well the ute term refers to a one piece body, as opposed to having a separate bed like a proper truck, doesnt just cover aus ones :p

I remember reading an article about that, it was some homage to British Engineering. Obviously representing the average British car by being covered in overgrowing plants while they sit and rust in the back of a junkyard.

aren't non ute trucks with pick up beds fairly rare in Australia, it seems like most of them have stake bodys or flat beds

it does look good and except for the back end, looks to be a decent impersonation, I will never get why people spend money (maybe even enough to justify buying the original) to make a great car into another great car that it is not...

Yeah, I can't quite figure out the point either. A cheap first generation MX5 would cost about NZ$5,000 - $7000. A cheap 97 Z3 1.9 costs about NZ$13,000.

The MX5 - Z3 conversion kit costs NZ$4,400. So $5000 + $4,400 = $9,400 leaves you $3,600 for fitting and painting. Which I suspect unless you are doing it your self would be cutting it pretty fine. Even then you still end up looking like Mr Cheapo when for only a few dollars more you could have had the real thing.

Nah, not rare, there are plenty but why waste money on something so big when something half the size can do the job? :p
 
HA! Atleast I can see the humor in that paint job. Whats with NASCAR fans in the states anyways? I don't see how they can be so hardcore about cars that go in circles all day.

And I don't see why fans were so crazy over Formula 1 from 1996-2006 when Michael Schumacher took the win in almost every race and championship. :rolleyes:

Fans like their sports. Don't think they're dumb because they like something that seems boring to you.

What I find confusing is the fact that he has marks from two manufacturers on his car, and Neither of them are really what the car is...A Honda.

the paint's well-applied, though, but most NASCAR guys stick with one make in their fandom, and usually with one team, (Multi-car that it be.) But I dont' see a whole lot of correlation between Dale Jr and Dale Jarrett...

Oh, wait...same first name...and it's all number "8"...

Sometimes, the most obvious answers are hiding in plain sight.

It's still a weird way to choose which teams you are going to plaster all over your Honda... which just makes the owner look like more of an ass
 
Maybe he can't afford anything different or maybe he likes a car that doesn't break down just by looking at it.
