It should have payed off for me as well. :indiff:

Like I mentioned before, car is junk behind someone. Besides, I'm guessing that all the pack racing's going to slow people down. How's your time on the hards? I've only done one quick test and anything below a 33 is dicey. So much trouble exiting the last chicane with them. :ouch:

33 on hards? :dunce: What do you have? F1 tires?

Hey guys, don't have much time this weekend so I couldn't qualify proper. I'd like to request to be put in the back of the grid for tomorrow's race. Although I'm not completely 100% sure I can make it tomorrow so don't wait up. Our show's doing a promotional event and I'm kind of on call in-case they need help and the thing's going on around noon. There's like a 40% chance they'll call so I should be good.

thxnadvnss

I'll probably be consistent 43's on Mediums.
Sure, you say that now, and tomorrow, you'll be running 41s.

Just did a stint on the meds. Went about 11 laps with times down to the 43.5 range. Thinking of adjusting the LSD. A tad too much wheelspin.

Added you to the sheet as a provisional. 👍

Are there others that need to qualify? I am still hanging out with my wife, but I should be able to get on in about an hour. I haven't run any laps yet.

Sorry to ask again, but when is the race time again? I have a vball game at 11am PST and won't be back until around 2pm PST. I hope the OP post that says room opens at 3pm means PST.

Nope. Room opens at noon, race starts at one.

It's 3 EST; race starts at 4 EST. :nervous:

Many thanks to Rich for taking care of the sheet for me. I'm going to make a race info post, then I might even qualify myself, even though I said I wasn't racing, since I realized I have nothing else going on tomorrow. Depends on how I feel about the car, I guess.

Thanks for the reply Outlaw. Wow, I feel flaky. Sorry guys.

Looks like I will be missing this race. Sorry to come here before last weeks race and say I would be here for the final three races... and then be part of bringing drama to the series, and then not making this race.

I do hope to make the final race of the series, but I understand if you guys would rather finish out your championship points without me.

I hope you guys have a good race tomorrow.👍

Edit - Just saw your post Mule.. my bust.

I've been all over the place the last two days, with GT4, FMSC, and this series. I honestly lost count how many flying laps I've seen.

I'm rolling the dice and using hards for the first stint. May even drop to the rear just so I don't try to pull over right into dirt.

One last thing that's worth mentioning. Hit pit road at around 70mph while entering right. Otherwise, you'll get chucked out. Also, whoever gets the first stall better have fast fingers. There's barely enough time to switch tires. 👎

RACE INFORMATION

Track: Road Course - Daytona
Distance: 28 laps + formation lap = 100.52 miles

Please note: Due to the banking in the Tri-oval where the start/finish line is, we will be doing a Rolling Start for one week only. I think all of you have done a rolling start before. If I decide to not race, I will act as a safety car for the start. I will be keeping a pace of 60 MPH / 100 KM/H.

-Pole sitter will start on the inside for turn 1 (the left hand side of the track). The pole sitter may start at any time from when I pull off, to the start/finish line.
-NO WEAVING on the formation lap please.
-Do not go full-throttle until the car ahead of you does. If you jump the start, you will be given a 10 second penalty. You may not pass anybody until you cross the start/finish line.

Please refer to this link for track boundaries.

You may not pit until the end of lap 3. You may not pit on laps 28 or 29.

It wouldn't be competitive racing without some drama ;)

Everybody misses races, I wouldn't exactly call it "drama". :)

Well I been driving for 45 minutes already, so there, take that. :P
What will my random followers do without me?

Sorry guys, can't make it. Have fun, good luck - looking forward to the results.

Did everyone change their tires after the practice? The only ones starting on mediums now are Litchi and Grayfox :s

LoL I seen 90% of the field on them. Thought well either risk drafting two or stick around the Hard guys and have a draft to maintain speed. Worked out well till first stop and i got the pit restart. Even slowed down knowin better then enter to fast. Guess 9x MPH didn't work. Came in next time at 80mph. LoL had good pace today. Was able to close gaps on cars ahead of me as well the leader in my second stint. Third stint maintained the gap. Had a blast. I truly like this track.

