they killed the game for me.

If you are not interested in the story that game is telling then why bother at all?

I want to play this game for the story, not some stupid DLC and multiplayer showed into this game by force. So ill buy it anyway.

The thing i missed the most in new Tomb Raider is that DLC were pore and focused only on multi player, when in Last of Us one DLC actually extends adventure for few hours i hope. 👍

Naughty Dog bring it ..... x3 👍

Oh yea, pay to win is a bit silly, those BF3 unlock packs annoyed me.... In regards to sp dlc, they already delayed this game once (first time ND has ever done it) so I am pretty sure they are finished with the main game and have good reason to make extra sp stuff for dlc, maybe it doesn't work relative to the main game ?, maybe they had a great idea too close to when the game went gold ?. I guess I see your point about releasing details about it this early but it was probably done purely to get the word around so when it comes out people know it is there.

ND said that the game would be 12+ hours long which is dev speak for around 9-10 hours imo.

Probably going to pay for my preorder this weekend.

EDIT, damn some of you guys need to get over yourself, you are just not going to buy the game now because they implement a season pass ?, wow.

I still expect to buy the game, mainly because I'm interested in seeing if the AI and story is as great as we've been let to believe. But look at the gaming industry, and tell me that there isn't a problem. And with ND doing a Season Pass like this, they are part of the problem.

Part of what problem ?, they worked on this game for years and it is arguably the most anticipated game of the year based on previews. It probably cost upwards of $100 million US to make and you see all these studios shutting down because their games aren't selling enough. I am not saying that you shouldn't have an opinion on some of the issues within the gaming industry of which there are definitely a few, I am just saying that you should put it a little more into perspective. I just don't really understand where you are coming from ?

The rest of this posts can be treated as a general post as opposed to a response/reply. I'm getting sick of people whining over the season pass for this game......

Lets look at the facts, ND announced a season pass, 3 pieces of DLC, 1 sp and 2 mp, you also get a 90 minute documentary on the making of the game. Notice how vague this information is ? Now when you announce something it doesn't mean you have finished it, hell they could barely be halfway through making the first pack (look at the BioShock Infinite season pass for example, still no content). Now, when you develop a game you spend the last 1-2 months or so polishing it up, bug testing, more QA testing, certification that sort of stuff.

The game has gone gold and will be in stores in two weeks, you really think they would delay the game again in order to shove in more story content that they most probably thought up within the last couple of months when they were within crunch time ?. That is just unreasonable imo. As for the maps, practically every game with multiplayer has multiplayer dlc and the same argument could be used here, they put a bunch of maps in the game and thought up more in the lead-up to going gold with the game. You are not being forced to buy this dlc remember. Also, being one of this year's most anticipated titles, there is a ton of pressure on ND to deliver again and none of this season pass content will have a part in reviews for the game. If ND is confident in their game (which they definitely are) then what consumers/reviewers receive will be a complete experience that won't be limited by a season pass. They want great reception.

I don't know if you read my last post but ND had their first ever game delay with this game, I don't know about you but that tells me they are very serious about making this game the best they can. If the season pass story content was crucial to making this the complete experience and was thought up earlier in development they would have delayed it again. People are going on about how "games should be shipped in their entirety". The game WILL be shipped in it's entirety, you will be getting the original game how ND intended it to be. They know that not everyone will buy the season pass, they aren't stupid. If the dlc was ready early enough, and was good enough to be part of the original game they would have shipped it with the original game so everyone gets the best experience.

I know this doesn't so much apply to these boards but I am sick and tired of seeing people saying "oh guess I'm not buying this game anymore, ND are money hungry blah blah blah". Get a grip. Fine don't buy the game, miss out, if you consider a developer like ND, with a pedigree like their's, to be money hungry and not release complete experiences at launch then I really think you should have a good look at what you are saying.

This can be treated as a statement as it doesn't all apply to this thread, just my honest opinion regard TLOU's season pass.

I can assure you that the game didn't cost anywhere near that much. Reason being that if it did, they would use it for marketing, same as every other company. Very few games get above 50 million.

Game is out in June 14, that's Friday, and it's going to be magic weekend :)

Yea if you pre-ordered God of War Ascension you get to play the demo. DONT PLAY THE DEMO! People have been saying not to play the demo, so DONT!

Apparently the demo doesn't represent the final game very well, at least that's what I heard on the videogamer UK podcast.

TBH if I had access to it I would probably play it anyway but that's just me.

I really enjoyed it. There aren't really any spoilers in the demo. I've been purposely avoiding info on the game for a while and don't feel like I learned anything new.

It did confirm for me that it's going to be an awesome game though. It was tense the whole time. Controls felt good and I enjoyed the mechanics. Only downside is it may sit unplayed for two weeks after release. My wife will be on a trip and wants me to wait to play it. Maybe multiplayer during that time. Is co-op confirmed?

If you're not playing it for two weeks don't pre-order or pay £40 odd quid for it. Wait and see if it drops in price.

Playing demo that doesn't represent full product may cause reluctance to the game. I'm still waiting :) for full game. Those two weeks seem to be waiting hell :/

2 weeks is short. Times flies so fast! ;)

So will that demo ever be on the store for everyone? I really want to try this out before I buy it because I really don't think i'm going to like it. I never really like zombie games.

The game is supposed to be around 26gb incase anyone else was debating whether or not to get it from the PS store.

If you preorder you the sights and sounds pack, a theme, and the game is supposed to be available at midnight for download. Plus, once your download is over 50% through, you can start playing the game before it's finished downloading.

Keep in mind though, that although the download size is 26gb, you may need 52 gb free on your hard drive total, to download and then install it just like any other PSN game. So even after it's downloaded, you'll need another 26gb to install the game, although the game won't actually take that extra 26gb away from you, you still need it free to install. I think, maybe the new installer for this game will be different.

Luckily I got a 1tb hard drive a few weeks ago, and still have 500gb left so I may get this on PS store. Save me a trip to gamestop and it'll be ready for me when I wake up if that 50% thing works out. A full 26gb would probably take a full 24 hours to download for me. Slow 3mbps download speeds
