I actually give it about an 8/10, on the better side.

If I was driving behind it (and only directly behind it) I would probably think 'Yeah, that's pretty nice'. And then I'd overtake it and cry (shut up a Yaris can overtake a Corvette any day)

It would be a little heartbreaking and maybe even enraging for the purists.

I am, mostly a purist, but that doesn't mean i hate ALL modified cars, infact, even "frankencars" could work! Take for example, the Sileighty, which was originally just a modification.
However, if you are, for some reason, gonna create a "frankencar" you gotta have the thing you are going to modify the same year as the modification, and preferably the same country, the same make, and the same color, along with very few noticeability that you welded the back end of one car to the front end of another.
...And preferably only have 1 front and 1 back. You gotta make it look natural.
However, people are gonna question why you did this:

Or how about this?

Can't decide which type of car you want? Just get all of them into one!

And this....... will speak for itself.

I understand 2 or even partially 3 cars in one but that last one went TOO FAR!

Erm...what purists? It's a C5 convertible. I actually liked it when I first saw it some time back. It's clearly not an original model but it honors the original while maintaining much of the C5's overall shape.

I've overheard some Corvette guys at car shows I've been at over the years say things like "Yuck! Shoulda kept it stock" when talking about custom rims on a Corvette. Those kind of people are what I'm talking about. And the rims are usually not all that bad at all.

Yeah, the guy that isn't a whole lot older than me who just plunked 30 grand down on a "two years new" (guess what, it's still used) sports car and thinks he's hot 🤬 despite the fact that it's a minimally-optioned shell of what the car can be with a little more money spent at time of purchase. I don't consider them purists, just big-headed and pig-headed.
I think a true Corvette purist would see that it's just a C5 convertible and might appreciate the effort that went into not only coming up with a unique design that pays homage to a classic but also do so in such a way that it can be replicated by like-minded individuals who bought the rebody kit.

I guess the definition is open for debate, but I look at it as someone that wouldn't want anything of significance modified in such a way that it strays from the original.

The car's a rebody, and on the site they even state that the C5 coupe could not be converted in the same manner due to the way the car is constructed. I've seen 30s Fords that had been heavily modified (roof chopped or even removed entirely) be restored to their original state, a rebody can be seen as 'Custom Lite' in that it can be reverted with much less difficulty.

Then I'm one, with certain cars.

Eugh. The Skyline is at least saveable with a new set of rims and a ton of paint, but all of these are just horrifying.
