Well, I had no tires since I got damge from a spinning car on lap 15.. So had no choice but to try to pull it off in one loong final stint.
And sorry if I did not let you and Wardez pass so easy.. Since we raced for position and all.
I understand that you wanted to pass to chase down Aderrrm.. But hey.. Your fail can't be put on me. It's not like I was driving unfair.. One time, my fronts did not grip comming in to spoon, and you turn in towards apex even though you knew I was there.. I hit your side, you went a bit wide.. But I still let of, and let you pass.. Seriously.. What are you on about? Jeez

I told you bro, you have the right to defend of course but when you are going so damn slow (because of the tires) its too naughty fighting for position like that. The only thing you managed is bumping Eddie off the track and then me almost off. In our case when i saw you went for the dive on the inside i was just waiting for the inevitable to happen. If i hadn't turned to the corner the way i did i would still be spinning my way out of the sandtrap..

EDIT: I see many people are reacting to my view on my little incident with Dennis. If you are interested in understanding what i am saying and its not clear by my verbal explanation, watch the race. It's not a simple ''fernando is faster than you'' case, its more like ''you are driving with no tires, you're 5secs slower per lap and there are 4 laps to go, cut me some slack and save the dive in the inside to recover the position you just lost.''

I just would like to have an official stance on this. And from then on, I'll make sure to stick to it. For me, one thing is "defending" and something different is "blocking".

We could stick to the "one defending move, one move to go back to the racing line" rule, maybe.

and on the heat 2 start i was 4th and mule was pretty determined to start on the left side and muzz wasnt sure what to do either so i just stayed inline with muzz as did everyone behind me it seemed.... (if i were 2nd id of moved straight over to the right)

Yer I just stayed left to stay in line with pole as I was #3 on the grid. Saw right free but stayed put in line where I ought to be.

[Edit] Oooops... Sorry 4 double post.

Race report.

Qualified in 6th.. Was discussing 3 vs 2 stop strategy with Remy just prior race.. I decided to await how the race turned out, but initially went for a 2 stopper since I had a good tune for my tires.
Formation Lap and everything was flewless, and the start as well. Thanks to the guys in the front who kept a steady pace. 👍
Remy, who started behind me, in 7th got a gap on my inside going in to T1, and since he's my team mate and all, I just let him pass.. Sadly, he and biffy followed eachother out in the sand in the middle of dunlop.. I watched the replay from Remy's bumper view.. And boy, the pace was intence.. The off was not major.. But it was like zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom.. Dead last in a matter of seconds.. All semed to stay away from any incidents because of it as well.. 👍
But this made me climb in to 5th, and the "Big 3" was leading the pack with CSL behind who kept up really well.
I don't remember if it was that early, but SuperSic had an off in 130r, and I passed him too.. So I was now running in 4th.
I had a good pace, and also had an eye out for Wardez who was behind me in 5th. He also got pass some of the mayham clean it seemed.. Then I think GTP_timeattack and GTP_Aderrrm must've collided or something.. Also in 130r.. So with both of them pitting around lap 5-6, I was now 2nd, behind CSLACR and ahead of Wardez. By this time the 3 of us ran similar times, and the gap was just enough for all of us to drive in fresh air. So I think we had a decent pace.. Perhaps not super quick, but very concistant.

