Just cleaned up my problem areas in the other lap and finished with a 1'28.5 this time. Don't see very much time left here, now -- just hope I'm right about that. Anyhow, attached the updated replay below for anyone on the NTSC side.

@MinorShunt: Yep. I don't think I was able to carry more speed through the corner, but saving the shift should yield a little time. Good luck!

Nice work to Z. and Mr. Shunt. As far as Shunt's near off, I'd be wary of that a little. If you can manage another clean run within .100 or so of that one you may be better off not taking the risk of a possible penalty. I'll have to watch it on my PS2 in a day or two and get a good look at it. I know I asked for .500 more off before, but a run in the 2'40's would be a nice way to wrap it up.:sly:

Any word from Alpine, MR8,holl01, or Toffe and vexd? Any news on how you guys' races are coming along would ease my nerves a bit.:scared:
 
I got to 1'18.7 quite easily for a hotlap just by cleaning up the last turn. Tried second on the downhiller, but no good. The torque curve falls off so drastically, that it's better to downshift and keep the revs high.

I've got 20 days to get into the 2'40's Todd. I will get it! I'm not racing anything else until this is over, and I'm certainly not doing this for a "respectable" finish. I want a win!

I'm going to take a look at your lap momentarily, but a 1'28.5 sounds awfully good! :scared:

Edit: It is very good! Didn't see any real mistakes. Nice! I don't know if it is how you came through the last corner Z, cause it looks real good, but at the start of every lap I chased your ghost on, I was P1 up to the first real corner. I don't know how far ahead, and it's probably miniscule, cause you passed me immediately going into the corner, but just an observation. May be one of those tracks that you do the start different than finish in hotlap?

Comparing veilside's splits and mine, (thx for the replay BTW 👍 ) I trailed by 0.4 in the 1st sector, 1 sec in the 2nd, and 1.4 by the finishline. (If veil didn't lose traction coming out of the last chicane our gap def won't be that small :sly: )

Here's a little comparison, side-by-side:

T2: 40.988 (39.903)

If u really want, i can do a 59 second lap later, for you to have some good reference for details, cornering etc that would help you. But just if u really want. 👍

Sorry guys, but i've been away on my university orientation weekend! It was so much fun, nothing but dry humping, perverted cheers, dancing, drinking, and partying!!

I definitely still have a lot of work to do with my combo. I only have a clean 1'38.9 and a 1'38.7 dirty. A 1'37 might be a stretch for me. I would appreciate it if someone could also give my race an attempt or two just to see how far i'm behind :) .

Anyway, if anyone who CAN tune has any ideas on what we should do with this french car ( im being polite ) then speak up, as there are 8 days to go, and neither of us are very far.

The car i run is achieving 36 second laps in free run, but needs soooo much work, and Toffe is only .3 behind me, so we are at the same level, but any help for this biiiiatch would be nice.

I know this is a tough one guys, that's why I paired you up. All I can ask of you two is to do the very best you can for this race, and make sure the run is legal.👍 I just wanted to make sure everyone is still working on their races and will submit a run in time for the deadline. Someone has to get stuck with this dungheap, and I appreciate the effort you guys are putting in. As long as you guys submit a clean run to the best of your abilities, then I'll be happy, regardless of the results.:)

Would you like Famine to double up on this race with you, to see if he can help at all or maybe turn in a faster lap? He is listed as an alternate on our roster so he'd be qualified to submit a run if you'd like someone running along side of you. Let me know and I can PM him, or you can PM him directly also if you'd like. 👍
 
Had about 50 - 60km on Vexd's combo, got a nice setup. Will email you a replay and the setup. So far on 36.18x, not sure how much more to come off, will try to hit a 35.9 then send it but you will at least have a 36.18x :D, when i email it i will also attach the replay to a post in here :D.

Make sure your using the 2003 clio phase 2 not the 2000 model that was in GT3 ;), 442hp.

It feels great, nice smooth controlled drifts, yes it spins if you dont drive correctly but its much easier than i thought it would be :p.
 
Wasnt able to improve (36.181), its a great lap imho, and a 35 would be pushing it for me.

Watch my replay to see braking, acceleration and steering inputs before you have a go. This isnt a hard combo IMHO at least compared to mine, you just have to be precise and drive a certain way otherwise it can be a biatch. Anyway once you see my lines and stuff try to improve on them :).

Anyway im off to give Toffe a PM to let him know and also send Vexd an email ;).

ALtough i´ve put few hours until now since i gone out alot last weekend, i will dedicate this week to my BC5 round.

