Yeah... What i'm saying is the Cougar has been a Mercury product all of it's life in the US AFAIK hence me thinking you were incorrect... but I don't live in the UK so I wouldn't know.

Never really understood why no-one liked it, it looked good and drove OK.

I like it. He took an ADD Nova and put an engine in it. Its far less questionable than it was originally.

I agree, if anything it made it better than what it was. You may not like the look, it's appears to be more of an acquired taste, one of those love it or hate it designs.
 
Cost more than the Mondeo, sat on the same platform as a Mondeo, drove the same as the Mondeo, was less practical than the Mondeo, had less power than the Mondeo, and ended up being sold alongside the newer (and better) Mondeo III.
In America, it had all the same problems, except instead of being sold alongside the Mondeo III (which we never got) it had the unfortunate task of trying to combine MN12 Mercury Cougar owners with Ford Probe owners for its target demographic by using the questionable sales strategy of alienating both of them.

It essentially failed for the same reason that all mid-sized FWD luxury coupes fail.
 
...and to think my dad was gonna buy one and cart me around in it.

But now he's looking at a bug-eye Impreza WRX STi, so all is well.

No problem.

I must question the rationale of deciding that an MR2 would be best kept if the engine was put in the front. Especially when he didn't bother to reconnect the rear wheels with the engine. FF2 sounds like a disease of some sort.
 
FR? That didnt' look like an engine. rather, some serious pumps and such.

from what I can see, the vehicle has no driven wheels whatsoever. I think it's a Jet.

I saw this Civic at school today. Notice the GT wing on the trunk and the bondoed up rear quarter panel. Typical ghetto rice.:lol:

There is much more rice at school that I hope to take pictures of and blind you guys with.:sly:
 
Considering the state you're in, it don't surprise me. but, yeah, this is a case of not enough money spent any place to make a difference.

Officially a questionably modified car.
