I don't have a shark port ..

But i was wondering can you use the software without the hardware to view sps & or xps files..?

Also I hear that Xport users cant share replay files with S/port users ..But i was pondering ..Say you have a X-port and want to view sps replays could'nt you use s/port software with your X-port to acheive this..?as im sure the hardware is the same but just got a different name..

Has anyone tried this or has this been covered allready?

If this can be done im sure there is somewhere on the web that has downloads for each version..

This is just a theory..

Cheers

Yes has been covered often here, the X-Port is great for importing game saves then edit using MK's program. An then load the game save back to your game an see the results of your labors

Is well worth the $29.95 cost

Hey Pedro,

Unfortunately, you need both the hardware and the software to view/save do anything really with the Shark/Xport.
Also, the .xps and .sps files can't be interchanged. You can save and download each to your memory card but you can't view them.
The .sps is the North American version (NTSC) and the Xport is for the rest of the world. (PAL). Due to the different frame rates of televisions between the two, it makes exchanging and viewing the different files impossible.

It's a pain in the arse. I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to view a replay from Mr. Holland or Mr. P and can't.

The X-Port software for the PC, is a free download from the net... The X-Port/SharkPort cables cost a mere $29.95, well worth it when used with the MK Editor

Cheers guys :0 it was a good theory while it lasted :)

I just thought that since you need to install the software to your PC i would work on the PC as well as PS2

Cheers for clearing that up 👍

Well, I think that is a save game converter.

So basically if I downloaded an American NTSC save for a game (say err, a Gran Turismo game save) I would be able to convert it into a European PAL save that I would be able to load on my version of the game.

Hmmm, this site looks interesting....

i have the cable for sharkport , but i lost the 2 cd's . i downloaded the pc software , but i don't hav the ps2 software . if anyone has it available , could you giv me a message ! i don't wanna pay the $30's again .... thanx !

I cant seem to find anyone in any shops here that knows what an Xport is or how to get one. Living in Australia and owning a PAL PS2, would I be able to buy a Sharkport from the US and use it?
