I've went and clicked "Restore to Default" like some of you guys suggested, and it stayed exactly the same.

Was he drafting you at the Ring straight?

Vegard
The answer is this:
One of you installed the gearbox before tuning the engine, one of you installed the gearbox after tuning the engine.

The gears are set when you install the 'box.
If you tune the engine after, you gain some extra rpm = extra top speed.
If you tune the engine before, the game compensates for the extra rpm and adjusts the gears accordingly in order to get the pre-programmed top speed.

This is the case with both fixed ratio 'boxes and FC 'boxes.

A reset of the gearbox (uninstall - reinstall) will put both cars at the same ratios.

I really think u r on to something on that aspect the only thing that baffles me on that is that when i upgraded the car i added the parts in a unorthodoxed manner that i can't see that as the answer to it but i could be wrong so don't quote me as to undermine ur logic

When bhp is increased or decreased in the game do the minimum and maximum numbers available to the gear ratios change?

If they do then that might explain differences. If you go into each individual ratio, see what the minimum and maximum settings that both of you can select for each gear.

Do you get the same numbers if you both have the same exhaust?

It would be good to see the two power graphs ghosted over each other, that way you could see if the power levels from the different exhausts are also shifting the peak of the power band. Perhaps the more powerful exhaust is actually lowering where the peak power is in the rpm range, so that it is delevering less power at the top of the rpm range.

From what I've read, this is probably it. Coupled with the transmission issue, it would certainly explain the lower top speed. Now what caused the transmission to be different I've no clue.

The only thing that baffles me is that everyone is still going on about this. Your cars are different, you added different parts. Go back and do it again, add the same parts in the same order and you will have the same car. End of story.

What really baffles me is all u r doing is complaining about a simple question that Ace and i asked now u r being rude if u don't like anything about what we r trying to figure out then stop posting on this and go about ur own life we r trying to solve an issue that has not even been answered yet thank u and goodbye

Adding parts that increase the max RPM will increase the speed in each gear.

If you install the gearbox after installing such parts, the game automatically alters the gear ratios so the top speed matches the pre-set top speed for the vehicle.

If you install the gearbox first, the game sets the gears to reach the same speed. Then, adding RPM increasing parts will give you more speed because the gear ratios are already set and you are increasing the max RPM. Restoring to default will reset the gears to give you the pre-set top speed.

Ask your mate to reset the gears and your cars WILL be identical (except for the exhaust).

This is an old glitch that i discovered 1 1/2 year ago.

To see for yourself, buy any car. Install any gearbox. Install chip and stage 1, 2, and 3 engine tuning. Note the claimed top speed in the gearbox sub-menu.

Now switch back to the stock gearbox and then back to the previous gearbox and check the claimed top speed...

He was answering the question, no need to get defensive. Also, please bear this in mind, so you don't fall foul of the moderators:

You will not use “textspeak” (“r”, “u”, “plz”, etc.) in your messages. Decent grammar is expected at all times, including proper usage of capital letters.

P.S Nobody here is really an unreasonable person, if any of us come across as unkind, it's not intentional.

So everyone knows i am the friend that is working on the R33 with Ace not one thing is different between our cars

I have not changed anything on the car let alone changed the gearing on the transmission now if u actually read the first post u would know this the only difference is the exhaust

I think you can probably expect a PM containing an infraction.

Also, it seems to me that your question HAS been answered. You added different parts in a different order from your friend.

How can you be surprised that you have ended up with a different car at the end of it?

Neal one I'm on a phone so i don't really feel like typing everything out plus we just built two new cars exactly the same way and still ended up with two different results so no i don't think my question has been answered

So report me don't care one i don't think everyone that is on this website cares if u type things out no one is perfect oh wait i guess u r though right

Well, we just went got two more R33s and and he bought and installed the parts on his first. Sent me a message afterwards in what order he bought his. I installed mine the same way, and my top speed at the top of the gear graph is higher than his now.

So, uh, what now?

I have done. :-)

I never said I was perfect. Although I am closer to it than you, I'll give you that one.

This won't really make what is happening make sense but can one if you just buy two and set them up the same way and send one to your friend.

I could care less and 2 ur human so no you are not closer numbnuts

Hahahahahaha.

You COULD care less? So by making that statement you do care a bit. Even if that bit is the smallest possible amount, say 0.01. You have to care that much in order to care less.

Learn English, and post in it. Otherwise you may get banned.

Don't you think it would be best not to announce hey I reported you.
All it's going to do is cause a fight

Also wouldn't it be better to leave it to the mods instead of telling him to expect a infraction.
Again it's just going to make it worse

Agreed, sorry. People like that just get on my t***.

I mean yeah it would, but what's the fun in that? We both have the money to buy the car and build them up. We both been on the game since day one. We was bored and decided to work on this car at the same time.

Then get off of our post thank you and GOODBYE

Then get off of our post thank you and GOODBYE

Our post? I don't recall you being a member of the staff. It'd be in your best intentions to drop the attitude and adhere to the AUP you agreed to:

Acceptable Use Policy
You will not use “textspeak” (“r”, “u”, “plz”, etc.) in your messages. Decent grammar is expected at all times, including proper usage of capital letters.

Saying things like "don't care one i don't think everyone that is on this website cares if u type things out no one is perfect" is complete nonsense, otherwise that particular rule wouldn't be apart of the AUP to begin with.

Well when people get on a post and think they know everything about something that they obviously don't know what they are talking about plus when they don't even talk about what the post is about they shouldn't even post on that post so and yes when i say our post i didn't see any admins names on the opening post just because your are an admin doesn't make this website your personal site

I have no part in this.. I know this, this whole thing is stumping me.. We added the parts in the same order and there was still a difference. Now, to everybody who was saying that my problem was that, any further explanation?

And that's somehow a defense for what, exactly? It being your post? It still isn't, and while I may not own the site you can rest assured that Jordan—who does own this site—leaves the staff in charge, so in a sense, yes, this is my personal site as I can enforce every rule he's appointed.

In that case then mate, I have no ideas. Unless there is some kind of randomiser.

Just out of curiosity post the exact car and the list of what you did in order if it's not too much trouble.
Would be interesting to see what others come up with.

Terronium, may I ask, but isn't this my post? It's Jordan's site, sure. But aren't I allowed to make posts?

Send me both the cars.

There is either a difference between the cars originally or a difference between how they were modified. If you both say this isn't the case, one of you is mistaken.

You made this thread - and that post. It's the work of two clicks to give it to someone else. We do this on occasion, by request, however we may do this and anything else we see fit at any time for any reason. We're good staff as staff go, because we don't.