Oh best part of the race for me was door to door into turn 1 with CSL. Incredible stuff. Those moments slip the line of reality for me. It's purely instinct at that point. I need to drive more that way. It's faster just dangerous feeling. Don't want to be dirty.

What's to say? I seemed to easily have the fastest pace, but couldn't stop screwing up after the first stint. Even the end of the first stint.
I could have/should have had the lead entering the pits, having ran the field down slowly but surely in the first 10 laps, started screwing up and decided to pit first and gain track advantage, and did so successfully. Came out about 5 seconds behind Turbo, safely past Nepalii's draft, screwed up some more, gave him the draft, screwed up some more, lost his draft, pit early for track advantage again, got a short penalty in the pits, came out and caught Turbo, with Nepalli in front.
Drove poorly, probably held Turbo up, had a run-in with cicua, and eventually when looking at a solid run to take second place despite all this, I binned it in the bus stop on the final lap. Nothing to do but laugh and move on I guess. :dopey:

Well my race went better than I had planned, but doesn't matter because 2nd place is just the first loser. Especially when you're fighting someone for the points lead and they are the one who beat you.

Went 9 or 10 laps I believe on Hards, then switched to Mediums and started clicking off laps. Unfortunately I think I pushed too hard after that first stop because, even though I ended up in 1st after everyone else stopped, I lost my 5 second lead really quickly to NEPALII after he passed CSL and all I could do was hang on until we pit again. Then on pit road I came out as OwensRacing was coming in, so my car had to slow down and that cost me time. Once out of the pits I had trouble trying to keep up and CSL/cicua tracked me down. :(

Sigh of relief when I saw CSL spinning on the last lap, sorry dude. :dopey:

I think NEP (official alien, no matter what he says) has this one all wrapped up. :)

Incredible race to watch. Tire stategy made it completely unpredictable until the end.

Also, for those who want it (Wardez?) I'm uploading the replay right now.

I'm really happy with this!

After my unfortunate story about yesterday's qualifying, I was gutted because I felt quick, yet I would start at the back and lose any chance to get a good result... or so I thought! (By good result, I was hoping for a 5th at best)

My race went through these phases:

- My goal is to finish 8th
- Maybe I could get a 7th...
- My group is 4th to 6th; at least I would get 6th
- It's just Simon (GTP_Cicua) and me, so a 5th is great...
- I think I know how to make it to 4th!
- Oh no, Dom!! But holy ****, 3rd!

These stages are more for a laugh, but you get the idea. I felt quick but I knew I wouldn't have anybody's draft. Yet I did get some drafts here and there, that helped me make it.

I also have to add that, once again, a good (great!) result comes when I'm able to make a full race without a single mistake. I would like to think that this, along with my WSGTC results mean I'm growing up as a driver, if only a bit. Slowly, I'm learning how to be fast AND consistent, I guess it ends up paying off.

This series had not been successful at all for me, partly because I didn't have time to practice, so I always practiced on saturdays alone. I was a bit disappointed, since I loved this car, but was surprised not to have any decent result. My best result so far was 7th... in the season opener, then 8ths, 9ths and the such. So a 3rd place here does make the whole series worth it. And it boosts my motivation as we head to the last race of the season at Suzuka...

Great fun race and great battles with everyone! 👍

You guys are close to tied, how is that having it wrapped up?

exactly my thought. I'm probably going to screw it up at Suzuka and hand over the title to RT.

As for the race, I was able to keep the car on track and manage my pace. Had a few scary moments when RT overtook me after I pitted. I seriously thought he had the race wrapped up. He, on worse tires, was slower and I manage to pass him but he holds onto my draft! :scared: I go to the pits and so does he. I thought: Im doomed, he's going to pass me. Luckily, he got held on the pits and CSL and Cicua pass him. Im guessing he was held by them and that gave me the victory.

By the way, Im extremely disappointed with CSL for giving 2nd to RT!:( lol Great racing everyone!
