F YOU
Well, I am at about 90% completion of season 4 (just have Gymkhana events) and 50% completion of the World Tour events; currently at rep level 28. I made this thread so those of you who are curious about the game or have just started and are looking for more information have somewhere to easily get it.

I run a Playseat/DFGT (I want a GT2 :() and race with ABS only.

If you have any questions I, or other members, would be happy to answer them.

Couple of things:

1- Multiplayer, downloadable content, and pre-order bonuses on PS3-
These are now available for PS3 users. Simply input the code you received into the "Redeem Code" portion of the PS Store to unlock VIP access and pre-order bonuses. Future DLC will be added to the PS Store soon.

2- Wheel jumping to the left after events-
I believe this is mainly a made for controller feature that might have been over looked with wheels. Turn down vibration in the feedback settings menu. I run between a 30-40% and while this does not do away with vibration in the menus it will stop the wheel from jumping completely to steering lock. Unfortunately, this also effects in race environmental vibration effects. I do not know if there is a fix or future patch to fix this issue.

3- Supported wheels.
Here is a list of supported wheels from Codemasters: http://community.codemasters.com/fo...4511-dirt-3-supported-controllers-wheels.html
However, GTP members are reporting additional wheels with full or some functionality (forum search).

4- Future DLC
This can easily be seen just by looking at your trophies or achievements menu. Future DLC includes: Power and Glory Car Pack, Mud and Guts Car Pack, Monte Carlo Track Pack, X Games Asia Track Pack.

5- Driving Physics
The driving physics are what you make them. With all aids off the game is as close to realism as a DiRT game can get. With that said, DiRT 3 is neither a Need for Speed game nor Gran Turismo. It happily sits in the middle. Expect your car to float sideways with poor throttle control in corners with traction control off. ABS, driving line, and other options are available for those looking for a casual experience. These options can be modified within the "Options" sub menu at the main menu.

Within the options menu at the main menu screen. If you go to difficulty you can also select a custom difficulty and change how difficult (scale of 1-6) the AI is as well as which aids are on/off.

Could you elaborate on the world tour events. how many?

Is there an event for each discipline?

Thanks.

SmittMan
Are the World Tour events the last in the career mode (only on season 2)??

You unlock the World Tour events during the progression of the DiRT Tour. I believe it is the completion of each Seasonal Final event that unlocks them.

There are 6 World Tour events: Rally, RallyX, Trailblazer, Land Rush, Head to Head, and Gymkhana. Each skill (ie Rally or RallyX) has from 2-4 events, each for a different location, with multiple tracks at that location (each world tour has between 12-20 additional races). Each World Tour skill also concludes with a DC Gymkhana event targeting a specific skill (ie drift, attack etc) at a variety of locations.

Sorry! Somehow I overlooked your post. I will check next time I boot up my PS3.

I don't think there's a Mk. II Escort in there. there's the Sierra and the Sierra Cosworth, though.

Well i seen a pic before release and there was a mk2 also seen a vid that had the 205 t16 group b init so am thinking mabay the DLC pack but it would be kinda odd if there's no mk2 but his r4 is on the we will just have to see what the pack's bring if they come out

Thanks,john

I always get flustered when this happens: You know how at
times when you steer really hard or oversteer, the car slides out at an angle and countersteering doesn't fix it. Whatcan i do to get out of it when it happens?

I find that when that happens, it's like nothing can be done. even when i get off the gas, I still have to deal with it until I come to a near stop.

Ya I don't see one I am afraid. So, most likely coming out in the DLC packs as mentioned,.

AOS-

Use less throttle in corners. I have honestly never had a problem with this.

If environmental vibration effects are set too high they can over saturate wheel weight feedback and cause you to misjudge how your vehicle weight is distributed. If this is the case turn down vibration and increase wheel weight feedback. When you start to feel the vehicle slide... get off the throttle. I am just using a DFGT and it is able to communicate weight very effectively.

This doesn't really relate to season mode, but for time trial times, I set respectable times, for example at Michigan Mountain Drive I set a 2:52.009, but in the leaderboard it added about 20 seconds...anyone know why? Is it maybe I have assists on I am unaware of?

-Thanks

Q: What do people mean when they say Season 2, Season 3, etc? I mean, does the game repeat with the exact same events? I assume you are unlocking more sponsers and getting more rep+.

Q: When do I get to use the Monster SX4 hill Climb? I made it to that Gymkhana event will I get to drive the 'monster' shortly afterwards? Hoping psn store comes up soon I should be able to use much faster once my preorder bonus unlocks it :grumpy:

Zooology, I'm using a DS3..

GrandPrix, try it without aids and see what happens.

sandboxgod, when you're playing in dirt tour, there are those tetrahedrons- 4 of them to be exact- and each of those represent one season, each season of which contains four competitions containing approximately 5 events.

No, it does not repeat. The career mode is arranged into four seasons, which contain three championships and a final series each. Each championship contains three to five events, plus extra challenges in the gymkhana compound. Each championship is unique, and as you advance, the races get longer and harder.

Q: When do I get to use the Monster SX4 hill Climb? I made it to that Gymkhana event will I get to drive the 'monster' shortly afterwards?
The availablity of each car depends on which team runs it. Not all teams have an entry for each discipline; for example, reddmango have rallycross and Trailblazer cars, but no rally or Super 2000 cars. I don't know which Monster SX4 you're referring to - the Monster Energy entry or the Monster Tajima livery. There's not actually a Monster Energy SX4 available; they run a Ford Fiesta Hillclimb Edition under the modern class of Trailblazer cars. As for the Monster Tajima SX4, it's available from the start, but cannot be used in career mode. I believe you can run it in the Trailblazer discipline in single races, time trials and online.

I have a DFP with dying pedals.

Is there a way to monitor pedal input in Dirt 3? In GT5 there are two bars between the dials. In S2U there's the telemetry HUD. Anything like that in Dirt 3?

Ah thanks a lot guys. I was confused by the season references.

Here's the Monster Sport SX4 Hill Climb I was really looking forward to driving:

Yeah, that's the one. You can only use that car in Trailblazer (you can find it in the modern class), and you can only use that livery online or in single races/time trials.

I just unlocked the world tour events in rally, trailblazer and rallycross but I wanted to focus on completing the winter X Games in the 3rd season.

Hmm... Power and Glory pack sounds like a bit of old and new American Muscle. The Mud and Guts car pack sounds like they'll be adding more trucks and buggies and then the track packs are self explanatory. Good to finally see DLC lined up, though. Dirt 2 was supposed to get some but it never happened. And we know, with Grid, that Codemasters can do decent DLC.

Yeah, that's the one. You can only use that car in Trailblazer (you can find it in the modern class), and you can only use that livery online or in single races/time trials.

Ah thanks! I went to single player->Trailblazer like you said and drove the car :dopey:

Lol, get a wheel and pedals, problem solved! Sorry I can't help though.

The only game I have ever liked throttle control with a controller is Forza 3. XBOX triggers work great.

Not that I have noticed, sorry.
