Need a R34 Drag tune for Indy, Just the Suspension and Transmission (and maybe some tips on how to launch).

Do you have a tune that you are currently using?

Kinda, But its good off the bat but then the Engine "cuts off" and thats how i usually lose. Have any idea how to tune a Trans on one of these Beasts?

Post what you have and I will take a look at it.

Nissan GT-R R34 '02 (Premium)

Body/Chassis:
Stage 3 Weight Reduction
Window Weight Reduction
Carbon Hood

Engine:
Stage 3 Engine Tuning
ECU Tuning

Intake System:
Sports Intake Manifold
Racing Air Filter

Exhaust:
Sports Exhaust Manifold
Catalytic Converter: Sports
Titanium Racing Exhaust

Turbo:
High RPM

Now, I may not be the best tuner, but my Transmission is not that bad, But i have not tuned Suspension because i just dont know how :ouch:
And Also, all of the upgrades from Transmission to Racing Soft Tires were bought.

Transmission:
Top speed set to 143

Sorry if this doesnt help much slash, thats why im requesting a tune 👍

Oh lol, Racing Soft, No Assists except ABS, Manual

:lol:Settings-transmission, suspension, lsd, etc. The numbers for each setting.

Oh, sorry. Noticed no suspension adjustments. And have you only adjusted the top speed of the transmission? If so you'll definitely need to adjust the individual ratios for better performance. As for the suspension,I haven't tuned one of these yet, so I can't offer much in the way of tips but this should help you to get started on your own- https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=5719853#post5719853

Hope this helps and good luck.

Thanks for the tip! I'll try to tune it myself, though i dont think i'll be very good at it. But then again, Practice makes perfect.👍

Yes it does! And its definitely the best way to learn. Let us know how it goes and if you have any more questions. There are plenty of helpful people on here and a vast wealth of knowledge contained in this forum. Everything you need to create a decent drag tune!👍

It did mostly, Using some help from people in the GTP Chat, I got down the LSD and Suspension, Now the hard part is the Transmission-But it should be hard. Once im done i'l be sure to test it online, and if It gets 10sec 1/4 on Indy, Il make sure to post it. :D

Thanks for mentioning that link, it is helpful!

Best thing to do is to use the transmission trick (search it) and then lengthen your first gear. Test launchy it and it should be short of the redline. If not, lengthen your second enough that it doesn't, but not so much that it bogs down. From there make your gears shorter so they always remain in the powerband. You should hit anywhere from 145-150mph with a good tune.

Well, I finally got down the Transmission. If anyone wants it, Just request.

Its pretty fast, 9.78 second 1/4 on Indy! 👍

I've found that it is 2 ways to tune a drag car. Some people shorten there first and bring there 2nd gear so close that your shifting into 2nd gear right after the intial launch. It definately works if you are skilled in the art of "quick shifting" the downfall is that while your in second gear the car next to you is on your tail and still in first. Many cars have the ability to catch up being that they still have 1 or 2 more gears left to catch you. Quick shifting can turn a 6-speed tranny to a 5-speed tranny which is a hit or miss.

Another way is taking the same approach but shorten your 1st even more and bring your 2nd gear to a higher rpm by shortening it to where you can launch in 2nd gear. This is also a hit or miss because again your turning a 6-speed into a 5-speed.

My fav way is makingmy first gear long as possible and adjust my final gear low enuff to where it smokes and digs without bogging down or to where my rpm needle isnt bouncing at redline. Once your 1st gear is dialed in move onto 6 gear, 2nd, 5th, 3rd, 4th in that order. Do not touch your 1st gear once its dialed in. Read your specs, you want torque. If your making 497lb of torque @ 7400 rpm and 712hp @ 8400 rpm the. You know your rpm needle should bounce somewhere in between 7400 and 8400 to get the most out of your powerband. Some cars benefit from mid range turbo vs a high range turbo because some mid range turbos give better torque. Example, hondas need more low end and mid range torque because they are already potent in the high ranges, so a mid range or low range turbo should give them the low end torque that hondas have always been lacking. The vtech alone is somewhat of your high range power boost already so all you need is to work with the lows.

Also for 4wd cars set your torque balance to 50\50 so you can get all the good stuff from them r33,r34,r32. Set a gtr to 50/50 and watch that thing launch like a beast. Dont run a circuit like that because youll be bangin walls at every turn. Lol

50/50 doesn't always work. You may bog at launch...

Setting 50/50 torque balance will give you a ultra short 1st and when shifting into 2nd will result in the car jumping and most likley getting overtaken id say 55-60 to stay safe but thats if you arent bothered to be perfect or one of the fastest

Imma let you guys in on a secret.. I use 48-52... That way it's still a crazy launch but won't hold you back.. I don't get treed in Aussie rooms so it must work for me :)

I think suspension is harder. Well I think it is at tunnel.

U are correct. My golf bogs major on that setting. I just happen to postion the 2nd gear close enuff to catch it at about 7300 7400 rpms. Imma try increasing the back little by little until them damn muscle vipers cant catch up with me at the end
