MAX_DC - A judge declared it unlawful. He just didn't make a statement. It wasn't like he just came out to a coffee party Sony was having and said it. But say what you will, it's obvious you think you're too important and that Sony should cater to you, not as a business, but as your best buddy, and that their interests as a business should mean nothing to them, only what you think is right. My apologies O'high and mighty gamer.

Yes but that is like that all the time. A local judge declares something as unlawful or somebody guilty. Then the defender brings it to a higher court and you get a new decision. And I tell you, in a British high court or even European high court Sony wouldn't win. But Sony knows that a HK firm wirth limited budget won't fight a 2+ years trial.

It's not that I feel that important, but it is my right to buy the stuff I want at a place I chose. And if it's HK, then it's HK.
And I really don't see a reason why Sony goes the opposite direction as MS, Nintendo and about every other producer of goods on this planet ( cars, electronic, you name it ).

But I appreciate that you think that all I say is right and of course I also welcome your apologies . But just call me Max, no need for that all mighty thing.... ;)

No one imports MS consoles, and NIntendo generally launches with more than enough numbers to meet demand. Also, Nintendo makes a profit on every single console they release, so importing poses no threat to them as they don't lose profit from one territory to the next. That's why you don't see Nintendo saying anything, and there IS no demand for imported Xbox's or 360's...at all. otherwise, MS would get into the mix.

So you call me a nobody ? ;) But not many do this, that's right

And ? That doesn't speak against or for imports. I don't only import because of a local shortage. But of course shortages boost imports.

Yeah but that doesn't help Nintendo of America or Europe- those territories lose money. I don't know if Sony is losing money with the PSP hardware, I don't think so tbh.

I called MS on their free hotline at 10 pm and they give me one year full warrenty for my Japanese Xbox360. They even apologized for the fact, that a replacement might take a week longer than the one of a PAL console . THAT is what I call customer friendly service.
Not to forget all those region code free games which cost about 40% less than in Germany including shipping. Somebody loses a lot of money and still nobody is against it. And what about all those other goods, cars and what not.
Sony is hunting the wrong people. The import freaks, surely not the group they make the most money with, but also no threat to their profits. Piracy is the only real problem.
I understand why they do it and I still think it isn't worth the effort and the loss of image. This is only one little piece of a huge puzzle, but in the end they will lose market share because of many little faults they make.

Same with the rumble feature : Everybody pays the damn fees to the patent owning company, why can't Sony ? Oh wait, that would make the 600 dollar console cost 610 dollar. Why not invent sth own ? Every mobile phne has a vibration funtion ... and motion sense does work with rumble, look at the Wii...
a little offtopic but still...

That's much more complicated than you think.

Yes and no. If Sony wants to add a rumble feature into their pads they can do it. Comme on, they have roboter dogs, can't be that difficult to add a 90's technology ;)
And note that I don't care if rumble and motion sense work at the same time. Not at all. When I play a racing game I don't want to move my pad, I want rumble, same with beat'em ups etc.

So technically it's no big thing and financially, oh well, either own free technology ( simple as hell ) or paying that company...
So I think it is rather simple tbh

Honestly, and I know it's offtopic, but the missing rumble feature is a huge disadvantage for many multiplatform games. Not for everybody, but at least for 40% who love rumble effects...