When it was time for my first stop I was pretty close to CSL, and we pitted at the same time.. I got held up because I was too close to him.. So when his car slowed down to enter it's box, my car did as well.. No biggie though.. cause I still felt I had a good shot at a podium now when the 3 aliens had 1 off each. But I knew I had to race flawless from here on.
So when exiting the pits, GTP_timeattack, who had pitted a few laps earlier due to his off came up between me and CSL.. So I lost some ground to him.. But then CSL cought up to GV, and with GTP_timeattack behind him I thought that he had to loose some time here for sure.. But GV had a bad exit out of Degner 2 and CSL managed to slip by clean and fast. By this time GTP_timeattack had worn out his tires a bit more than me, so I cought up to him at lap 14. And by the end of lap 15, towards 130r (You guys see wher I'm going with this? ), I got a good run in his slip. But I backed off before 130r to allow some air on my front. It was a well planned move, and I cleared 130r in a good way.. Sadly, GTP_timeattack spins on the slippery rumbles to the right (anyone know of them? ) and sways infront of me and BAM! "That's my shot a podium" was my first thought..
My stering wheel was like 120 degrees off angle and I decided to pit immediately. This left me with no option but to go for a super long last stint.. 17 laps.. In an NSX.. :scared:
I ran concistant, and stayed below the 2 minute mark for a good amount of laps.. I also knew that I had to save my tires towards the end of the race. And during this long stint, I passed Wardez, Aderrrm and tony who stopped at around lap 20 (5 laps afte me), so I did not bother that they started catching up to me when they were done with their stops. I pretty much knew I had no chance of keeping them behind me. My only stream of light was that Aderrrm cought up to GTP_timeattack, so I prayed they would fight a lot leaving me some air to breath in and keep on saving my tires.. That did NOT happend..
By lap 26-27ish, I was dead meat. And as soon as Aderrrm and timeattack passed me, Wardez and SuperSic cought up to me as well. So there we were, 3 cars trying to battle thru dunlop.. tony sat behind while me and Wardez fought it out. It was tough, but fair imo.
Wardez made a mistake comming out of Degner 2, and I managed to pass him comming up to the hairpin.
My tires was almost done at this time, so I went a bit wide after braking, so tony took the opportunity to pass me on my inside. But I managed to at least get some grip out of the corner, and got really close to tonys tail in 200r. I was well up his inside breaking in to spoon, and because of my lack of grip, and him turing in a tad soon, we made contact. It was not a huge bump at all. tony managed to stay on the wery outside of the track, and at this point, I knew the battle was over, so I just took it as my fault and let him pass. But as long as I can fight, I will. Just because someone got a better pace does not meen I'll let you pass. I've never expected anyone who I'm racing for position with to just roll out the red carpet for me.. No one ever does it to me, and I won't do it to someone else.. If I was about to get lapped, my actions would ofc have been different.
So after this, I ran by my self, and was happy with 5h spot (Behind Aderrrm, timeattack, tony and Wardez).. But on lap 31, my tires was so worn, I had a spin in spoon, and remy cought up to me.
Comming in to 130r on lap 31, I let him pass me effortless down my inside. But from nowhere, I had WeeFreak up my rear.
So with the draft from Remy, and some skilled (If I may say so) driving on really bad tires, I managed to keep WeeFreak behind me.
Down the back straight on the last lap, I saw Wardez had major issues, going wery slow, so me, Remy and WeeFreak passed him. Remy sailed away in the distance, and it was me and WeeFreak to battle for 5th.. It was a super close battle and finish! I managed to keep him behind me by a couple of 1/100's I guess..

Awesome race!! Even though I had a really good shot at a better position prior me getting damaged, I'm super happy with the race as a whole. I had a blast. Thanks to all of you who raced alongside me giving me this experiance. And I also want to appologize if anyone felt I drove too defensive, or fought back too much. Sorry.

Heat 2.
Biffy, you do uderastad that I braked because someone ahead of me did as well, right?
Imo, the mayham in our lane was caused way more up front than my 8th place. I don't know what it was, but I guess that someone kept an unsteady pace, that triggered our lane to get messed up like it did.

The start was a mess.
But apart from that, racing with all you guys is a blast.
I had a shot at 5th in the sprint race for a lap or two, but made an unforced error in.......... yep.. 130r.. The good thing about this spot is that it's close to the pits.. Right tony, Aderrm, TA? ;)
Had a bad run after my pit, and ended up in 12th..

In the end of the day, I had a blast! 👍
We need to improve some details regarding the pole car.
Usually, the pole driver is an experianced such, but when turning the grid around like we did, a driver that's not used to leading the formation lap will end up there.
Just make sure to keep 100 km/h, and while forming the field prior start, keep an even pace. Other than that.. Super Sunday! 👍

Looking much forward to Spa.

tony.. Honestly.. are you acusing me of divebombing you?
Jeeezz. tony.. Boy...
I understand that you wanted to win and all.. But blame your off ni 130r instead of me fighting you for position..
And as you said.. "I have the right to defend".. Yes, exactly.. And as long as I have that right, there's no reason for you to bring it up the way you did. I can take the responsibility for the (small) contact you and me had in to spoon.. Sorry for that. Honestly.

If I had blocked you over aggressively, I'd understand.. But I'm not a driver who does those sort of things.. Yes, perhaps a small mistake during our small bump from my part.. But that was nothing, honestly man.. Neither of us went off, or recieved damage. We arrived to the corner alongside eachother.. Not a divebombing move as you want to put it forth. If you want a steward to take a look at it, PM one instead of arguing in the thread.

Wardez and I was alongside eachother in the small right kink prior the hairpin.. I think he was a bit naive turning in there.. And it was perhaps sliding out a tad because of my bad tires that I was not sticking like glue to the right, but he also turned in to me by the slightest imo.. Me and Wardez have raced a lot together, and I'm sure he knows what it is to battle with me.
I also recieved a PM from him that we had awesome racing today. So I'm sure he does not share your view on that one. But I'm not going to speak for someone elso ofc.

