We're waiting for Watson and Green over here. Or anyone else who might show up to race.

EDIT: I know, RT. Just a general statement. If someone's abusing it, tell me/Wardez and I'll look at it and go from there.

Ok, just waiting for Paul now, still having trouble man?

I don't believe it, last lap looking good for 4th spot and I get dc'd. I'm really thinking hard about quitting gt5 and joining iracing!!

Paginas wins D2. Pretty much all of us had a chance to win at some point. I think I led the most laps, but was on hards on the final stint, and couldn't keep up and fell down to 5th. Great race.

Edit: make sure someone saved the D1 NTSC replay!

That was a blast. Like these cars!!

So fun I'm gonna find a way to commit to the Sunday racing. Qualifying too.

That decision is easy for those that can afford it.

I'm just so angry, I really put all my effort into this race as I know how fast you lot are. I managed 35 laps without really making a mistake and even broke into 31's which for me is quite an achievement!

On the plus side it was a very clean race didn't come into contact with anyone!

I did 4 stops! D:

Winners and top guys did only two stops.

Yeah, that stuff happens sometimes. Really sucks. I think it's happened to all of us at least once. Really hope you'll stick with us, though.

I also did a two stopper but didn't work out too well. Finished on hards and couldn't keep up with those on Med on last few laps. I think i stretched my tires out too much.

Wow, I think I should trade my copy of GT5 in for Need for Speed Pro Street
RT, CSL Great race. Makes me miss FMSC, everyone is skilled in clean racing. I don't have to worry about getting nailed in turn 1, or someone braking 50M early.
I wish I could say I didn't have contact, I forgot NEPAL was on old tires and gave him a good bump.
Next week, if by some miracle I Q for D1, can I drop down to D2?
3 out of the 6 tracks I'm sure last place is a given for me.

I know your pain. I was running 2nd in a race and everyone disappeared on me. Then again, that was a third of the way in but still, it's a bad situation to be in. Give it some time and you'll get over it.

As for my race, well, I sneaked by the T1 incident but I had no one to draft with the whole race and I almost fell asleep at the end.

If I could have hooked up with someone, I could have had 3rd today. No dice. :indiff:

Great racing guys. I was horrible on my 2nd stint with Racing Hard. The buggy chase cam wasn't helping either :grumpy: Well done to RT proving consistency is the key once again! Love 1st stint, me cicua and RT glued!! No harmful contact at all, that's how racing should be!! 👍

For my first stint on Mediums I just hung back and let Nepalii and cicua duke it out. My plan was to stay out for 10 laps on those tires, but I wasn't losing any ground so decided to stay out for a bit longer. They started to struggle around lap 12 on those tires, so I was able to get around them and they came in. I stayed out for another lap, then pitted.

After that stop I came back out on the track behind Wardez who was leading. Cicua was behind me battling with Nepalii. He eventually got away and passed me going down the front stretch. I tried my best to hang on with Hard tires and did eventually get back by. I think the stint on these tires was around 10-12 laps. Driving this car on these tires for more than 5-6 laps is brutal.

During my second stop I switched back to Mediums and came out in 5th. Within the next few laps everyone in front had pitted and I inherited the lead. Luckily I was far enough ahead of Cicua that I could maintain a large lead going into the last few laps. When I saw him duck on to pit road with a few laps to go, I went into super conservative mode to save what was left of the tires. When I noticed the 2nd place car was gaining quickly, I picked it up a tad.

That was really hard to do with tires that were 3/4 of the way gone. They were toast. :p

Edit: Forgot to mention I didn't have any tire noises the whole race. Not such a bad thing with this type of car, but with something like the 86's it's too hard to race without it.

I felt the RH's were useless, but I was not sure how long the RM's would last in real race. So the plan was to run 3 stints on RM, hopefully 9-11 laps each, and when the third set of RM's started producing 34's I would do a final short stint on RH.

Second stint I wondered why Nepalii seemed to have lost it, took me way to long to realize he was on hards :dunce:. Then I drove up to RT who was also on hards, but I was unable to shake him off, I just pulled him in my draft for I dont know how many laps.

So that turned out to be a losing strategy. And when we both pitted at lap 22, my crew took a nap and I lost him there, and did not get a bunch of laps' draft back :grumpy:

But in any case I would have lost by the 30 secs of the third pit stop, strategy lessons learned 👍

Good race all in all, clean and hard 👍

Yeah, honestly, if you see that Orange 33 behind you, it's best to let him by and not let him eat up your draft. Only helps him save his tires further lol.

So I decided I'd start on hards, and tailgate, which unfortunately, failed. It probably would have given me the win easily. :(

I really didn't have much for battles, because of the strategy game, at the start I was defending, trying to keep from being driven away from, but after the first 2-3 laps, I was faster then anyone I was around for tire reasons, I believe.

Only a few stayed with for a lap or two that I can remember, but good clean stuff everywhere I could see.
I ran the first 12 on hards, second 12 on mediums, and third 12 on mediums too. It all boiled down to the end, where I was only 4.9 off Turbo with 2 to go, but then I tried to push just a little bit, and I didn't have enough tire to take it, lost 2-3 seconds.
Wouldn't have caught him either way, job well done Turbo.👍

Best lap was only 31.4 something, couldn't really push on 2 stopper much.:scared:

I learned that the hard way in the Miata series.

(and somehow pulled it on him the race after) :sly:

I'm still lost on how so many could break 31s, though. Maybe Fuji wasn't my type of track.

If I'm directly behind someone I try to avoid the draft anyway. It almost got me in trouble late in the race, thankfully cicua turned in to turn 1 at the right time because I went sliding right by him.

I don't think the draft helps too much in the corners anyway.

I agree, I think it's easier to follow someone avoiding the draft, the extra speed the draft gives just throws your braking points into guesswork.
Obviously this doesn't usually apply on straights. ;)

SSR5, should be exciting.

Just turned in a few quick laps. 1:18.3 with the meds although I'm sure everyone will find a way to break 16s while I'm stuck in the 17 zone.

I always step out of the draft right before the brake zones. If you stay behind them too long you'll overshoot the braking point. I love SSR5, just have to get some practice in there. So I'll be on a lot this week, if you find me online- lets have at it.

That's what I usually try to do. I'm pretty good at letting off early enough to keep from hitting someone, but there's always that one-time where I'll forget and practically lock them up trying to avoid hitting someone. This happened last night following cicua. Thankfully he made his entry into turn 1 just before I got to him, avoiding a catastrophe. :p
