Q about memory sticks

Do I need to buy a certain one that works with a PS2 or do all of them work.

And what about resolutions.

I've seen some that are 1280x1024. Which is the default resolution and how do I change resolution modes?

This question has been asked before and there is a huge thread somewhere to fin out more. Just to sum up quickly though, the very vast majority of the usb drives work with it, i think they question would be more of a case fo which ones do NOT work as the list will be much shorter.

I have tried many, many usb drives and mp3 players and they all worked fine, with both the std ps2 or the slim one.

As for resolution you can resize them on paint, paintshop, photoshop, gimp or anything like that, the standard resolution is 1280 x 960 you cant change that on the ps2, you have to do that on your pc.
