gawd guys, what has happened here? can't we return to the times of the 360 Modena? you all remember that comp, right? as I point out, half of the people that participated aren't here anymore, but the new talents dont seem to be capable of doing anything but rice. hell, even Minorke, the "ricer-per-excelence" of this place is cramming more interesting stuff than all of the "new"ones together! I dont want to be the ******** here, but damn its so true. I just miss when Chaser could be touched.

umm hello. i jut got photoshop and came across this forum and i thought id try my hand at this. if i seem crap compared to others, then just ignore me...lol, im not entering this one though.

Don't mean to question Chaser's talent because there's clearly a lot of it there, but his entry is far too modified. As Suz said there's hardly anything left of the original pic aside from the background and maybe a few body parts. Isn't there a line that can be drawn? I mean people could paste a completely different car over the top and then modify that. It'd look impressive, but surely that's not right. Just a thought. I've just been put off entering this week purely because i get the impression that people are just going to vote for Chaser's entry. It looks amazing to be sure, but it might as well be a completely different picture.
 
umm althought im new, and my oppinion prolly dun matter to u guys, i can c were donbenni is comming from, it seems reall quite easy to just paste a new car on there, and make it fit. i would rather work from the oribinal up, rather than paste a completely different car on in an attempt to win a competition.
im not questioning chasers talent either.

Let's have fun with the weekly competitions, please, and just give "advice" to the people who post of what they can do to brush up there photoschop skills.
Not everyone has that much time to make some beautiful art like glacius do, but some people have great ideas. And it is always nice to see what others think.
 
Yes i am agree with cano about the past, the competition ghost
is far away now, :indiff: maybe the choice of the cars to chop?? :scared:
but it is not easy to do right for every one.
I hope that it will changed that we cane have fun into the competition again.
I make chops for fun and if i win than i am happy and when i not into the top three i stay the same person,for me count only particite more than winning!!

So that's my point of view here :)
 
I hope that's why everyone enters too, minorke - for the fun of it. I enter when I have some free time to brush up my Photoshop skills for my 'proper' job, but I agree with you and Cano that the general quality has taken a serious nosedive in recent weeks. It seems that the majority of people are satisfied by being really restrained and unadventurous. Like I said though, if that's what people are happy doing then good luck to them.

EDIT: Ah, I just read those posts before. GG, you think I didn't work from the original up? Rather I just cut and pasted a new car on there? Pull the other one mate! Although I didn't build the car using the original parts of the car (which I may add I usually do) this time I built it completely from scratch using parts from cars which I thought looked coherent together and then modified them to flow better. I'm not sure twhat I'm trying to prove, but this cutaway shows that my concept it based very close to the proportions of the original pic.

Your first pic sort of proves my point. The second pic is better, but i can't BELIEVE you missed the windscreen Xenon banner!! Ewwww, sloppy ;)
 
Sloppy?! Haha it was a tongue in cheek chop! How can a monstrousity like that possibly be better than anything, ever? It was just a joke chop! ;)
 
drifter- get rid of the lense flare.. then it'd look cool :D (i like the color)

chaser- thats a really cool way to show the original.. but it destroys the amount of work u went into to create the yellow version.. its like u put the ghost of the original thru the new version.. its cool lookin. (but maybe use lower opacity?)
 
Thanks Suz., but I was just trying to show that I based that concept around the proportions of the CRX, and didn't just paste a car over the top.
 
chaser, i never said that u didnt do all of the work. its just that at my skill level at this present time i find it hard to believe lol. but ur demonstration proves ur point.
how do u do the paint like that?

as for the demonstration of how you made the yellow car, what I really cant belive is that it would be questionable that you used the base picture. there is SO much of it there...
