Race David Coulthard on GT5!

Well done for qualifying guys. Good luck.
One question, why speculate the track will be in the uk? DC will be at Monza the week after the GT5 event, so perhaps Monza is a possibility, or any Euro track. Exciting. As soon as you lucky qualifiers know the details, please post them. Track, car setup, tyres and restrictions.
 
Bit of research does confirm its a uk track, sorry for my speculation.
Is it too much to hope for a new uk track in GT5, but then i get to thinking, why make a deal about it being a mystery uk track when there is only one?
 
I got the call too, also very scared! Gonna be great fun though, from what i can work out we get to drive an AMG round Brooklands and also do some off road driving, night in a hotel paid for by Mercedes too.

As discussed on the phone congratulations on getting through the next stage of the Gran Turismo David Coulthard competition!

You have been selected as one of the 24 finalists who will need to come down to Mercedes-Benz World on Monday 5th September 2011 to take part in qualifying races and then dependant on the lap times 6 finalists will be picked to race David Coulthard in Real time.

Mercedes- Benz World:
Brooklands Drive, Weybridge, Surrey, KT13 0SL

Then of those 6 finalists, the finalist with the fastest lap time will win an all expense paid trip to the Brazilian Grand Prix and will need to be available from the 24th to 28th November 2011.

The itinerary for the day is as follows:

9am - Arrive
9:30 - Introduction to day
10:00 - Driving experiences and qualifying round begin
13:00 - lunch
14:00 - Finalists announced
Pre race build up
15:00 - Live coverage begins
16:00 - Meet and Greets with surprise guests

Monday 5th September
-Bring a valid photocard and counterpart paper driving license on the day
-You will have a one night’s stay at the Brooklands hotel on the evening of Sunday 4th September for you plus one guest. Please can you confirm the guest name and whether you require a double or twin room. Travel to Brooklands Hotel is not included in your prize.

I will be taking my collectors edition GT5 for signatures on the cover :) I know DC isnt directly part of GT but he has done a fair bit of work directly conneced to it and i would frankly kill to get JB and LH autographs on my GT5 paper cover.

I had a phone call to check I was available on Friday 26th about 16:30 then the email shortly after to confirm.
 
I phoned the pr company today, they said they will be sending out packs in a day or two with everything we need to know?
 
Is confirmed now what track it is?

If not maybe it's a new track and show the track there first as a commercial, and then as DLC
 
I am attending, someone luckily dropped out and i received a phone call yesterday and couldn't sleep!! Looking forward to it like everyone else who is going.

As for the track, i think 4 options (in order):

1. Top Gear Test Track - due to being in the UK and the location + short lap times for the comp.
2. Nurburgring GP Track - German track with Mercedes Benz links, only a short flight for DC to get to.
3. Monza - F1 race coming the following weekend, again not too long a flight for DC.
4. Nordschleife - as above but i think track length is too long for this type of comp. Would be nice tho - my fav track.

i also got the call last friday. replied to the confirmation email but have not heard a thing since. anyone received anything. see u guys there.

It has been openly said that it is a UK track and there are only two in the game and they arent about to close of some central london roads especially baring in mind they are doing road works on some of what would be the track.
 
Well, thanks to Mercedes and Jardine International, :gtplanet:.net have been invited to send someone as a media representative, and that someone is me. :D

I'll be there to report on what happens for GTP and I'll also get to drive the SLS, :D but won't be eligible for the main prize. :(
 
Correct! Posted that before getting full info, particulary DC's video in this post. Apologies. I'm sure were all in agreement that it wil be the TGTT?

Would be interesting. Daan's PM went to 8 of us so that already makes up a third!

Anyone attending received an e-mail with any further info? I believe we can check in at Brooklands Hotel from 1pm.

Am I the only one who is REALLY local to the venue? MY dad is even known at mercedes benz world. I am only about 8 miles form there.
