Python explodes trying to eat an Alligator

I'm trying to envision what the battle (such as it was) between the snake and the gator was like. The gator must have been asleep when the python found it. Even then, what a scene that must have been...

Man, a vid would have been unbe-freakin-lievable!
Yeah!

I feel sorry for both of the animals dieing but it would be so funny to see a video.

A bit dumb that the python ate something too big that it couldn't handle it...

In one of the UK's safari parks (can't remember which one) the Lions have been attacking Smart Cars!

Really?👍

Might be longleat ...

Anyway, what the heck was that python thinking?

The Alligator cussed it's mum so it started beef. The python won and ate the 'gator but then the 'gator when into super saiyan mode and blew up the python. Then the alligator died. The end.

Am I the only one that feels sorry for the alligator and no remorse for the python?

Alligators pretty much leave you alone, unless you provoke or scare them.

Hey, I'm with you. The python was trying to, you know, eat the alligator.

"I'm hungry. I need to eat.

"There's something alive in front of me.

"I must catch it and eat it."

Other than stuff like the above, pythons don't really do much "thinking"...

The Dead Gator Sketch... maybe it is just pining for the Everglades? 💡

Wonder if anyones been dumb enough to take a cross blade in

Wow, that thing ate too much.

Now i'm no scientist but surely it would've taken the python quite a while to get that much alligator into his mouth. Was the alligator asleep/stoned/hungover or something?
Am I the only one who has seen Disney's "The Jungle Book?" Pythons have crazy hypnotic eyes.

This is how it broke down. The snake gave the gator the crazy eyes and then said, "You are getting very sleepy." Then the gator fell asleep. The snake swallowed the gator whole while it was sleeping and then started on its way.

Once the stomach muscles started trying to crush the gator it woke up and said, "What the hell is going on?" Then it gave a big kick and the already stretched and stressed membranes of the snake's body went POP! Unfortunately the gator, out of instinct, also tried to bite and swallowed a mouthful of stomach acids which it choked to death on.

The snake in severe pain and dying slowly swallowed its own head in order to end its pain.

The End.

Gee whiz, people, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this stuff out.

Oooooooh.

snake probably bit the alligator's underside and suffocated it to death with the rest of its body. duh.

I don't think a gater death-roll is enough to break a snake off when it's totally coiled around the thing.

A predator's a predator. Well, now more of reason to avoid the Everglades in the first place (to all south Floridians).

But this interspecies battling thing is cool. I read something about how sperm whales and giant squids frequently duel it out just like the movies.

But that doesn't explain the break-out. The python did not "explode" on its own. I don't think that happens. If it got the gator through its mouth, its digestive system can handle it.

It really looks like the gator came to inside the snake and started thrashing.

Ouch! :ouch: But then how did the ’gator die? Suffocation?

Probably - it does have 75% of its body inside another animal...

I've never been in the belly of snake, but I'd imagine it's hard to get oxygen...

I think in the article it said the alligator may have "scratched" its way out.

I thought pythons crushes its' preys to death, before swallowing them.........

Perhaps it didn't thoroughly crush the gator?

But the gator probably died afterwards from the loss of blood or while suffocating from being inside the other half of the snake. The article says he scratched his way out. I thought I didn't need to repeat a given. ;)

Well, they're studying it to see how they can prevent snake on gater attacks.

I assume they'll let them decompose somewhere in the glades.
