"That car there with the skulls is fine, but you there, with your loud exhaust, and your car low like that, that's distracting and dangerous, you should have your car impounded and your license taken away!"

The 2.3L used in the Ranger is a variant of the Mazda MZR engine...which is used in the Mazda 3. I agree though it's still strange though. Either someone really did their homework on the engine, or they just typed in 2.3L badge into eBay and bought the cheapest one.

It'd be funnier though if the Ranger ended up being a V6 .

are you sure it wasn't the mazda version or maybe since ford still owns part of mazda they just use the same badge for everything they can...

2JZ DeLorean Questionable or not?

"Back to the future we go! The DeLorean DMC-12 was no better than a hunk of stainless steel from the factory. It came with a 2.8 liter V6 that produced a measly 130 hp (170 hp for the Euro version) which was good enough to propel the car from 0 to 60 mph in about 10 seconds which is about the same as a Toyota Prius.

This particular example is no turtle though. Eddie from Florida has swapped a 2JZ-GTE into his DeLorean. To make matters more impressive, he did most of the work himself from his garage. There is no exact horsepower figures, but the owner is aiming for around 400 whp. That is plenty enough for the car that now weights roughly 3,000 lbs after the swap."

What is the obsession with skulls? and Baby heads? I mean, it's a little disconcerting.

Well, see, the black Cadavalier is an "art car" as witnessed by the Jack Skellington faces across the front bumper and the general composition. That is an entirely different beast than the Fourez Maxima or this wonder:

There is much less irony involved in the latter two - if there is any at all to be found.

[EDIT] That Delorean is not questionable at all. It's far better than the crappy Renault mill that came in it originally, and it looks pretty stock from the outside.

"Art car" meaning Art as in Van Gogh or as in Graffiti?

The owners even tried to mimick the BTTF3 DeLorean by fitting some oversized railroad style wheels 👍

RE: De Lorean: Well, yes and no...I can think of engines that might lend themselves better packaging-wise (and most of them are Flat or Rice-ball configuration)

I posted this in the Custom Car thread, but I figured it would go good here too.

1969 Camaro...wagon...thing

It's very clean and very retro 70's...and sort of cool looking...but it is an odd use of a Camaro.

I saw this in Ann Arbor. Yes its a drivers ed car, because kids want to learn how to drive in Neons with body kits and clear taillights.
