You can't really blame me for being frustrated. I would have loved to have been in front of it all with you guys (apparently it was fun up there), but I just can't figure this car out at all.

Damn Twissy, that's a great qualifying lap!

Sorry I missed it, got in really late from Cali and had to gun it to work, looked like a great race 👍

I was soooo hoping the wife would say "sure go ahead and race tonight" when I brought it up but it was a no go. Hate that I missed the race.

Man, do I love my wife. Mow the lawn, install new light over kitchen bar, and no grief. She even came down to watch a little.

w3rd...go to the in-laws mother's day cook-out; get home by 8; race while she messes about on her laptop. :D 👍

Glad for the most part it sounded like a good race. I didn't get back home till 650 PAC time. Was really looking forward to that one. See you guys at the next track.

Great racing last night 👍 Really like the Moto GP version, much better IMHO.
Race 1 was fun trying to not crash.
Race 2, I figured I was ready to race and I ended up crashing.... And missing a great battle :(
Not all was lost though, I couldn't run laps in the 4s without a draft so I couldn't keep up anyway.

And darn.... Behind Tim in points.

What kind of times are you guys roughly running at Deep Forest if you don't mind me asking? Did a quick practice session tonight and my best was 1:26.147 and I know I can break into the 25s.

Guess who's back in action? :)

Good, maybe you can compete with Twissy.

So, how does the reserve roster work if you have more people on standby than slots available.

Well reserves are just that. Unfortunately if we have a full room of 100% committed people, they get priority. If there's only 3 spots for reserves and 5 want in, it's first come first served.

Understood. Since there are only four slots available if all the 100% registered drivers show, and nine reserves, I was wondering how the reserve worked.

Thanks.

Bdub,

sent you a pm.

What a great weekend this past week, I really enjoyed the races. I had a big long race recap all typed out but deleted it somehow so here are the cliff notes.(this one turned out to be pretty long also) :sly:
Qualified 6th, which was a bit disappointing since I was 2nd in the pre race warm up, couldn't put together a good lap when it counted. First race I had to get on the brakes a bit more than I thought going into the final hairpin first lap. Was all out of sorts, took me a second to get straight and get going, but by that time I was sitting in 10th fighting to hold off the 11th place guy. I knew that I needed to be in the top six to get a good spot on the grid for the second race, so that was my goal. Had some great battles making my way up the field, didn't see very much contact, seemed everyone was racing together pretty clean for the most part. Made my way up to 6th and broke free of the battle for 7th, but the gap to Watson was too much to overcome, so I just settled into a comfortable pace, thinking 6th was as high as I could get. Little did I know Watson would make a mistake while working thru some lapped traffic, all of a sudden I was only a few seconds back from him, kicking myself for not pushing harder mid race, may have been able to pick up another position.

Since I finished 6th in the first race, that meant I was on pole with a bunch of fast mothers behind me. Watson got through first, and then I had RT all over me in my rearview, which makes my palms sweaty just thinking about it:scared:, seemed to hold them off pretty well for a couple laps, until I made a mistake exiting the moto chicane. That was all it took and went from 2nd to 5th in about a half of straight. Held on for 5th giving me a decent result of 6th place overall for the weekend. 👍

Also wanted to add I will have to miss this week as I am heading to New Orleans for a Subaru BRZ ride and drive, pretty pumped about being able to get behind the wheel of Subarus new FR platform.

Jason, FYI I'll be in Vegas on a business trip this Sunday.
Sad considering I've always had fun at deep forest but I'm not going to be here this week.

That's fine. Hopefully some of the reserves show up to fill the grid. Another driver just dropped entirely, so we've got his spot to fill.

Edit: Thanks for the video! I'll start posting these in the OP....

I also noticed on the results sheet that in both of my races my fast lap was a 105.563, when I clearly remember running a 105.2xx in the second race. Not that this is a problem, just not sure why it didn't show my fast laps.

I'll definitely be there. I signed up as a reserve only because I haven't tested my slower connection in a race room.

I could change to a full time driver if you like, I shouldn't have any problem making any of the upcoming races. I wasn't sure about my schedule, thus why I signed on as a reserve.

I'll still be there. Ignore my overreaction after the race guys!

Getting my network back to full operation. Just about there. Count me in as reserve unless I post otherwise between now and then.

Practice room open
1472-6399-8365-2931-3616 closed

Give it a shot when ready bdub. Room will likely be open a few hours.

PB 1:26.318 There is more there but it's a knife's edge between getting through the turns fast and sliding off. I can get a fun braking drift into turn one and so long as let off at the right time it settles in nicely and cuts in to the apex just a tad late and I get fairly good exit speed. Of course without some of you speedy gentleman to compare to I have no idea if it's good enough.

I expect pole will be in the 24s

No sweat. Thanks for the test. Now we need to test the open lobby. Let me know when you're back from N.O. and have time and we'll try it out. Good luck with that ride! 👍

For anyone else that's interested,

After attempting to update the firmware on my router, it died. Bought a new Linksys EA3500 and got it all set up. No port forwarding and PS3 is set to"Easy" network setup. Opendns servers are set on router. bdub added me to his friends list and I was able to join his lounge and see him on track. Ran a few laps with him to check things out and it's seems to work. Will test some more next week in open lobby to make sure that works. Hopefully will not have any issues with anyone else this weekend.

Darn, the main track I wanted to race on I now can't make...
I'm not going to make this race.

Hey guys,

I no longer have internet until next thursday, so unfortunately we'll have to postpone this weekends race. Everything will just be pushed back one week.

Sorry if this creates any problems, this was sprung on me this morning. :indiff:

works for me as it means I won't miss deep forest ;)
