What the hell kind of car did that start as? It's got the lines of a 240Z but god I really hope that isn't.

And that Superbird

no No NO!

Superbirds are marvelous classics, not to be used as freakin' drift cars!

What's next, a Model T lowrider?

It's dropped to the ground, it looks good. I would drive one. I don't care what it was built for.

hey as long as they didn't ruin a great classic. i haven't got a problem with it. It's their money. and that marcos is kinda neat looking(if not weird).

I disagree. I think the 'Superbird' looks cool.

I strongly suspect it's a replica though, which is fine by me - if it was an original then I (like everyone else) would be gutted.

As far as I know, it the only one there is and it looks OK, so that's cool. However, if it becomes a trend and every loser with a 'tuning' shop 'builds' classic drifter they'll all suck. The 'Superbird' will still be OK, it started the whole thing.

It would be nicer if it used a turbo import engine though, that's what drifting is about after all...

Uhh, no. That would entirely ruin it.

Since when is drifting all about how much power your car has, or where it was built, or where that power comes from?

It's about going sideways, and that's all.

Yeah...so far, the reasons people have been coming up with for disapproving of that Superbird have been far more questionable than the Superbird itself.

I can continue, but I won't because I'm ruining the thread by posting cars that aren't questionable. At all.

But I'm sure you get my point.

lol getting anything v8 sideways isnt exactly a tricky thing..dont need to blow money on tuning the engine just to get power to a decent level either ;)

My claim is that the Superbird is a very nice classic car which has been prostituted by becoming a drift car

Drifting is absolutley not about how much power your car has. It is about how where your engine and car come from though.

Um, going sideways? For that matter, a lot of drifters use big hairy chested V8 American cars.
Personally, I don't like non-Japanese engines/cars drifting, and I can't stand American drifting. Japanese engines in Japanese cars is what drifting is about. Drifting is also about holding bumpers on with cable ties, fat wheels that don't fit under your car, tyres that are too skinny for their wheels stretched on so they have virtually no sidewall, and having fun.

It's a Japanese sport. I prefer it when it's not Americanised.
