I thought it looked like a Chrysler when I first saw it, but now I'm not really sure.
That was my initial impression.

Anyways:

Blame that Nissan for starting it unless there's a older one that I'm not aware of.

Convertible SUVs are completely stupid but, with the top down they can look great in my opinion.

Is it questionable to turn your 350Z into a California replica?

And yes, the guy used a lot of original Ferrari parts. Must have been expensive...

Hats off for this guy, seriously . I love this! Turbocharge it and you end up with somethig great

Of all the Ferrari's to choose to replicate, they chose a California???

The 350z is a better looking car to start with.

NO.

I like the idea. Loads of torque like an old V8, but quiet so you can cruise around silently. A bit of a sleeper, very much a cruiser.

The sound of all the "purists" crying makes me love it even more. It needed restoration anyway, so why not do something unique with it?

I'm not against doing something unique, but making it an electric car to me is just plain stupid. Electric motors can't do 🤬 compared to gasoline engines.

It's not like the Mustang is a rolling brick or anything. It just doesn't make sense to use that car as an electric car compared to everything else.

At least put an engine in it and not a bunch of batteries.

If I wanted a battery operated car I'd go buy a Powerwheels.

The era of mass-market liquid fuel is drawing to a close. I can easily imagine an imminent future where fuel engines are nothing but generators to top up the batteries, à la Fisker Karma:

There are plenty of old Mustangs out there from what I can tell. Yet some people express discontent when somebody decides to give one an all-leccy powertrain as part of a restoration/engineering concept?

You know there's no ethical code one must abide by if they feel like giving the innards of their project Mustang an unique twist, right?

They didn't build the car to conform to the antiquated preferences of a luddite crowd. Good on them for trying something new, I say. For every electric Mustang, there's still a sea of V8 models that all look and feel the same. This is a fresh take on the pony car, and I appreciate it for that. If anything, you should be happy they put another Mustang on the road again.