The discussions in here regarding blocking is not what this was a case of. Feel free to watch the replay, those of you who got it.
Illegal blocking is against all rules in PURE, and I would never try something like that. I never had, and I never will.
Making your car Wide, and giving a faster driver a hard time to pass within regulations is something completely different.

Sorry for the bump tony.

Sorry for the bump tony.

I understand how you feel about it, i feel differently but as i said its all within the rules so no harm no foul.

And as far as ''blaming you for not winning'' is concerned, this is not the reason i brought this matter up,believe me. But at least now i know that if i come up behind you and your tires are way worse than mine,no matter how faster my pace is at the moment, i'll have to fight hard to earn the position.

Looks like your defensive driving is great Denilson. If being faster give the right to have a free lunch then we could go do hotlaps. Racing is like that.

Are you just being the idiot of the village? Do you have the slightest idea about the incident that is being discussed here?

There is a difference between ''being faster'' and ''being much faster because of vastly different tire conditions''. The latter ,is a case of fighting to avoid the inevitable, since there are 4 laps left, while risking contact that can be proven catastrophic. It's a matter of racing etiquette.

I've solved my case with Dennis, if anybody else wants to drop in for a witty remark, please give us a break.

I'll have a look tonight.

I haven't watched it, but I do agree at a certain "faster pace" the proper thing to do is let someone by. There are many conditions on these types of things, it's in the exact details where disagreements are had.

I am not going to weigh in on this one at all about Who's fault it is or isn't. As far as I am concerned you guys are both squeeky clean racers.

I think the drama got built into this by airing it out in the public forum. From past experience, I have found it is much, much better to discuss these things in a private message.

For these matters going forward.. A private message to the person whom you think wronged you, should be first. If that can't be resolved report the incident to a steward. Or just skip step one and report the incident.

I vote for letting the debate over who is right or wrong here go. I think Dennis and Tony can more than handle this one on their own.

Sorry for my interjection, but I think its best for everyone to just move on to the next topic in the forum.

SPA!

You are right as always Red. 👍

We've already sorted this out thru PM since I thought that it got out of hand pretty instantly in the thread.

I'd love to hear your view on the race as a whole btw?

I'm also looking forward to spa.. Should be an interesting one with ballast to the leaders..

And I will give a brief summary of my race -
Bad driving, bad driving, heavy damage, bad driving, bad driving, pit stop, good driving, good driving. 10th place, lol. Managed a 1'56.6 with no draft(which is very good for me), and managed to follow it up with another draft free 1'56. Gotta remember the small positives.

Overall, I think it was probably the worst driving I have done in an online race in quite some time. The car was great, once I realized it was defaulting to the wrong brake settings.

I really enjoy being Brock's teammate, and it is great to see where I need to improve. It is also embarassing sometimes, as his qualification with the same car was 1.4 seconds quicker.:ouch: It probably wasn't our best showing in our NSXs today.. But it just makes team TAKATA hungrier for next week.

I am looking forward to Spa as well! Should be a fun track for the GT500s.

Quick clarification.. Is ballast on or off for qualification?

No, I didn't quote the incident either, I quoted you and what you said. And you described what would go on in a real race. Someone in front holding up the guys behind. Because they are good defensive drivers. Racing isn't always about being fastest.

Ye I'm the idiot... what a remark

Good for you guys.

Ballast is ON during quali as well!

These are the guys who'll represent us.

PURE JGTS | Driver Line Up

TRP_NOSS

Reserve: chorda

We better not need to use the reserve driver..

I feel for their competition already.
Overkill 👍

Haha.. I'd love to race in this actually.. But me and Wardez decided to send the aliens.. I'm most likely in London on that date as well.. So no racing for me I guess.. Gives me time to practice and focus for SPAAAAAAA.. 👍

But wait.. Are'nt the InternGT500 race held at Spa?? Ah, well... What's a night at the castle anyway??

Have no clue how to do that. I read a little bit seems to be more then I really want to get into.

However if CSL has troubles I will try.

It's actually very easy, all you need is a usb thumbdrive and this site - Megaupload.

After that it's just upload time, this race will probably take me about an hour to upload, maybe less.

Thanks for the highlights, Wardez. It looked like an action packed race! I can't wait to get in on these starting in January!!!

Re: Spa practise. Does anyone have Spa set as their lounge track that I can use for practise? Essentially, I have technical difficulties preventing me from just buying the track, until their December update at least.

Can I help you somehow?
If you join my lobby now, are you able to race spa without me beeing there?

If so, head to my lounge, cause I believe I have Spa as my lounge track.. 👍

let me know if it works.

It does indeed work. Cheers Den!

Currently uploading an NTSC US replay of D2 Race 2, give it an half an hour or so and it should be good to go. :)
