psu problem?

I know this isnt the right area for this topic, but i figured id post here because you guys seem like a helpful bunch. My pc shutdown on its own today and wont restart. Could it be anything other then the power supply died on me.

That would be my starting point to look. Psu's are cheap enough but like everything else they wear out.

Grab a new one.

Yes check the PSU first. Also check the processor if there's a bent socket pins.

I think that it would be the PSU as well. Personally, I wouldn't think it would be the processor because it would still be able to start because the BIOS and basic instructions are on the motherboard. I would say that in theory it would start up but just stay at the BIOS. Although might be a decent idea to look anyway. It's also a good time to put down some new thermal paste if you haven't done so for a while (I think about every year it should be replaced dependent on what paste you're using). If you do have to buy another PSU, only buy one from a brand that has a good reputation for PSU's (Corsair, Be Quiet!, Silverstone etc.)

I got the PC running last night with the old psu, but now i dont have any signal going to the monitor. I did pick up a new corsair 600w psu to hook up tonight and see what happens.

Well it ended up being my graphics card. Threw my old card in and it worked right away. Hopefully I can get it replaced by Evga.

Im gonna swing by bestbuy after work tomorrow and pick up a 770. I know ill pay a little more but im already ancy to get back up and running. Even then i still have a brake pedal problem to takle. When it rains it pours.

And the more competition the better. It will make me chase that 1.56 alot harder. 👍

What do you mean "pay a little more", BB will price match a number of online retailers - Amazon, Newegg, and others. May not be more...

Sorry to hear you are having so many probs of late buddy. If its any consolation you are still .5s ahead of me, but it's nice to see some more American flags, and GTP'ers, on the first page of the leader board..

Went and picked up a 770. Now i have to figure out my pedal problem.

Well i got tired of waiting around on fanatec to respond so i went ahead and bought a g27. At least i'll be back up and running. If they ever decide to respond to my email and fix my pedals great. This will be my first logitech wheel. I got it for 179.00 wich i thought was a good deal.

Its used, but even used i think thats a pretty good price. And on top of that my pedals started working again today.
