Yea don't think there's any chance that it's dirty. That's exactly what I did in the BC qualifier before the ending you get out to the far left and have your 2 right tires on the white lines.

If you did have a lap that was dirty there I'd like to see you control the car without crashing because I think you would spinout there.

OMG, that´s some freaking news. cizmo i think its the biggest rival. i have my fingers crossed, and i hope rotzi, scooby roo or any other driver don´t come up with any kind of miraculous time. i have a feeling i won´t be able to sleep waiting for the results

Still stuck at 1'25.770, but see plenty of time left. I really hate the combo, now, to tell the truth. I have the first and last sectors on lock, but T1 -> T2 is really going to make me get grey hairs. Hopefully something happens and I nail it soon . . . anyhow, that's where I am right now. Any news as to what others are doing with this combo? I saw 1'25.9 mentioned somewhere, so that makes me feel a little better, but still see .5 or so out on the track.

Well, that's great. If people are just getting into that bracket, then a podium should be in the works.. new time is 1'25.348, and with personal best splits all over. Still think 1'24.9 is the absolute limit, and my personal limit would be somewhere of a 1'25.1. I feel I have put a good effort into this, so will be happy with my result regardless. Of course, a podium or a win would certainly be nice, I don't want to get my hopes up, or those of the team.

Since I've been absent of late, I'd like to congratulate everyone on their efforts so far. They're certainly showing up in the results.

Again, still feel as though I left .2 on track, so will keep running until as late as I am comfortable running (probably stop short 2 hours of deadline, just to ease the nerves). I'll post the 1'25.348 replay in the other thread shortly just so it is there if I am unable to beat it, or in case I have some freak accident with a memory card or something unfortunate. :/

From what I've seen Shaun, there's only a couple of guys that can match you in rally. One of them is here (Dan), Luxy has gotten really fast at rally(he narrowly bested Dan in one of the ARC races), and a couple others that can be fast. But MAN! That's a helluva improvement you made on your lap! Way to go. 👍

Take all hairpins in 3rd, and its much faster to slide into the bend and power on early and hit apex and power out, but its harder to do right.


EDIT!!

Ok i ran in free run mode (yes its faster because of fuel) but these laps will give you a great idea on how to take some corners, as the lines and everything are identical.

Lap 1 Ignore expect for maybe the 13.5 T1.

it is definitely quicker, with the lower gearing, i should have thought of it earlier, so far with racing with lower gearing i am have done much quicker laps but i can't see a 57.xxx through any of the laps due to fuel and tyre wear...

this is my target coz i have seen all these times in seperate races

yeah i had been doing the sliding into the corners thing from early on, was just losing pace out of the hairpins, coz i was still using 3rd gear for them, but with the longer gearing it bogged down a bit more...

I have seen better first laps and so I'll still keep trying to find a few tenths of a second before tomorrow but this is very very very close to my limit and that second lap is beyond my limit I am very scared of submitting a dirty lap so I'd like some folk to take a look and assure me it's clean.

took a full second off of my previous best (thanks Colby for suggesting 30 minute stints) nearly put the DFP though a window yesterday in frustration

laps went like so (best laps in brackets):

1'00.442 this was the best last lap i have done


so if i get all the right laps in one race i should reach 4'55.5, i was on target for a 4'55.xxx but just got it off the track on the last corner of the last lap... will have a crack again tomorrow:tup:
