Well, It's an ice racer. It needs all the downforce up there. needs the traction.

and it should slide real good.
 
You guys don't seem to get it. It's an Ice Racer. It runs on forzen lakebeds, and the owner installed the sprint car wing so the thing would turn on ice.

I see nothing questionable about it, unless we're considering the wide-schnozz Williams-BMW or Brabham "Lobster Claw" questionable.

Look, it may be ugly, but it serves a purpose, and therefore, in my book, isn't questionable.

Oh, sure, try turning with the throttle wide open on a frozen lakebed in any production FF, doing a fairly good clip (40-50MPH) and see what happens.

Are you even from the snowbelt? I can remember times when my 70 HP '88 Nova slid the nose during a snowy day.

anyway, big wing over front drivewheels = better handling on extra-slippery ice. I rest my case.

Oh, I think i've seen enough of those "Convoy slipstream makers" to last my life. (The wild looking vans that I'm sure Truckers would appreciate riding behind.)

Yes, in your book. So i'm going to put a 12 foot spolier made of wood on a geo and say "uh.. duh... it's fo tha downforce *drool*, so its ok"

Look at it this way, I would pay to drive a F1 car, whereas I would probably shoot myself if i was ever seen driving that crx, or any honda for that matter.
 
You miss the point. That's a real, working wing there, not a freaking piece of plywood. Look at the CRX-s interior, too, Gutted and caged. Yes, it's backwoods engineering, but It's the kind of innovative thinking legends are made of. Remember Smokey Yunick? Remember his 7/8th scale Chevelle?

Leave your hate for Honda out of this and just appreciate the fact that the owner was clever enough to come up with an idea that many of his buddies out on the frozen lakes hadn't thought of, yet. that car, by the way, isnt' street-driven, it's built specifically to race on frozen lakebeds in wintertime.

Yeah, It's ugly, yeah, it looks dumb, but how would you feel if that guy beat you?

Your missing my point, I don't care how functional the wing is, it is still questionable. There have been plenty of cars in this thread that look great or work great, but are still questionable

I don't think that car is questionable, I would take function over looks anyday when it comes to making a car handle better or faster.👍

Everybody has different opinions of what questionable is.

stumpydino thought that this car was questionable, but in my opinion it is not. Does that mean that i have the right to say that it is completely not questionable, no, its just a difference of opinions

When you put it that way, then I'm pretty sure there are people who think any modification is questionable...but these people usually don't much like cars in the first place. Fast, noisy cars, anyway. Still, I suppose I'll have to +rep for making a good point.
