And well said to you also SF. 👍 Valid and true all. You will notice that Team GTWeb won the BC. Not Team Momo.
I believe that given another year competing with each other, we will know each other better, and will work together closer. I for one, don't know a lot of you guys that well 'cause I'm new and till recently just didn't spend that much time OL. I sincerely hope that changes in the coming year. 👍
But of course I have a few thoughts.
What we really need is some setup experience. We all do an awful lot of arcade racing which is fun and such, but let's face it, some of our drivers got beat, or had a lower finish than their skill level because of setup deficiencies. This is something we HAVE to work on to be more successful next time out......IMHO of course.
The other thing we need to do better, again IMO, is recruit more of, and actually use test drivers. Honestly we could have used 2 or 3 working out strategy and tires, etc. for h0tb0i's race, and 2 or 3 on every other race that required a setup. The test racers don't need to be as fast, just need to have some savvy and setup skills. Work out the best AI, pit strategies, best setup with compound staggered tires, etc. In other words take some of the load off the driver......to ACTUALLY drive!
There is a wealth of diverse skills and talents within the WRS and the GTP at large itself. You all know this just by looking at the jumbled leaderboard each week. So just because a guy is div 2 or 3 doesn't mean they don't have anything to offer! I think it should be a goal to start including some of the WRS regulars sooner, and get them excited about contributing to the BC as supporting team mates if they don't make it as drivers. I feel strongly that this is something that we as team members need to do for next years team. We can't expect CFM to do everything for us. Yes he is captain and a damn fine one, 👍 but he's only one guy with a big load around here. If we want to win BC6 next year, we need to commit to it right now, lay the groundwork ourselves, and start planning for success. 👍
I don't know a whole lot about the OLR world, but I do know a thing or two about competition and organizing successful team structures. Believe me, winning teams do not take place in a vacuum.
Well thanks anyway for reading. I'm a bit of a gasbag I know, but that's just me.