Sure Todd, I can use some help over here. :guilty: Though I am getting a lot more comfortable with this car, just got it down to a 1'01.195 minutes ago. No promises yet, but I can definitely see myself in the 1'00s w/ 10 days to go. 👍

BTW, do you remember what top speed you used for this lap?
 
MR8 - I'll do what I can. I haven't run this combination yet, but expect a time from me inside the next 24 hours (I should be asleep now... The JD is kicking in at least. Mmmmm.... JD.....)

Sorry dude if it looks like everyone is ignoring you. But the fact of the matter is that noone on this team besides holl or curtis (no offense to others) can keep up with you on the 'ring :). It looks like your solo this time around.

Edit: I'm down to a 1'38.1 on my combo and i'm feeling pretty good about it. If i can somehow manage a 1'37.9 i will be ecstatic!

PS: Has anyone heard any rumors in the grapevine about opposing boards? I think any rumor/inside info would be a great motivational factor!

Edit 2: I gave your combo an attempt toffe & vexd, with the help of small fryz who taught me the track pretty well through a very good lap description. In about 150km's of driving with small fryz's settings, the best i could do was a 36.4. So i dont think you guys are behind the pace very much and a low 36 should be pretty competitive. Good luck and keep up the quick laps!

This is what ive heard through the grapevine, and Im allowed to say this, as long as the driver remains annoymous ;). Its not like im saying things from private messages with out permission :p. The civic and caterham dont seem to be at the limit but the RX7 is great and i dont know about the 320i?. BTW these are "testing" runs.

1'04.8 in the RX7
16'01 in the 320i
1'38.6 in the Civic
Caterham, 1'19 in Free Run

Thats all i have. And out of all that I dont know which one his racing.

Thanks for the settings small_fryz 👍 ! I will try them when I get home (I'm in school right now)! I really needed some settings!! Hopefully I will be able to set simular times. (Hopefully under 36.3 at least. That will be my goal. And if I can't do it I'm sure vexd will. Man, I'm happy we're a team!!! It was a great idea for this combo! 👍 )
 
No worries mate 👍, give the replay a look also, you may be takeing a few corners badly (though im sure i could be too :indiff: ), between my replay and settings and your saved replay you should be able to get your 36.3 👍. Good luck 👍 :cheers:

Right Toffe, im off to pm you some settings too, so u can see whether any of the ideas we put forward will help you to gain time round the track.

Also, i have to ask, the two lapper gives you one factor you cant eliminate, which is the randomness of your opponents.

Ive found through restarting over and over, i have managed to give myself a much better chance of running a faster time through having AI that get out of my way, cos they are slower, or drive differently.

This means, whoever manages to locate the best AI opponents to race, will in theory have the quickest time..... Famine?

I know you like random conundrums like this, whats your take?

You're totally right vexd. The AI is going to a be an important factor. If you get a monster 1st lap it doesn't matter if you're maybe 0.3 or so behind your absolute limit on the 2nd lap. :sly:

Didn't had time to drive so much today, since I quit so late today. I have a feeling this weekend is going to be intense! :nervous:

Had ago at my race again, 1'02.086.

lost .3 in T1 and .2 in T3, middle sector was a PB.
I want that 1'01 damnit!!

What is a good goal to aim for? As in my best ever lap if i cut and paste sectors is a 1'01.537, how many tenths behind this "ultimate" lap is acceptable for a real lap?

I was thinking no more than .3 behind.
 
Thanks for posting the "inside info" small fryz. 👍 No the Catterham isn't maxed out at 1'19 in free run, cause I just did back to back 1'18.5's. :D
Best I've got in the race is 1'18.9 though. :grumpy: Cleaned up that "questionable" race and picked up a WHOLE .014! :lol: It's getting real tough to pick up any time now. Pushing the limit and trying some really stupid stuff to try and find any time at all. But if I cut and pasted my 2 best first and second race laps into one, I would drop another .4 for total, or .2 per lap. I'd be real happy with .26 total.

@Veil- Alpine is right. You are the man at Nurb. None of us can come close to your times. But if you want motivation, I can say I drove it and post some bogus splits for you to chase. :sly: j/k
 
Veil, i heard that a certain driver (different from previous source) is at 5'40.xxx
 
had a 1.5 hour session at Rons combo and got 1'04.878 out of it

i have had a t2 .1 faster but i did the last corner like a madman, haha, i only see .1 left with the ds2, not sure about the dfp though, i may give it ago with that tomorrow
