Why do those who put more flare into flares on Mustangs overdo it? So much potential. Also maybe I'm blind but @mustang fanatic what is on the roof?

The greyish part on the roof. It looks like a vinyl top or something.

There's a lot more that's wrong with it than that.

Whatever it is, I don't want to know. :scared:

But it does look like there's something going on with the front bumper.

With regards to the flared Mustang, the most questionable thing about it has to be the lift. Take away the flared arches, and the car would still look stupid with that amount of lift, but if the car were lowered a bit, with the top edges of he tyres tucked under the flares, it wouldn't look half bad in my opinion.. oh, and get rid of the silver/chrome arch piping.

What lift? That's stock height.

Well I wouldn't kick her out of bed on a cold morning!

The car could do with less 'engine'. Perhaps have the intake only as high as the 2nd Pulley.
You don't need a supercharger that big to get that sort of power, just look at this thing (it's probably a very old repost)

I fail to see how a road legal drag racer is questionable

Of course it's questionable. High amounts of money, low mpg, impractical on the road etc. Doesn't mean it isn't awesome!
Tbh I prefer Red Victor 1 because of the story behind it and how it has more of the original car left!

Bored, so I decided to look at the New Zealand car auctions, since the Starlet scene is pretty big down there, and I found this:

What sucks is that its otherwise stock, which is a rarity these days. Besides the fugly chromies for da homies yo, the only replaced parts are a turbo timer (don't see the need for these on a stock vehicle) and an aftermarket blow off valve. Given the... eye-catching choice in wheels, I wouldn't be surprised if the blow off valve was an early HKS model, which are notorious for being obnoxious and irritating as possible. Yet to the owners of them, it turns heads and gives them cred because lolturbomakeschirpsounds.

Really? I knew it had rake, but that looks really high. Must be accentuated by the flares.
Yeha the flares and the oversize tires make it stick out.

The whole car is only about 4 feet tall.

isnt that an OLD IMAX style camera???
if it is I guess it serves a purpose...
as for the mustang a couple pages back... I swear I've seen that car in one of the old Showcar mags I've got lyin around... if it IS that car the mysterious line across the roof is where it was modified with a Targa top...

I can't tell what that is

Modified VW T2 "Radarwagens" with Gatso-style devices used by Dutch and Belgian police in the 70s. The main camera was front-mounted where potential speeders couldn't see them until it was too late. Provided they missed the smaller rear device.

Aside from the typical enmity towards mobile radar vans, the execution is pretty cool.
